Man oh man, where to start. First, the performance was crap. I mean the overall effort and intensity was way off, which was odd because the supporters opened with great intensity. The mental mistakes, my gosh. On the first goal you can blame both Aurier (whom I blame more) or Sissoko (who could have at least maybe reacted). Okay fine. Then the Gazzaniga disaster. The more I've watched it, the more intentional it looks. But it just doesn't make sense. In a one goal game he was perfectly happy to let the ball bounce just outside the six yard box so he could kick Alonso. Nothing wrong with wanting to kick Alonso, but maybe wait till after the match? An aside, I really don't like the chanting at Alonso. While I think he is a douche I have no idea what that incident may have done to him mentally. Just seems a bit much to me.
Anyways, back to the abomination. Dier and Sissoko are awful together. Just the absolute worst. Moura was MIA again. Might as well play Kane at CM so he can get involved a bit. I am not even joking. As for Son, he lost his cool and the red was deserve, BUT .... the PL doe sit to themselves. Son gets stomped and raked behind the play constantly (the same for Zaha) but the league apparently can't watch game film to see what's going on. And since it's usually off the play there's no VAR review. Eventually, people crack. Son is clearly sick of it and rightfully so. But he's got to keep his cool there. Rudieger's challenge probably deserved a yellow, but it wasn't ridiculous. Probably a cumulative thing for Son, but he's gonna keep getting targeted.
And for the, in addition to Rudieger's mimicking the monkey act, he apparently told the ref that there were racist songs being sung about him from the south stand. It certainly didn't come across on TV, but you certainly saw the debris and him claiming someone made the racist monkey act. Strangely no Spurs players heard the songs, nor does it sound like anyone on here who was at the match did either? If our players heard it, they should say so. Unless it was literally just one or two dudes taunting him, but Rudieger's comments seem to indicate otherwise. All in all, the worst match in a very long time. Jose needs to sort himself quickly. He was badly out-classed by Frank. No more freaking long balls. Ah, the lone bright spot was Ndombele. He can certainly dribble and keep possession, which qualifies him as our best midfielder.
