- Tottenham Hotspur are willing to pay Harry Kane's release clause, which sources told ESPN is worth €60 million, and meet the wages required to bring the striker back from Bayern Munich, according to TEAMtalk. The 32-year-old is reportedly keen to return to the Premier League in a bid to chase down Alan Shearer's league record of 260 goals, having scored 213 himself before moving to Germany. Manchester United also want to sign Kane and view him as a key player for their rebuild, but any chances of signing the England international hinge on improving their league position

I think him coming home is more likely now that the Dark Lord has gone because we probably would pony up the money.

48 goals to break the record though. Even for him I'd wager that's two seasons.

€60m is peanuts for a player of his ability... How in fucks name is it so low, and just because we triggered it it doesn't mean they will let him go for that...

He is a key player and serious statement signing for almost any club...!!!

That's a player others would come to play with and we'd need (and I imagine he would need a guarantee of) more players coming into help him do his job of hitting the old onion bag...!

Trouble is... Wages would destroy our structure, he could make more money and win more trophies in other leagues, we're not close to a trophy any time soon and therefore may not be his best bet of breaking that record... He would have to want to come back here, and only here as we wouldn't win a bidding war for him...

Oh and what do we do if he goes on strike again...!!!

I personally would be surprised--not shocked--if he came back. But I will say I really think we'd be on about 18 points right now (i.e. top of the league) if we had a world-class goal scorer up top. It's not the only gap in our squad, but it's the biggest by a country mile.

We are supposedly in talks to bring him back this summer. We're the hell have these Lewises been for the last 20 years? LEVY OUT!

I do wonder what the squad would think if he came in on something stupid like £300k a week.

You'd like to think they'd recognise that we'd be (re)signing a truly one of a kind world class player so would need to pay him the appropriate wages so nobody would really kick off about it.

He'll be back....

The dishonourable gobshite is gone and he's got a record to get. Unfinished business must be finished.

I think they would be fine about it. Improves the team, improves their chances on winning bling .

I’ve been in the ‘that ship has sailed’ camp on this but it does occur to me that if he was going to return to the PL, where else would he go?

Unless Haaland fucked off for Madrid, and there’s no reason to think he will, he wouldn’t go to city. Arsenal would be a no, and I’d think Chelsea would be too. He’d be a fool to go to Man United unless something changes drastically there.

I'm of the same opinion, however he will look at this pragmatically and decide on who gives him the best chance to beat that record... We're reasonably well positioned on that front and the new managerial regime would love a marquee signing like him to be on their résumé...

Where were lacking is that creative CM to feed the wide and forward players... Get that sorted and he'd slot into position like Germany never happened...

I'm not sure it's even a thing and it's not just a massive dollop of clickbait to get everyone chatting shit about it...

Could we get Sonny back too...?
