Could that have been penalty 2.0? Not as obvious. Conte listened to me demanding Doherty and Kulu, now he needs to get little Lucas on. Bissouma can come off, I rate him just a bit better than Royal
Ermmmm spooky

That was definitely penalty number 3 and a red card. Who is this cunt iof a referee and what the fuck are the cunts of VAR doing?

So fucking frustrating. The ref was a total cunt, but we gave it away by being so fucking dismal in the first half. 90 minutes, NINETY fucking minutes is how long you have to give 100%. Three (2 absolute, definite, no controversy) penalties denied? How the fuck do these cunts get their jobs? But, like I said, we lost the game in the first half and even though we looked so fucking good in the 2nd, it was too fucking late.

Which proves, yet again that the players have the capability and can do it. But the manager..............can't.

Agreed. There's no doubt Conte is a world class manager but this just doesn't seem to be working at the moment.

I can’t believe in the pre match chat, that Conte tells them specifically to go out and not play football. What the hell do they do in training, just sit back and play back and lateral passes for a few days? Just doesn’t make sense to me.

I know he claims that Djed Spence was "the club's choice" but he's also a better fucking RB than Emerson so why isn't he getting a chance ?

Seems pretty petulant to not even play the kid.

Defensively, we are not up to the standards that Conte needs. In both half’s, we looked bad at the back, especially without Romero.

All the Conte signings are our best players, along with PEH. All the rest of leftovers who have either never been first team or where not his signings.

In one year, there has been a massive change in the results we are achieving, next comes the style we all want. We saw glimpses of it on the second half, and considering ALL our attacking/creative players were either injured/returning from injury, we did all right.

Again, mistakes cost us, bacause we are playing with players who were benched for Jan and Toby, and we have yet to replace them.

Perhaps day after day in training, Spence is not as good as the others? Look how long it took Bissouma to enter the field, and he has been a pro for much longer.

I think we may see him in the cup, I hope we get to see a full 90 of him.

That sentence doesn’t make sense, who do you think tells the players what to do? Do you think the players either ignore him and play shit in first half or vice versa in the second?

it proves fuck all. For most of the game, we were the better team, we just didn’t have the quality of players to bring on and we made shit mistakes

Perhaps you need to watch games without commentary, form your own opinions and stop sounding like Robbie…………..Savage

I get that, but I also remember reading how highly rated he was as a young talent when we signed him. I also remember reading that he was said to be trying to work out what Conte actually wanted of him so maybe that's having an effect on his training ?

Perhaps you don't understand my point and maybe you should just respect other posters opinions instead of putting them down ? Just a thought...

The players at Conte's disposal can, when instructed, go out and take the game to the opposition, create plenty of chances and get the better of good sides, just like what we saw in the second half today. So why don't they do it for 90 mins ?? Because Conte is so rigid, he won't trust them, he won't give them the freedom to do it. He only reacts as a coach, he doesn't act positively from the start.
He just can't bring himself to change and to trust the players which is the biggest reason we're losing games to any decent side. It's a waste of talent. My opinion.
If you don't think that makes sense, that's fine.

We're all on here to give opinions, have a laugh, make a comment and get behind our club. If you have a comment to make which challenges another post you don't agree with, for whatever reason, post it, but be grown up about it. Cheers.

So you actually think that Conte doesn’t allow the players to attack because he doesn’t trust them? They is absolutely no evidence of that.

You think he is rigid but has used most of the squad and changed formations when needed or when forced To due to injuries. Plus we are playing every 3 days…..

Remember, Its hard to play like it for 90 minutes as there is another team on the pitch who tries to stop you.

You say players don’t have freedom, Yet we have scored the second most goals in 2022 and joint second in the number of points won in 2022

We played these games in 2022 with Davies, Sanchez, Royal, Dier, Doherty, players that should not be in a team who wants to be challenging for the top. Plus others who have now thankfully left,

In 2 transfer windows, we have bought better players who are making a huge difference to our squad.

I am tired of this agenda against our manager and club from fans, pundits et al. How are we struggling when sitting 4th in the league yet Newcastle are amazing?

And before you say we were better under Poch, I agree, but we had better players in almost every position and other teams in the league had not reached the dizzying heights they are at now. Too many fans look at the way City and Liverpool play, and expect their team to follow. We don’t have enough quality in our squad to do this

I believe he restricts them because he will stick rigidly to his plan. When it inevitably doesn't go well against any good side he takes the shackles off and we give ourselves a chance., but by then usually it's too late.

You think he is rigid but has used most of the squad and changed formations when needed or when forced To due to injuries. Plus we are playing every 3 days…..
He's used 3-4-3, then when it became blindingly obvious we needed a 3rd midfielder he switched to 3-5-2. That's been it.

Remember Its hard to play like it for 90 minutes as there is another team on the pitch who tries to stop you.
But that's the point. With us, usually during the first hour there's fuck all to stop. If we got more of what we saw in the second half today, for longer, I guarantee you we would've got a result at Man Utd, and probably v Newcastle at the very least and that's why it's frustrating. Too much respect given to sides that haven't earned it.

No agenda against the manager and especially not the club. Just an opinion. But Levy ? Yes! Yep we're 4th, but we haven't beaten or even laid a glove on any good sides this season. We keep playing these tactics, even with a fully fit squad, we'll be looking up at the top 4. As for Newcastle, I don't think they're amazing. I think they're a well organised side that play on the front foot and coached by a good young manager. And it kills me to say it, but Arteta is another example at the scum. Both significantly smaller aquad budgets yet we can all see the difference in determination on the pitch.

And before you say we were better under Poch, I agree, but we had better players in almost every position.
Yep, i agree but with Poch there was a togetherness between players, manager and fans. We were playing great football and blitzing sides with relentless pressure. Everyone knew their job and everyone bought into the manager's philosophy.

Look, I want Conte to succeed, I honestly do but it's hard to see it at the mo. I want to be ridiculously wrong but even if we get top 4, I want us to be exciting to watch. I want us to be the team that worries everyone. At the moment, we're being picked off and not because we're not good enough but because we're inviting it.

We were definitely not the better team for most of the game, did you watch the first half? Yes, we do have the quality of players - the shit mistakes have been happening for a long time - not just in this game. Perhaps you need to stop being a dick and tossing out stupid comments like the Robbie Savage bollocks.

But how does he restrict them? Our passages of play are the same in most matches, we just quicken the pace when we are trailing. This is also to some extent helped by the other team sitting back to hold onto the lead. This is seen in all games, its the ebb and flow of football.

It dose appear as though we are slow out of the block, but I think that is because we try to build from the back into our wing-backs, but these defensive players take time to get into the swing of things. They are also error prone, which means we leave 2 Liverpool players unmarked in the 18 yard box for the first and then we give them a 1 on 1 for the second

.He's used 3-4-3, then when it became blindingly obvious we needed a 3rd midfielder he switched to 3-5-2. That's been it.

Blindingly obvious? I do not think blindingly obvious is seeing Bissouma play well for 25 minutes and then suddenly we are all experts and want to change 1 of our 3 best players (Kane, Son, Kulu) for a midfielder, who up until a few weeks ago, looked bang average. Considering the quality of the squad and where the club (not the fans) want to be, you play to your strengths until you have bought better players that allows more flexibility in formation, however Conte and shown tactically, it is not always about formation. Its where Kane drops, or we go high on one side with wing backs and even push PEH forward. The formation we play has such a small impact to how we actually play a game

We never get a result against Man Utd. Many managers and players have tried and failed. Apart from the odd freak result, it generally more about the mental application of the team more than anything else. Also remember, we battered them last season only to come up against Ronaldo in top form. Again, I also think the standard of players we have take time to get into the way Conte wants to play, which is down to the quality we have. Y

Any good sides? Beat Brighton, Draw away against Chelsea and West Ham. Yes, we lost away at Arsenal and Man Utd, but that is not new. We lost there many times playing better football. The standard of the EPL is so much higher than I believe you give it credit. Plus we are playing every 3 games with so much pressure on the players.

I agree, Arteta and Howe are good young coaches, but how long has Arteta had to get Arsenal where they are?c centainly more than 12 months with a lot more money spent than us. As for the geordies, squad budget goes out the window, just wait for Jan and the Summer

Yep, i agree but with Poch there was a togetherness between players, manager and fans. We were playing great football and blitzing sides with relentless pressure. Everyone knew their job and everyone bought into the manager's philosophy.

Players and managers are together, we pick up so many points in the last few minutes and I honestly believe they are playing for him. Also, please look at the results under Poch. Yes, we blitzed Leicester and Newcastle a few times, but we had some terrible results along the way. We also choked cup finals and title challenges.....so it wasn;t all great (although I did really enjoy it too)

If we are exciting to watch, we will not get top four. We are too defensively weak to maintain an exciting attacking level along with City, Arsenal and Liverpool (well, not this season). It will be like Ossie all over again!!!

If we want to play attacking football without the risk of losing, then we need to build up to it. Maintain a decent league position to ensure the finances keep coming into the club. Buy better players than we have and keep pushing.

Conte is, and has been for a decade, one of the most defensive-minded managers in European football. It's just not my cup of tea, and I wish we wouldn't play that way. I could go on about how it's outdated, and how almost no successful clubs in Europe play this way anymore (only Union Berlin, who have about 10% of our resources, and Atletico are anywhere near the top of their respective leagues.) I like Conte as a man, and I hope he's successful. This is very different than how I felt about the club under the CC/Antichrist Mourinho.

I've said it before, but we look very likely to finish in pretty much the position you'd expect (in both the PL and the CL) given our resources.

A bit off topic, but FSG has just put Liverpool on the market. I wonder how quickly the investment fund will sell Newcastle and turn around an buy the dippers? Under normal circumstances this would never happen, but they can literally afford to do whatever they want. They could actually buy every single club in the English pyramid and it would barely make a dent, so I am not ruling this out.
