My take on Hugo and this match,I really doubt his head can be 100% correct and focused on football,if he doesnt play then he doesnt travel,last thing he needs is more exposure and pressure.For me even though clearly he is the better keeper and I am not talking morally here,punishment and such,he just cant be properly focused and will get pelters from the press,social media and united fans.
I remember Shilton coming to spurs the day the NOTW broke the "wifebeater story",one of the only times in the 80s i left the shelf for the park lane,lots of us did and we gave him such stick,southampton conceded five and even though he was my country`s #1,we gave him such grief,not because of moral outrage which would have been justified,but because a good old pisstake and chance to really put him off his game and see what he was made of was too good to miss.Thats football fans for you.Happened many a time to our rivals,john terry allsorts of incidents,dennis wise taxi and waving money at him, a good chant or laugh at a rival is never far away,anyone go to venables 1st game a NLD no less??the away fans with a blow up doll being tossed around to just put the knife in a bit more over david pleats women of the night kerb crawling episode that forced him to go.
Leave Hugo back in london and let the team focus on the game and not the Lloris story is what I think,let the storm disapate a bit,next weekend a different story will hog the headline,hopefully Jose walking!!
