So since everybody is fucked off with the stadium situation, I thought we might change tack and discuss a few favourite films and actors. He's some to start the little grey cells working (I fucking hate David Suchet in Poirot by the way, but not as much as that recent Kenneth Branagh version)
How about some Oscars?
Favourite film of all time : Silence of the Lambs (close seconds Midnight Express, Jaws, Godfather and Pretty Woman lol)
Favourite actor of all time: Jack Nicholson - One flew over, as good as it gets etc etc etc
Favourite actress: Meryl and Julia Roberts for different reasons!
Favourite TV series: Oooh Porridge? Only Fools & Horses? Monty Python? I'm going for BlackAdder.
Favourite Franchise: Bond
Favourite Director: ummm Coen brothers
Never been affected by a film until I saw 'Jaws' aged about 12, now I defy anyone who has seen it to say they don't think about sharks when the go in the sea or hear a clip of the music in their head, Numbers 2,3,4,5,6,7, or whatever they went up to were shit. The first one and the book were brilliant.
Then Silence of the Lambs came along and at the end of an unbelieveable acting masterclass from Anthony Hopkins and Jodie Foster you left the cinema feeling the urge to do something immediately fun and frivolous - it was such a powerful film, at last for me. A pancake and some beers in Ealing did the trick.
More recently loved 3 Billboards.......

Dead Poets Society “ oh captain my captain “ , Police Acedemy 1 ( always need a good laugh) or life of Brian or Coming to America for Action The Terminator 1/2 or Die Hard 1+2 ., Friday the 13th and Halloween and Glengary Glenross and Twelve Angry Men , and for a shite film you can’t resist seeing Tremors
1st X rated film I saw , was Rollercoaster 1977/8 , so I was 12/13 , how’d I get in I don’t know , still love theme parks though and there’s not a ride I wouldn’t go on , and “Sparks” who featured in it .
Scariest movie ever....... 1st time of watching Chitty Chitty Bang Bang came out in 1968 , so I’d have been 3/4 and that child catcher gave me the willies for years., also the Toot Sweet song was filmed in a building along the A316 , by Kempton Park
Other films I love The Original, The Omen 1976 , partly because the house is in the village I was born , and not long after, I used to deliver newspapers to it , as it was an old people’s home....... it has also a classic film error, right at the end, the policeman guarding the house said on his Wilkie talkie , “ yes the ambassador has just left with the child and he’s heading towards Seven Hills Road ........blimey , it’s 5 miles away and he could have been heading back to Guildford cathedral ....... you’ll notice I like watching films and thinking , I recognise that building .
Favourite comedies , throughout the decades Citizen Smith ( watch it now its shite ) Porridge , Blackadder , OFAH , and the Vicar of Dibley ( yup I’ve been to that village too , for a drink - it’s up the m40 above High Wycombe .
I like most things Robin Williams Bruce Willis and Arnie have been in and best film score Carmen Buranai by Carl Orf in The Omen .......
Films I’ve never seen Star Wars , Oceans 11-31 !! , and yup ashamed to admit The Godfather trilogy......it’s on my todo list, it’s just the TV never seem to show them in order, over a 3 day period .
If I did that list in 6 months it would probably change

The Blues Brothers is the film I have watched the most times, love it and the music. Tarantino of course, Pulp Fiction, Kill Bill 1& 2, From Dusk Till Dawn (screenplay) were great, I wasn't arsed with Django unchained and the Hateful 8. Like you said above The Vicar Of Dibley was brilliant, I always watch that agin when it appears on Dave.
There were some cracking British comedy shows when I was alive : Fawlty Towers, The Two Ronnies, Morecambe And Wise, Dinner Ladies, Allo Allo, Dad's Army, Open All Hours, Only Fools And Horses ,Are You Being Served, Father Ted, Men Behaving Badly, One Foot In The Grave, Porridge, Red Dwarf, Rising Damp, The Rise And Fall Of Reginald Perrin, The Good Life, Yes Minister, Yes Prime Minister.
I am waiting for a small angry chap to take objection to my list of British shows, there's one in there that doesn't quite fit.

Yer Di Caprio geezer bloke is all right I think, The Departed, J Edgar, Catch Me If You Can, The Wolf Of Wall Street, The Revenant make up for fucking Titanic - especially J Edgar.
I like one of the Scientology twats, Tarvolta, he's done some good acting, but Tom fucking Cruise gets right on my thrupnies. I picked Di Caprio because he seems a bit different, not playing the same character over and over. I could have picked Alastair Sim, but nobody under 100 would have heard of him. Sean Penn was good but I think he's jacked it in now? Robert De Niro could have won, Tommy Lee Jones, Gary Oldman, Geoffrey Rush, Mathew McConaughey, Anthony Hopkins, Tom Hardy, Harvey Keitel - all on my list. Nicolas fucking Cage ain't on my list. Donald Pleasence used to terrify me when I was a kid, he was scared as fuck.
It's really hard to pick one, there are hundreds of good actors so as long as it ain't Cage or Cruise I'm happy with any of them.
