Can't say I remember seeing him play but some of the journos had him as Ligue 1 player of the year for 22-23. From the Guardian:

Player of the season: Kevin Danso, Lens

Anchoring Lens’ fierce three-man backline – which conceded just 29 times, by far the best record in Ligue 1 – was Austrian centre-back Kevin Danso, who influenced more results than anyone else this season. Astute, proactive, physical, mobile and still just 24, Danso is ready for Europe’s elite. His fellow defender, Jonathan Gradit, and midfield sentinel, Salis Abdul Samed, also have strong claims here.

Yet he was still at Lens 18 months later.

He must’ve gotten this morning’s news about the Beyoncé shows
The way I’ve been reading it is that he doesn’t want to leave Bayern and just wants to play football so that’s why it’s a loan with no (current) option to buy.

And we certainly need help now rather than in the summer so if he can come in and even help us win something then it’s a good move all round.

Levy is still a cunt though.

Yeah, it does seem like a good move for all. Still hope we can sign the boy Dibling from Southampton, he’ll get snapped up by someone else in the summer.

I suppose it's entirely possible this loan could mean that Werner will be off this month as well.

If Tel takes up residence on the RW, Deki moves into the middle and Johnson could, in theory, cover Sonny on the left which means no room for Werner.

I kind of assumed this would be the case with Moore's return to fitness

Much better.
Option to buy.

Depends who's right - Romano tweeted about 12 minutes after that that we're "pushing" for an option to buy.

Although Ali Gold has just tweeted that we've "inserted" the option to buy and are ready to wrap up the deal so I think it'll be better to wait until he's holding the shirt at this rate.

Chris Cowlin saying that it was only a loan has been misreported.

He also says there is an option.

The fact that Ange got involved and that was what changed Tel’s mind…well that tells me that Ange is going nowhere.

I was thinking that as well, even with the other defender coming in. It certainly looks like he'll be given until the end of the season at least.

I suspect Ange will be given the first 10 games of next season too. Levy will (hopefully) want to see what happens with a fit, well-rested squad.

Ornstein confirms option

Safe to assume the player himself has to agree if the option is exercised?

Doesn't much matter, since we don't want the cunt if'n he doesn't want to stay. And if we can't convince him before the appointed hour, then we'll have bigger problems to attend to.

The selling club & arriving player both need to agree to the terms of option by signing in advance.
Given that it's a 6 year term, looks like that talk with Ange convinced him that he should be here for the long term.

We now have the luxury of testing him out for the remainder of this season. If we like, we exercise the option. If not, he can go back. But Tel has now committed to us & has no further say.
