Here`s some info on corners, the data is for last season,I cant be arsed to search high&low for stats this year, nothing was obvious on a search.2 from 11 about average? I know i may be critical but i call that not good enough! You win titles by your set pieces! Utd did with Beckham, chelsea did with lampard! At the moment i think Eriksen is poor in his set piece play

there have been 3,189 corners in the Premier League this season, and they have resulted in 96 goals. That's a three per cent chance of a goal from a corner so next time your team gets one at the death when they need a goal, don't get too excited.
No one is saying we couldnt do better, but corners are not as effective for all sides nowadays, cant all be down to delivery, zonal defending all the rage, all the grappling blocking thats all the rage too.Its clearly a plan to hit the near post area both toby and dier have had success previously with this.Obviously teams know this and try to prevent this scenario and thats why we hit the 1st man so often.I am pretty sure this accounts for how it appears? Also it has to be inch perfect with pace for it to work which is no mean feat. The further the ball travels, the more chance the keeper or defenders have of clearing it,probably this is the thinking?Every team defends corners better now and every pundit will say a goal from a corner is from a defensive lapse no matter how good the delivery.Son,Walker,Lamela,Trippier,Davies have all taken corners too,I dont remember any of them being that much better or resulting in goals.
Thats my take anyway, its low hanging fruit to expect so much from what is no longer much of a threat for any attacking side.I would say penalties awarded for the foul play is probably around 50% of the amount actually scored,or so it seems.
