There are several very very expensive players in that club that are completely useless in probably 9 games out of 10.

The answer to the last point is 'because it's successful' in terms of winning things. It worked at Porto, Inter Milan, Chelsea and even United last year in the Europa League. It's just so depressing to watch. Still we will see no more of it, Excellent.
You're right of course, but I wonder if it is becoming less successful? Other teams progress, get better and change tactics while Mourinho doesn't. Hopefully the days of anti-football are numbered - dunno.

Is it worth watching the last thirty minutes of the game for the Schadenfreude?
Don't torture yourself mate, that would be classed as self-harm, just watch the last 18 minutes, it's probably best to use the zoomy thingy on your telly and just watch Sevilla's goals. I watched the whole match with a bit of a break when the United fan streaming it killed it when Sevilla scored, had to switch to a trusty Spanish stream, I am going for counselling to try and come to terms with watching that game.

Did you see Man City vs Chelsea the other day? It was even worse. Acutely embarrassing if you're anything to do with Chelsea, Gary Neville called it 'unacceptable'....I've never seen anything like it. Chelsea actually stood like dummies at one point in formation and let City pass back and forth to each other.

I assume there will be some of that in Barcelona tonight... with a bit of counter-attacking.

That was shocking, luckily I didn't watch the game but I saw the passing map and some online videos of the City passing practice. The ref should be allowed to yellow card the whole team for that nonsense. If I were a chav fan at that match , I would first kill myself, because that thought is too much to take, then I would demand my money back - maybe I'd have to rethink that and do it the other way round.

My daughter in law said I should support other English teams in Europe, I laughed. I want to see Barcelona totally kwiff the arse off of the chavs, kwiff them like they have never been kwiffed them before, kwiff them so hard they can't sit down for a week.

In the daft adverts before the match it says ' what does it feel like to be kwiffed?' - we can ask Conte later. What a fucking stupid name for a betting company, I think kwiffing is a slang term for some nasty sexual perversion involving hairy bottoms.

Then Dembele. 2 nil
2 million percent better game than that United nonsense last night. Messi's run and pass for the 2nd goal was a joy to watch. At least the chavs are having a go, they're going to get kwiffed up the backdoor though.

only 3-0 down. Would be nice for them to take a solid 6-0 thrashing to get them in a good head for the run in.

Alonso, diving dirty cunt. Good refereeing there, I thought it was a penalty at first but the cheating cunt did a Tom Daley. I really wanted Suarez to bite a chunk out of him.

Paulinho comes on for Barcelona, who'd have thought anyone would ever say that? What next, Sissoko at Real Madrid?

Messi's 2nd goal, his 100th in the Champions League - another fantastic bit of skill. He is great to watch, almost as good as Harry Kane.

I don't think Barcelona will be happy with their performance tonight, they let Chelsea have too much of the ball and had to defend too many chav attacks, they were playing at 60% and still won 3-0.

Talking of one man teams what are Barcelona going to do when Messi retires? He's scored 375 goals in 410 performances, truly unbelieveable but he's 30.....2-3 years left at the top maybe? Perhaps he'll go in goal?

That Swiss Tony is right on the money, his stuff is good.

I wonder if Daniel Levy factored in the Champions League money £55.5m into the Season ticket pricing? An average increase of £400 on 42,000 season tickets = £16.8m. it's nothing these days in general football finances. He could still have put prices up on average by half that, and maintained a much better relationship with the fans.

We're constantly told we've never been poorer, with near zero wage growth over the last decade and he thinks 25-50% ticket price increases is acceptable.

Get with the fucking times

New rules.

Players will be able to represent two different clubs in the same European cup competition from next season after governing body Uefa changed its rules.
As it stands, January signings cannot play for a second club in the Champions League or Europa League if they have already featured in that competition.
A fourth substitute will be allowed in extra time of knockout ties, while 12 substitutes can be named in the finals.
Some Champions League group games will kick off earlier - at 17:55 BST/GMT.
What's changed?
Registering new players:
A club may register three new eligible players without any restrictions after the group stage.
"This is in line with the existing regulatory situation in the different domestic leagues, which does not impose restrictions on the eligibility for competitions of players registered for a new club during the winter transfer window," said Uefa.
This season, Barcelona are not able to select Philippe Coutinho for their Champions League knockout ties because he featured earlier in the competition for Liverpool.
Striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang cannot play for Arsenal in their Europa League campaign because they were in the same competition as Borussia Dortmund, for whom he played in the Champions League before Christmas.
The Gunners are able to pick Henrikh Mkhitaryan because his old club Manchester United were still in the Champions League when he moved, and not the Europa League. Similarly, Alexis Sanchez, who moved to United in a swap deal with Mkhitaryan, can play as Arsenal are not in the same competition as them.
Kick-off times:
As it stands, all Champions League games kick off at 19:45 BST/GMT, although Uefa can make exceptions to this rule.
Staggered kick-off times will be introduced as standard next season.
In the group stage there will be two matches played on the Tuesday, and two on the Wednesday, kicking off at 17:55 BST/GMT.
All fixtures on the last matchday will be played simultaneously.
The rest of the matches, including all the knockout ties, will kick off at 20:00 BST/GMT.
Europa League matches from the group stage until the last 16 will kick off at 17:55 and 20:00. The quarter-finals, semi-finals and final will all kick off at 20:00.
Substitutes:
A fourth substitute may be introduced in knockout matches - but only during extra time. This will not affect the other three substitutions.
Teams contesting the Champions League and Europa League finals, plus the Uefa Super Cup, can name a matchday squad of 23 players instead of the 18 allowed in the rest of the competition.
"This gives clubs and, in particular, coaches more flexibility regarding substitutes, and facilitate their squad management for the most important fixture of the season," Uefa said.
