We're a mile off top 4...

It's a fucking chasm at this point...

We can't play consistently (unless it's utter wank against Palace) for 90 mins let alone 28 games or whatever the fuck it is to secure the grail of top 4...

This side has some bang average players in it, some cheap alternatives to the players we actually wanted/needed... And it's plain to see...
I'm not sure about this yet. Yes, we can improve in a number of areas, and I think the club and manager probably knew that going in to the season (i.e. notwithstanding Ange's second season crack, this is a multi-year project.) There are definitely some new players who have some convincing to do. Solanke at the top of the list. And some established ones who have to be better. But I think our squad's quite a bit better than last year's.

Is it Solanke or the service he’s getting?

I’ve given up on Richie but the right manager could get a tune out of Big Dom!

Yeah service has definitely been an issue but the likes of Son, Harry, Bale etc made/make their own goals out of fuck all which trailed us through games. Need a bit more of that from Solanke over the season.

Fair enough but I’m still optimistic!

I may sound otherwise but so am I! 9 or 10 games doesn't define a player.
I agree, but it's not like we've seen an inkling there is the right player in there yet...

I think he has to get involved in games more. And if that means dropping deep or wide to get a few touches, so be it. I'd imagine Ange will scream and shout about it as he's "not in the target area", but he's not being picked out anyway so he may as well contribute to the hold up/build up play so he remembers what a football is.

We brought him for one reason... And that most definitely ain't clicked yet.

Absolutely, the one game where he showed he can contribute in build up was the Hammers game where it was all back to goal. To be honest I'd like to see the whole front line drive forward with pace because they are all quick!

We'll see at Christmas. If Chris Woods keeps going though I'll be pissed cause I wanted him at Spurs too! He's flying at the minute.

Thought he was pretty good last night. The ball he played for Werner in the second half (when he missed the 1v1) was excellent.
He was actually fantastic with his movement & relentless running off the ball.

Yeah he's a workhorse. Ran himself to a standstill last night. Apart from scoring, you can't fault his effort.
I think most of us had a soft spot for Soldado for the same reason. Never stopped trying and never hid.

The lad did well today. Might have got a hat trick if Johnson wasn't quicker than he.

Worked really hard today and got facing goal alot more. Very good performance!

Made me laugh when he spoke to the pundits at the end. Just not the voice I expected at all.

Yup he was chasing and pressing right from the kick off!

Deserved MOM!

Yeah he is a fit lad... Two well taken goals and the reason Ange wants him central and not getting involved deep or out wide...

Long may this form continue.

A week is a long time in football.

I wanted the guy before we got him and I am becoming increasingly convinced that he is exactly the player we need.

You can stick Ivan Toney up your arse. Give me big Dom any day.

So does he not suck anymore or what? Because he seems pretty useless unless he is scoring. and he hasn't done a whole lot of that this year so...

His work off the ball was excellent and his two goals were amazing but tbf he was carrying an injury early this season but he looked very strong yesterday!

Bottom line is that every striker we sign for the next few decades will be compared to Harry Kane. It's not fair but it's how it goes. Solanke is of course nowhere near that level, but he's definitely talented and willing to put in the hard yards. With more consistent service I think he can be prolific enough.

Does he need to be that prolific? Work rate and positional awareness will help with spreading the goals through the team.
I think we need a little more production from that position, especially given injury issues in the wide areas (I have an unscientific hypothesis that wingers are the most frequently-injured players in modern football).

But your point is correct--he's a good team player who improves the collective.

I think it would be a priority (after another CB) to get some back up for Johnson on the right. Son, Werner, Moore and Odebert seem better on the left.

He’s probably not going to be far off that.

His workrate is immense and that is the number one priority in this system.
Ange wanted him for his afore mentioned attributes & for the simple reason that we had one the highest number of crosses / cutbacks into the box last season. All we needed was someone on the end of them to convert.

Lest we forget he’s our record signing… it’s not to much to ask for him to be prolific
