Really just need to score, made enough chances,Son is ripping them on the left,if only he had Rose flying past him.Score one we`ll get more.
Not sure BT arent going a bit over the top over the Valdes incident, credit to Dele for not rolling around like a lot of nonces would.

He's played in two corners that we were very unlucky not to score on, Toby's flick in particular. The issue for me is really the predictability of them--we always seem to try to play to the near post, which is not that hard to defend.

Yes there were two that were unlucky but there were at least 10 that werent, eriksen cannot play it deep without it being loopy! And we had a really dangerous position and he couldnt clear the 2nd defender

And actually if you look at the one toby hit the post on it was actually too short for toby to really do anything

Thats 7 wins in a row at the lane and 1 goal conceded in the last 6.Thought we bossed everything except putting the ball away,we should have scored 4.Its ok winning one nil,but my heart would prefer some leeway when we play.!
Thought Son was very good, dembele and wanyama look a great pair in midfield.A win,no more injuries, arse lost, liverpool lost,no point ruining a decent saturday evening looking for a negative cos we didnt score a few more.

Those possibly fearing Anfield should look at it from the other perspective.
What should Liverpool & their fans be thinking?

We are on an eleven game unbeaten run not having lost since early December while they are on a 5 game winless streak losing 2 of their last 3. Probably meltdown time on their fan sites.

Well I had a great time. A little walk around the groundS a scanby burger, a good old sing song and a Spurs win. What more can a man ask for? Oh no West Stand numpties in the Park Lane would be nice. I'd had enough and asked the bloke if he usually sat in the West Stand in the end, he asked if I was wnjoying the game xos he wasn't! I know a little girl at home who would have loved to xome along so mate if you ever read this PUT BOTH TICKETS UP FOR SALE NEXT TIME!

Aaaaanyway...

I thought we played really well and from where I was there was only inches in a few of those chances. On another day it qould have been 4 - 0 and well deserved. MOUSSA and Wanyama is a beastly partnership in midfield perhaps even the beastliest!

Onwards and upwards I'm off to check the scud thread...

I`ll take any advantage going into saturdays game, momentum, fans muttering/groaning and a nervous atmosphere,a manager looking at how we play instead of their own plan, players out of confidence taking extra touches.....any advantage because it will be difficult and also so important to get a result for us.
Reason to be cheerful is we played at city who are a far more formidable team going forward and in defence and didnt lose.
This thread was before you found us again and got buried in an avalanche of draws and a loss at chelsea, https://www.properspursy.com/talk/threads/can-you-win-the-premier-league-without-a-defence.229/ but the premise still holds.Only us and chelsea have anything resembling a champions defence, and out of the pack of 4 chasing us liverpool probably the worst.I will concede chelsea (atm) are the best team in the league, the table doesnt lie,and IMO they are only better than us through experience as players and the last decade of winning things as a club, player for player as we showed we are more than a match for them. However,we are absolutly the best of the rest and the table doesnt lie there either,we are still in with a shout of 3 trophies, liverpool are in with a chance of top 4 only.

I would imagine RAWK is in full meltdown, lovely stuff!!

That's why Middlesbrough have one of the best defensive records in the premier League they are fucking hard to score against, but we did, happy days, 3 points to us, 0 points to the scum, 0 points to the dippers. Triffic.

I didn't think they were all that bad either, two chances (IIRC) created from 11 corners (including at least one played short, again IIRC) isn't great, but about average. Eriksen fails to beat the first man a lot, but when it does it results in a chance.

Spot on about Kante v. Wanyama. Kante is fantastic, but Wanyama was better at WHL.

2 from 11 about average? I know i may be critical but i call that not good enough! You win titles by your set pieces! Utd did with Beckham, chelsea did with lampard! At the moment i think Eriksen is poor in his set piece play

I'd agree that his set pieces could be better, it's an ongoing joke about our corners and he's certainly due a free kick to go in. But they are a long way from woeful, Toby hit the post from a corner today and generally they weren't that bad and haven't been recently. Eriksen is also crucial to the variety and distribution in attack, where he is playing beautifully with Son, Kane and Dele. If we want to be uber critical - which would be churlish and unnecessary on a day when we cemented second place - then those three should have come up with a couple more goals today.

If however you have any concerns take a look at the league table, games lost, goals conceded, goal difference, points and league position.....or could only get better by 1 place....any other year we'd be top! So Spursy!!!
