Was watching that game this morning. Speedy recovery Ryan. WTF is that Cahill's head made out of. Just another reason to add that rather long list of mine to why I hate Chelsea.
Good weekend for Arsenal who were once again handed 3 points by a poor referee decision. Smaller teams this season can't seem to catch a break. Hull should have also had a penalty when the score was 1-0 only.
Weekend results played out almost as I expected, only Liverpool stuffed up, so that was a little bonus for us. Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool all play each other (I think) in the next two weeks. We just need to keep our heads down and pick up maximum points against Sunderland and Middlesbrough and then see what the table looks like. I think it's going to take a monumental stuff up from Chelsea to lose that lead. Only thing we can hope for is that Arsenal and Liverpool pull their shit together and beat them.... Minimum draw for anyone *cough* (us) to catch them.

The Club can confirm that Ryan Mason sustained a skull fracture in our fixture at Chelsea this afternoon.
He was taken to St Mary’s Hospital where he has undergone surgery.
Ryan is in a stable condition and is expected to remain in hospital for the next few days.
Everyone at the Club would like to express their sincere thanks for the excellent and swift care given to Ryan by both the Accident and Emergency department and Neurosurgery Unit at St Mary’s Hospital.
Terrible for him&his family,wish him a full recovery.

I reckon that was a good weekend for us, yes really, no don't laugh.
Realistically nobody would have been too surprised if we had lost at City, a point was a good result. Who expected Swansea to beat Liverpool? No fucker did. Stoke drawing with United was slightly easier to predict but still 2 points dropped by United I reckon. I am getting past being angry about the scum getting dodgy points through incompetent officials, it has happened so many times this season and the FA won't ever get it sorted so we just have to try even harder, like we do in each match when we know the ref isn't going to help us - except 'one of our own Deano' of course.
If in an alternative universe the results had gone as expected then we would be 5th just 2 points ahead of United and the points would have looked like this:

I am not remotely arsed about catching Chelsea, it would be nice but I really can't see them slipping up that much, all we need to do is to get as many points as we can and to win the FA Cup, I expect the 'Tinpot Tommies' will still celebrate even though they think it is just a distraction. We might as well win the Europa League while were at it, just for a bit of extra Wembley practice.

I agree this weekend was pretty good for us in the grand scheme of things.
In my excellent
january preview thread,I said 9 pts this month would be ok,now that may seem like aiming a bit low,but 9pts from a possible 15 is top 4 every year in the long run over a season.Getting to 10pts with a game left is great for our top 4 chances,especially playing away at citeh and home to chelsea in that run.In the even more amazing balls february preview coming soon,you will see that another month like this will dare I say leave some others around us floundering,just wait and see I tell you!!If we can dispatch sunderland,who like burnley&hull/swansea now appreciate they are fighting for their lives and wont be easy,then that nasty liverpool away becomes a free hit in some respects,and only leaves us the scum and manure at home to deal with from the sky big 5.And being how emotional those two matches will be, last at home and all,I am sure we will sweep them away with how the crowd will be.To think some had us nailed on for 6 or 7th,they must be delighted!!oh wait no they probably wont being numpty retards.

Captain Hugo Lloris says Tottenham’s 2-2 draw at Manchester City shows the progress they have made, stating that in previous seasons the Lilywhites would have succumbed to a heavy defeat against Pep Guardiola’s side.
Lloris was a member of the Spurs teams that lost 6-0 and 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium in 2013 and 2014 – results which sandwiched a 5-1 reverse against the same opponents at White Hart Lane.
Another thrashing looked possible in Saturday’s latest showdown in Manchester. Having survived a first-half onslaught, Tottenham conceded twice in the opening 10 minutes of the second period, and it seemed their evening was only going to get worse.
However, Dele Alli and substitute Heung-Min Son scored with Spurs’ only efforts on target in the match and Mauricio Pochettino’s men grabbed a valuable point.
“We talked with each other at the end of the game and it’s a big change from the past,” said Lloris. “Maybe three years ago we would have lost and suffered a bad defeat, especially after going 2-0 down.
“The first goal we conceded was a bit unlucky, the second one was a mistake - my personal mistake - and maybe we would have given up. But not any more.
“In the last two or three seasons we’ve changed our mentality and we’ve shown it here. Even on a bad day, it’s a great point.
“We were aware of Liverpool’s result (a 3-2 loss at home against Swansea) before the game. Of course that was good for us and it was a chance to make up points.
“But we are more focused on ourselves. The most important thing is that we didn’t lose against one of the challengers for the top four.”
Lloris had a nightmare five-minute spell when City established their two-goal lead, first failing to cut out a long ball with an attempted header and gifting Leroy Sane an open goal and then fumbling a routine low cross, allowing Kevin De Bruyne to finish at close range.
However, the Frenchman feels he showed his own mental strength in the following 40 minutes – and the skipper’s willingness to discuss his personal performance after the match also displayed his character.
“We’re in a position where a little mistake that can have a big consequence, like in this game,” said Lloris. “It’s not my first time and it will not be my last time. This is the responsibility of the keeper.
“But even after 2-0 down, I think I was still in the game. I was still alive, like my team-mates, and I feel much better because we got a point at the end.
“If we’d lost then my feeling would have been different, but I’m very honest with myself. I don’t allow myself to make mistakes and I will try to do better the next time.”
Lloris was involved in a crucial and controversial moment when Raheem Sterling went clean through on goal in the second half, seeking to end Spurs’ resistance and put his side 3-1 up.
The City winger was pushed by Spurs right-back Kyle Walker, but he sportingly stayed on his feet and, off-balance, prodded the ball straight at Lloris.
“It’s part of the game,” said Tottenham’s goalkeeper. “They wanted to score the third goal, we needed the second and maybe it was fair play.
“He (Sterling) tried to keep his action, keep his feet and in the end I made a good decision to stay in my goal, because if I tried to go low at his feet he probably would have scored. It’s one factor in the game.
“Facing City away, they probably played their best game of the season so it’s a very good point. But of course we’re able to do better with the ball and without the ball.”
Harry Kane concurred, saying: “It was one of our worst performances of the season so to come away to City, play badly, go 2-0 down and come away with a point shows how far we’ve come.
“We were just off it, off the pace. I don’t know why we played poorly. City came with a game plan to press and we were a bit slow on the ball, a bit slow pressing and it was down to the players. There are no excuses from anyone.
“But we managed to grind out a result and get something from it, which is always important. You can never play perfectly in football and we got something from it.
“The character speaks for itself. We were 2-0 down, not playing well but then found another couple of gears. It was a great ball by Walks (Walker) for Dele’s first goal and then some neat play for the second goal.
“It was one of those days and then when it goes to 2-2, we fancied our chances - but then they had some as well so all in all we’re happy with a point.

Hull City midfielder Ryan Mason is conscious and has been speaking about the incident in which he fractured his skull during Sunday's game at Chelsea, the club said in a statement.
Mason, 25, clashed heads with Blues defender Gary Cahill 13 minutes into the Premier League match.
He was taken to St Mary's Hospital in London, where he had surgery.
"Ryan and his family have been extremely touched by the overwhelming support," added the statement.
"They would very much like to thank all of those who have posted such positive comments both on social media and in the press over the last 24 hours.
"Ryan has been speaking of the incident yesterday and will continue to be monitored at the hospital over the coming days where the club will remain in close contact with Ryan, his family and the staff at St Mary's."
Hull said club captain Michael Dawson, club doctor Mark Waller, head of medical Rob Price and club secretary Matt Wild had visited Mason in hospital.
Cahill, Chelsea captain John Terry and assistant manager Steve Holland visited St Mary's on Sunday to check on Mason's well-being, and spent time with his family.

Wenger pushed fourth official Anthony Taylor after being sent off in Sunday's 2-1 Premier League win.
He had been dismissed for reacting angrily to a 93rd-minute penalty given to Burnley, who trailed 1-0.
After the game, Wenger, 67, apologised. He has until 18:00 GMT on Thursday to respond to the charge of misconduct.
An FA statement read: "It is alleged that in or around the 92nd minute, Wenger used abusive and/or insulting words towards the fourth official.
"It is further alleged that following his dismissal from the technical area, his behaviour in remaining in the tunnel area and making physical contact with the fourth official amounted to improper conduct."

Xhaka was seeing off a friend, who was refused entry on to a flight to Germany after arriving late for boarding at Heathrow Terminal 5.
A stunned witness claimed the 24-year-old midfielder, who cost Arsenal £32.5million from German club Borussia Monchengladbach, racially abused a member of staff in German, at which point airport security and police were called. Xhaka was then taken to a west London police station for questioning.
He disputes the words he is accused of saying and denies saying anything directly to the member of staff.
A Metropolitan Police statement read: “Police were called at 19:29hrs on Monday, 23 January following an allegation that a member of staff had been racially abused at Heathrow Airport, Terminal Five.

Personally I am pleased we didnt sign him just from what he showed of his charachter during this time.I just cant see him accepting the work poch requires before you even get into the team.There is a big difference being a star youngster,which really just means you have talent&a prospect,to being an actual good let alone star player.Shearer said something last night previewing the leics game,"what has gone wrong with leics&vardy" he replied,they stopped doing what they were doing,not working as hard,getting there is one thing staying there is harder,people look at you&work you out,your weakness`and strengths.

If they do win both should be,but never say never,they could have a run like liverpool, anyone could,funny old game cos you can lose your mojo for no reason,lets hope they do.Even if they lose one or both matches we are still a long shot for the title.
