Tottenham Hotspur have lined up a friendly against Serie A champions Juventus at Wembley Stadium to help them settle into their new home, according to reports in Italy.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino has previously spoken about the need to get some training sessions in at the national stadium - where Spurs will spend a season before their move to their new 61,559-seater stadium alongside the site of White Hart Lane.

He had hoped to play a game there and according to Italian media outlet La Stampa, fellow Champions League side Juventus will provide the opposition on August 5.

That's a good game to warm up with if true.

That's old school Rev, those type of fixtures rarely happen any more.
We still normally send a "tottenham XI" more PR and normally whilst the 1st team is on tour somewhere.

Club to face Italian champions Juventus
Posted on 4 July 2017 - 14:00

We are pleased to announce that our first team will face Juventus in a pre-season friendly at Wembley Stadium, connected by EE, on Saturday, August 5, kick-off 5.30pm.
The fixture against the reigning Serie A winners and UEFA Champions League finalists, hosted by Relevent Sports, will be our final match before the start of the new Premier League season, which will see us play all of our home matches at the national stadium.

Coached by Massimiliano Allegri, Juventus have been Italian league champions on 33 occasions including the past six seasons consecutively and their squad includes leading names such as Italy and World Cup winning goalkeeper Gianluigi Buffon, strikers Gonzalo Higuain and Paulo Dybala as well as Mario Mandzukic.

Both clubs will compete in the International Champions Cup in the United States in July, prior to meeting at Wembley.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “This match will form an important part of our preparations, particularly with the Premier League season starting just a week later. We met Juventus in Australia during pre-season last year and it was a highly competitive game, very useful for us, and we expect a similar game this year at Wembley.”

Relevent Sports have selected Ticketmaster as their ticketing partner for this fixture and general admission tickets, as well as Club Wembley Premium Seats and places in the Bobby Moore Club, go on sale to Spurs fans from today by registering via this link.

Please note: Supporters will need to create a new account to purchase tickets for this fixture via the 'Create Account' link within the ticketing microsite. Your usual Tottenham Hotspur eTicketing login details will not work on this platform.

Additionally, the telephone sales lines information is as follows:

TELEPHONE SALES LINE: 0844 453 9050. 8am – 8pm, Mon – Fri, and 8am – 6pm, Saturday and Sunday.

CUSTOMER SERVICE: 0333 321 3126. 9am – 5pm, Mon – Fri.

They've made a huge cock up with their pricing. We could get Juventus in a champs league game and pay a similar price...

Apparently its same deal as last season when liverpool played barca there.Relevant sports hire the stadium and invite the teams, charge what they like (as is their right),liverpool tickets last year did start at £26,but having just browsed through rawk about the match, many there werent happy paying 50 quid for tickets, however that fixture did pull nearly 90k,but Juve arent barca and messi.
The club has nowt to do with pricing/ticketing for this fixture, all the same week they are trying to flog Sts to those who just bought a membership!and sell new kit at £60 a shirt, not really thought this out have they.Twitter is going bonkers, poor thst just repeating they have nothing to do with this, but sounding very pissed off!

I thought the club did very well with the ticketing 'packages' for CL last year and it meant a sell out or almost for the three games (people just chose not to attend the CSKA game, the tickets were sold). The problem this time around is that they have tried to sell Wembley to 41,000 by using the hook of a ST at the new stadium, when people have apparently decided that there is enough capacity, as mentioned above, for them to see the games they want with existing memberships and loyalty points.

The only way forward now for the club, is to bundle groups of matches (in the same way as the CL games last year) incuding a feature game in each bundle, but at a reasonable price. So for example £75 might get you, Chelsea, Southampton, Burnley, or Liverpool, Everton and WBA...that sort of thing. If I was revenue manager that's how I'd do it anyway. You could use Arsenal to sell Huddersfield and Leicester for example and so-on. Finally there might be individual match tickets left for £30 - £90 depending on the opponent.

£45.00 for Juventus is just too much for a pre-season friendly.

45 quid. Holey moley that's well expensive for alot of light tackles, lots of Italian defending and players gaining fitness.
