Might not even need that if the goons drop points to Wolves and Leicester away in their two away games coming up, City beat United on Wed, and United get at least a point against Chelsea on at OT on Sunday. Win our net two game and their will be a good gap between us and the others with two games left. Might even be able to afford the opportunity of resting some players at Bournemouth before we travel too Amsterdam. Each game at a time though....

What a crazy last 5 days. We've lost twice and yet i feel utterly elated. Wasn't too bothered about the defeat to City on Saturday but was thinking it would be nice if one of Chavs, Arse or Utd drop points, 2 of them lose and one of 'em drop 2 points, i mean seriously football is so gloriously mental at times!
Can't believe i'm saying this but i think i'd prefer the Chavs to get 4th, based purely on the Summer transfer window. It's fairly clear that us, and the 3 below us are in need of a fair few quid being spent on our respective teams/squads, so with Utd and the Arse not having cl football, it may just limit their ability to pick up certain players, maybe not in Utd's case, coz the lure of £250k a week is hard to turn down but anyway, if the Chavs do have their final appeal rejected (unlikely) over the delay of their ban until January, then that's why i'd want them in 4th.

The Spurs vs West Ham derby is a strange one. It's not up there for Tottenham fans with the clashes against Arsenal and Chelsea, but it's a real pain in the backside one as the Hammers always raise their game, regardless of their form. West Ham sit in mid-table with nothing to play for and look unlikely to finish in the top half, but they will be up for this derby, fresh after a full week without a game and looking to end their season with something to grasp on to by embarrassing Spurs at their new home.
With all the history between the two clubs and their stadiums, both fighting for the then Olympic Stadium and now Spurs delighted they didn't end up there, there will be plenty of friction on Saturday. Spurs stadium staff will be fearful of the prospect of the visiting fans leaving their own mark on their new 62,062-seater stadium and they will no doubt be watched closely.
On the pitch, Tottenham must put off any thoughts of the Champions League semi-final first leg against Ajax and grab another three big points at their new ground. With Arsenal facing a tricky test at Wolves on Wednesday night and then away at Leicester on Sunday, Manchester United welcoming Manchester City and then Chelsea, three points for Spurs could potentially seal their top four spot and pretty much third place with their goal difference.
That would then let them completely focus on that rather enormous Champions League test against the Dutch giants. Spurs' season still has plenty of stories to be told, but they need to be the one writing the chapters.

I feel unclean. I want City to beat United tonight because I don't want the dippers to win the title. It's a bit like only having one bullet and choosing between Farage and Mogg. Farage of course every time, but actually wanting City to win is making me itch. Liverpool being the champions would be an unscratchable itch, a weeping sore that oozed puss leading to self-amputation of the affected parts.
Of course there is the unlikely scenario of United overtaking us in the top four to consider as well, that makes my support of City tonight a bit less itchy, even if United won tonight we would still have a game in hand - I think, my brain is a bit fucked up at the moment due to the weather and a few beers that I consumed to relieve the stress of another day spent dealing with the Spanish feds - this time the Social Security office to get healthcare sorted - done at last..

I, too can't imagine the horror of Liverpool winning a trophy, but I'd very much like them to lose by bottling it in the last game of the season, and in the most entertaining way possible. Anything that makes that more likely would be fine by me.
