Thinking of watching this tonight what you think @skiathospurs ???
Ah, a masterpiece of modern cinematography! Jackson's portal of the FBI agent Neville Flynn can be compared to Olivier's King Lear, it is a majestic tour de force, an example of a great thespian at the peak of his craft. The plot is complex and challenging, demanding the viewer does not prejudge the deeper concept that at a higher level may seem ridiculous to the less educated viewer. When one fully understands where the director is taking us then the journey into the metaphysical 'snakes' on board our own personal plane becomes clearer.

Just watched "arrival",very weird surreal not a lot of action in it but really liked it,one of those films you try&get your head round after, cant say too much about what im trying to get my head round cos it could spoil it.
Based on a book "the story of your life",which I should think is pretty good?I know Ire likes to read.
It was ok seen the twist coming a mile away but still enjoyed it

I've watched a few of late that are fairly new.

Passengers. Wasn't what I expected at all. The as shows alot of action but this is far from the truth. It's basically Titanic in space only without the cool ship sinking scene (this wasn't cool in real life but very good movie scene).

The girl on the train. Started off slow but I have to say it's a very good movie. Nice twist to!

Hacksaw Ridge. Wow what a film. The geezers religious beliefs were annoying me at the start but what a hero he was! One of those stories I knew nothing about but fascinating to see.

Pete's Dragon. Absolute gem of a film. Great wee Sunday movie or family film.

A monster calls. I didn't enjoy this one. To doom and gloom for me really. A nice idea though.

Greater. Again great film. Brilliant true story and not knowing much about the ins and outs of American football it was really interesting. Actually just witnessed my first game while in Miami. Went and seen the dolphins get torchered by the Patriots.

Saw 'Arrival' on the weekend as well.
I was looking forward to it as it got a lot of hype around here. For me, it was just 'good' with an interesting ending & for a change, a nice message..
To be fair, I didn't catch all of the dialogue because it was fairly noisy at times during the screening.
I thought more could have been done with it.
And I guess seeing the depiction of the extraterrestrials was a bit disappointing.

Then again, the ones in the 'Alien' series had simply disturbed my sleep for decades. Over it now but I made the mistake of dealing with it on my own lol.

I've seen Lion and Revenant recently. Lion was good if a bit predictive (I know it's a true story) parts of it reminded me of Slumdog, Revenant was a slog for DiCaprio and us watching.

Bit late to the party but I watched Deadpool the other day. Took me a bit of time to get into it but not bad. The second Captain America film nearly put me to sleep, I think it took me about about 4 hours to watch it because I kept zoning out and having to rewind. Deleted the Revenant without watching, didn't fancy it in the end.

I did however watch See No Evil Hear No Evil for the zillionth time. Always funny, Comedy perfection.

About to start one of, Blacklist season 3, Banshee from the beginning, The Night of, Fortitude, Billions, The Wire, or Westworld.

Does anybody know if Black Sails is any good? I watched the first 3 series, but is it worth watching series 4? Nobody has mentioned it so I thought I'd ask.

We're off to Majorca for an Easter break tomorrow so I have downloaded it just in case, along with the Night Manager which I somehow missed on normal telly. Mrs D wants to watch the Rio Ferdinand documentary, I've downloaded that as well but I am worried it will set my hay fever off and people will think I'm not a big tough bloke because my eyes will get all watery.
