Deki desperately needs a break. He’s run himself into the turf for months and it’s caught up with him.

I think, when we are putting g ourselves into trouble, it’s been quite even.

Considering how much better they should be than us.

Bergvhal has been excellent again.

Bergvall is a bit of a shithouse. Gives off real Lamela vibes.

With that little pirouette clockwise turn on the outside if his right boot, he gives me a Scotty Parker vibe too...!!!

Poor 2nd half from both teams really, low quality.

Again, full strength Spurs would get something from this

I know he hit the post, but should not be shooting from there

United beat Southampton tomorrow and we’re 14th.

Palace beat West Ham on Saturday and we could go in to Sunday’s game in 15th place.

I haven’t had a chance to read the above, but the group chat is all blaming refs. I don’t accept. Play better. Be better. Don’t allow refs to change result of the game.

Nah, no harm in fans having a moan about an obviously shit decision that affected the game. If players are using it as an excuse that’s another thing.

Saying that, we weren’t good enough, just struggled to really turn up the pressure late when we ought to have been piling men into their third. If I was a neutral I’d say it was a very professional performance by them, although one lacking in quality.

Ref had fuck all to do with it mate...

We were lightweight, weak, bullied off the ball far too easily, they wanted it more and all over the park have much better players than we do...

You have to wonder what happens if the medical staff go to Ange and tell him the likes of Solanke, Deki, Sonny e.t.c.. must be rested or else they could burn out.

I know we keep saying it, but Porro is absolutely shattered right now. Has to get a rest. Dodged a bullet when he got tied in knots by that Cruyff turn.

Also, I’d like to see Richy start in place of Solanke now that he’s returned. Its not that I think he’s all that much better, he just brings a bit of energy and shithousery that we need. Really tried to affect the game.

Ange needs to re-evaluate how we play out from the back. In theory I am all for it and when it works, it really works. It just seems like we continue to recycle the ball across the back and when options further afield present we still opt for the safer pass. This is allowing opponents to really push up on us. I think that the lack of genuinely quick wide men who are dangerous is killing us. Not one of our starting wings is good enough to hold teams to account when they take liberties with the press. The long pass into space is not an option right now given the lack of weapons at our disposal.

Son - lost that lethal pace, rarely beats a man these days.
Johnson - not the speedster he was advertised as. Doesn’t take on his opponent.
Deki - better inside, holds the ball up well but isn’t overly quick.
Timo - quick, takes on a man and then fluffs his lines.

Odobert may be that guy but this game was crying out for Mikey Moore who is still coming back so can understand why he took no part.

It also doesn’t help that our midfield “enforcer” Bissouma is nothing of the sort. He is supposed to be the guy who holds the ball and gets himself out of tight situations (a necessity in our system) but he’s all duck and no dinner in reality.

Agree about the issue with wide players, it doesn’t let us stretch the field like needed when we’re trying to build up. Also I think the best midfield player we have to get the ball in the pivot without losing it is currently playing CB. Bissouma is one of those who does a lot of things OK but nothing particularly well. When our CBs return I’d like to see Gray get a run at the #6 position.

On a brighter note, Bergvall…oh boy, that kid is a serious talent.

He may very well end up our best player. Maddison should be very nervous.

Honestly I think Maddison is probably a good role model for a kid like Bergvall. He’s far from a consistent performer but you can tell to hear him speak that he has a great mind for the game. Plus in these videos of training the PR wing of the club puts out you always see him interacting with young players.

Really, as bad as things have been this season I’ve been more engaged than I’ve been in a long time. Part of it is that for better or worse the games are often absolutely mental. But I’m also really optimistic about these young players, especially Gray, Bergvall, and Moore.

He plays them...

Managers decision at the end of the day if the player agrees...

That's what I commented on in another thread, who has the final say and what happens if Ange chooses to ignore/override it.

Ultimately however we don't have a good enough squad, 2nd team, youth set up to compete on this level right now which is why our form is akin to relegation fodder...
