Sorry, I disagree. Two games in a row he has been OK, not good. If we settle for OK, then we ain't going nowhere. His passing is 90% pony, his tackling is 80% ineffective, his playacting is 100% pathetic. He seems a nice, popular geezer and I would wish him well - with another club.
Just based on alasdair gold's player ratings, which I think are usually pretty fair.

Woolwich
Defended well, got in some good attacking positions and should have scored a couple of goals, once with a volley over at the back post and another with a header saved by Ramsdale. 7

Liverpool

Defended well throughout and he popped up on the left to start the move that led to Son's goal. His best display in a Spurs shirt. 9

A '7' is above average or OK in my books, not good (8 is 'good' for me)
Obviously a 9 is very good.

No it's not! Call this an argument? Ha, I'm in a grumpy mood today and everyone is wrong, whatever they say, about anything. If that Emerson bloke popped in for beer I'd give him the cheap stuff.

Another regular display today. Nothing special, but did his job.

One thing he does do well after getting caught out of position is run back and tackle well.
Made up yards of space on Reece James late on to lay on a tackle that prevented what looked like a certain goal.

WHAT???? Am I watching another bloke called Emerson? He is always out of position, wanders back casually, tackles very badly and when he does get the ball he passes it directly to the opposition. I have to say that I thought he did reasonably well at the weekend, there WERE a couple of great tackles and I did not call him a cunt once, that's a big improvement.

Is it bad that i think it's hilarious that he's missed out on the World Cup squad ?

No doubt we'll sell him and Doherty this Jan and end up playing Sanchez at RB... Spence is under Conté's patio so he can't play.

Emerson seems like a good bloke, the players like him, I like him as a human bean, he could come to my casa for Sunday tea anytime - but he is fucking hopeless as a football player. Maybe he's not and he's being used wrongly by Conte, maybe he would be better in La Liga or another team, but for his sake and ours I hope he moves on soon.

I like this, it's all true and he tries very hard and he appears to a fan as well, always first to excessively celebrate a goal. I had to have a word with a chap sitting behind me on Saturday afternoon at the Leeds game. He was loudly boo'ing Emerson after another misplaced pass and i told him to stop, it's not going to help is it, so he did. But a top Premier League right wing back he isn't. Shame.

Doherty and Kulusevski work really well together.

I agree with most of what @Dorset says along with @Don Diaz.

He seems to be very well liked by the other players & he does show a great deal of enthusiasm for the team.
As for his play, it is best to keep in mind that he was not brought in by Conte but rather by Nuno as a RB.
He's not a RWB. He's defensively sound when playing his preferred position but becomes exposed when at RWB.

Conte's system is to first & foremost, not concede.
It says a lot that he continually plays Royal ahead of Doherty & Spence despite Royal's shortcomings in that position.

I want this to be true as much as the rest of us, but is obviously bullshit.

Just spent most of a day getting drunk with my brother, who claimed all our climate change problems will disappear beacause, well we've been told there's a problem when there isn't.

I want that to be true as well. But it ain't.

Two very nice performances from him recently.

Here's to hoping our right side is figured out for the foreseeable future with him and Porro.

I like him. I reckon he's a good footballer too. And I think he works very well with Kulusevski.

So, you pricks leave him alone. All of you.

I’m still not convinced but I think he’d be miles better in a back four instead of as a wingback.
