It's hard to defend him tbh. But is he missing loads of chances like Soldado did ? He doesn't get many. But, he doesn't get himself into the game when he's not getting the service. Like Harry dropping deep to pick it up and play it out wide...Solanke stays static and becomes anonymous.

I’d say he’s been inconsistent, but he’s not the only one. I guess the question is whether he’s better in that position than Richarlison. Not sure tbh.

So, Solanke is good enough based on what...?

And if it's not his fault, who are you replacing?

Everyone else?

He is running out of hiding places in my book, he isn't contributing a fucking thing right now.

TBF I didn’t see today’s game but seen enough of Solanke to give a view bearing in mind his unfortunate injury

Who am I replacing?

Werner
Richarlison for a start but Ange is a liability so I hope that he’s gone soon and certainly by Xmas

Who would I replace Ange with?

Potter?

Dyche?

BFS?

Iraola?

All probably would set us up better and improve us

Way too early to be sacking the manager. And Dyche? 😂😂😂

The question is about Solanke, and it’s too soon to give up on him as well.

It was tongue in cheek about Dyche so you’d have BFS then?

Still think either would be an improvement though

So how long would you give Ange then?

Villa must be favourites next week although I hope we beat the Midlands Pikeys!

Oh God, just copped to who BFS was. Hope that was tongue in cheek too. Basically Id give Solanke more time and I’d give Ange more time and specifically at least another window or two. Can’t give an exact threshold—it’s a results business of course, but we’re not at the point where I’d be ready to give up on either.

As for Solanke, he didn’t do much today but he was completely starved of service, and our wide players offered next to nothing either (until, ironically, Werner came on.) It’s fair to point out that he’s not dropping deep for the ball a la Kane, but I think that’s another reason to drop Maddison for Bentancur, Sarr, or maybe even Gray. With essentially two #10s out there I imagine he’s being told to stay high.

But, like I suggested, maybe Richy can provide good competition for him in that position.

Maddison has been generally disappointing this season so far so I agree that he should be replaced by either of the trio that you suggested

Mildly shocked by today’s result as was expecting a comfortable win

That’ll teach me!

I'm still trying to work out BFS...

It stands for Big Fat Sam……

I know those two are a bit of a joke but we are going nowhere with this manager

I hear he got all defensive during his post match saying that Palace battled harder than we did and then had a go at the interviewer to deflect

This……

“From the BBC post match interview:

Interviewer: "Only because I asked you if your level dropped below what you expect and you didn't necessarily think that was the problem so...."

Ange: "No but I identified another problem which was that we didn't battle today like they did so..."

I understand that no manager who has seen his team lose wants to do these interviews, but at least talk some sense. You've just told the interviewer he's asking stupid questions and then agreed with him while trying to tell him he's wrong.”

Good GOD! I don't want to get rid of Ange...yet. He's put a smile on my face so for that alone he has credit in the bank. But if results, performances and tactics don't change and we end up 8th 9th or worse then his job has to be questioned.
However that list is like something from the walking dead.
I'd have a shortlist of Emery, Frank, Klopp, Howe or Silva. The rest can fuck off, anyway they can all fuck off until Ange is shown the door. I hope he isn't but the signs are not great if I'm honest.

He certainly put a smile on my face with the start he made last season until the wheels came off when he pursued a high press with 9 men against the Chavs of all teams!

Popular opinion since then seems to be that other teams have worked us out but there have been some good performances and I enjoyed the spell against WHam where we looked unplayable led by Son!

So do we put out our strongest side against City on Wednesday or rotate and play our strongest side against Villa?

I would play our strongest side on Wednesday in the hope that we can progress and win a cup because I honestly can’t see us getting anywhere near top 4 with this side and this manager.

We are 8th ATM 3 points behind Forest and Brighton and will probably finish 6-8th.

Obviously I would love it if we got top four at the Goons expense but can’t see it ATM.

Sadly

We're a mile off top 4...

It's a fucking chasm at this point...

We can't play consistently (unless it's utter wank against Palace) for 90 mins let alone 28 games or whatever the fuck it is to secure the grail of top 4...

This side has some bang average players in it, some cheap alternatives to the players we actually wanted/needed... And it's plain to see...

Ange has to position this side well in order to attract new players and he won't if we can't be consistent...

He says he only knows one way... Well, he better start to learn another one fucking sharpish or he will be fucked back off to Scotland or Aus before he realises it...

I like what he has done and on the whole what he tries to do... I don't necessarily want him out, but I could understand "Musolevy" calling it, if another option arose because we've somewhat stagnated...

Solankes a difficult one at the minute. Against West Ham his general play was great releasing players to attack, but on the flip side of that he has had 2 shots (both off target) in 270 minutes of premier league football.

I think that he’s the least of our problems

I agree we have other problems, however 2 goals in 9 games isn't a roaring start, but there's still plenty to go.

Thing is at the minute I wouldn't care if we started Richy or Solanke, which wasn't the plan when we bought Solanke i'd presume.

I can't wait for him to make a dick out of me though and bag a hattrick against City.

Is it Solanke or the service he’s getting?

I’ve given up on Richie but the right manager could get a tune out of Big Dom!
