The fact we signed Gallagher may mean we intend to start paying more reasonable wages. Or it could mean our esteemed management failed to check how much he was making. It's probably the latter.

Winning the title in your first season with a club and being sacked in the second must be some kind of record.

You'd be hard pushed to find a quicker 180*deg turn in fortunes alright.
I suppose he won the league, but with Klopps team and once he brought in his own and spent a kings ransom in the process, with the exception of Ekitike, it's been a colossal waste of money.
I'd say Areola will step in there...

Well Dave, i admire your optimism!. However getting away from all that for a minute or two. What an absolute delight to see the crying gooners loose in a European final yet again. And to see the two horrible clowns, who missed them. There is a god, because the first one did the dirty on us,and the second one is the most cynical nasty centre back in the league, and got away with the headbutt v Man City, so justice has been served, and Captain Black Arteta can choke on his words, We are going to win it, yahoo, no your bloody not. So sorry to digress, but its so so gratifying to see the horrible gooby gooners loose yet another European Final. danboy61

I don't revel in their defeat... I can't, I am in no position to...

And I'll be honest, even if I was, I'd always be rooting for a UK team over a foreign one...

I've never understood why people think this way...

Thought the same. Bizarre timing too...
Willing to bet they've either been hit with some scandal or he's been told zero cash for improvements/squad replacements for some bullshit reason.

And he'll obviously have high stock right now and have options of his own.

Can't be surprised at this. They dragged their heels with Isak, sold Tonali and Gordon and now it looks like Guimaraes looks as if he's going to them down the road.
I'd say that was the last straw for him. Very very good manager. And this fella from the Saudi league wouldn't be filling me with huge anticipation if I was a barcode fan.
Probably disappear for a while and come back as a pundit in 6 months when he wants to be considered again.

Well, thinking about it, he's lost his best players in Isak, Gordon and Tonali over the last year, and they'll probably ship out Guimares too. Plus if the rags are right, they wouldn't meet our demands for Bergvall, so not ambitious.

So maybe he's getting out while the gettin's good, as we say over here.

EDIT: Great minds, @Dave...
