I think it's going to have to get much worse for him to go. We know Levy likes shiny toys and he's utterly incapable of seeing the writing on the wall.Conte can go. Our overall results this season are fraudulent.
I've been busy recently and haven't taken the time to comment here on matches for a few weeks, but I've seen at least a good chunk of all games and the events at Old Trafford mirror much of what has happened in all the other games.
I find it hard to point the finger of blame towards any of the players (except Emerson, but he's not really a football player, is he?) because they are are all at least quite good, and trying very hard to do exactly what they are being instructed to do. It it the constant instruction that is the problem.
If a midfielder receives the ball in the center circle and wants to go forward, he won't, because he's not allowed to. Antonio is yelling at him to pass it to a CB in order to drag the opposition out. The CB must then pass it to the wingback to either carry forward or pass it straight back to the CB. In Antonio's mind, eventually a golden opportunity will present itself to either one of our lightning fast wingbacks or one of our pinpoint-passing CB's to get it to Harry or Sonny who will definitely score. It is not in the plan for a midfielder to pass it to Harry or Sonny - that would be WRONG!
Because everyone already knows that's what we are going to do (doesn't matter if it's 3-4-3 of 3-5-2),they pressure us into playing tiki-taka around our own box, until eventually we give it to someone already under pressure who is forced to lump it upfield. Occasionally the lumped ball will land on Harry, and he'll score, what a brilliant plan we've hatched. but most of the time, it will be too far from Harry or go to Sonny and bounce 5 yards off his shin.
Conte's post-match interview consisted of him saying "We must be better in these moments", and of course he is right. Let's start with you, Antonio, shut up and let them play, or get a better plan. They are grown men and pretty good at football, all you need to do is to encourage them to do what they are good at, not try to turn Hugo into Luca Modric or Sonny into Joe Jordan. Be a coach/manager, not a kid trying to control all the buttons on his game controller.
Can't wait until Deki's back - he seems to be the only one who says "bollocks to your rules, Antonio". So he'll probably be sold in January.
Where did he say thst ?Conte saying he wanted the players to āwaste more timeā against United by kicking the ball out of the stadium or staying down longer if injured.
If this is what Conte is all about then I am not interested. He should actually be sanctioned for such comments because they are not in the best interests of the game.
The fans own the sport and I know of nobody who wants to see players pretending to be hurt to milk the clock. Conteās position on this is deplorable.
Itās one of those things that everyone does, but you donāt come out and say it. Think itās just that it exemplifies the overall negativity of the team under Conte.Conte saying he wanted the players to āwaste more timeā against United by kicking the ball out of the stadium or staying down longer if injured.
