Glad we missed Fiorentina this round. I fancy us beating them, but it would be better in a later round. They've got 'Gladbach which could be a difficult one for them.

some interesting ties
Villarreal v Roma
PAOK v Schalke
Anderlecht v Zenit St Petersburgh
united and st etienne and the fiorentina gladbach, thats 5 half decent teams going out this round at least.
The good thing is its old school 2 legged knock out cup football, surely we have a chance in that scenario??

next round will be played 16 and 23 February.
fixtures around this are
11th feb liverpool away
18th/19th feb possible fa cup 5th round fixture should we progress
26th feb stoke city home

The round of 16 will be played 9th and 16th of march
fixtures around this are
4th mar everton home
11th mar palace away or fa cup qtr final
18th mar southampton home

Thats quite a favourable set of fixtures IMO which gives some leeway in selection depending on circumstance.

quarter finals are 13th/20th april
semi finals are 4th/11th may
Fixture changes announced as a result of EL matches

FIXTURE CHANGES: Boro (H) remains Sat 4 Feb (KO 5.30pm) Liverpool (A) remains Sat 11 Feb (KO 5.30pm) Stoke (H) now Sun 26 Feb (KO 12pm)

Yeah good showing from the fans, I'm pretty surprised at that myself too though.

I hope it continues. Given we are likely playing home games at Wembley next season it is important to build some sort of fortress mentality if we again want to be fighting for the Champions League spots (or better). Given that it has taken West Ham an awfully long time to adapt to their new digs, notwithstanding our own rotten "home" from in the Champions League this season, the sooner the players feel at home playing at a different place, the better our chances in 2017/18.

Tottenham are to open up the top tier at Wembley Stadium for their Europa League tie against Gent after selling out the tickets they initially allocated.

Spurs had slashed ticket prices for their return to Europe’s secondary competition and did not initially put tickets for the upper tiers on sale after seeing over 20,000 fans stay away for their final Champions League group game of the season, a dead rubber against CSKA Moscow.

Tickets for the Europa League last 32 game were available for as little as £5 to season ticket holders and members whilst even the general public could snap up a seat for £10.

A family package for two adults and two children could be available for £20 when Tottenham open up the top tier.

Apparently Ajax winning couldbe beneficial to us being in pot 2 instead of pot 3 in CL draw. Not that I need that as an excuse!!

Sadly, this final has gone almost exactly according to script. Shit dull football wins.

Absolute borefest mate.

Exactly what Mourinho offers.
Sadly for the rest of the world he gets results in these types of games.

You will never see FIFA using Mourinho to advertise "The Beautiful Game".
