Couldn't see a thread on our manager, little strange.

Anyway... Getting everyone onboard, this is very clever from DeZerbi. Gaining a lot of respect from everyone involved with the club.

I have a really good feeling about all this

In fairness, we'd have needed to start a lot of threads in recent years.

Whatever "it" is, RDZ does seem to have it.

I always kind of thought of him as a kind of dogmatic tactics innovator type, and a bit prickly at that, but his player management and fan messaging has been excellent from what we've seen so far.

Look I agree, the noise is right...

I'm yet to get any "feels" and maybe that's just because I've been at the dawn of change so frequently over the last 10+ years that I have had the belief knocked out of me and I can only see the true constant of the Lewis family and their legacy of gross mismanagement, greed and profit as the true measure of success...

I hope it's different will all my heart this time.

My two biggest concerns, which I think are pretty much related: 1) will he be properly backed in the long term; and 2) will he stick around or have another falling out with upper management

I'm a romantic, I fall in love with each of them, immediately (the players also). And I go on to rhapsodize about how they're so refreshing, so much better than the last one, and dream of how much better the future will be. And that all of our problems will disappear as we travel to the sunlit uplands.

And then we lose to Charlton on a Wednesday.

Anyway, here we are, feeling good! Maybe I'm more of a slut than a romantic. But can't I be both? I wanna stay naive.

Firstly, we are going to need to upgrade our attack before this transfer window is out.

De Zerbi's I feel probably the most positive of any new coach we have got since Poch. I really like what Pochettino did at Southampton and I see a lot of what De Zerbi did at Brighton to be similar. Both have the ability to coach players into raising their level and creating a positive squad culture.

The club basically as always doesn't seem to understand football and perpetually pivot from one philosophy to the next, this time it appears that they are building the De Zerbi project. If he strops and walks out which is always possible, then we are going to be a bit fucked as pretty much our entire transfer policy this window is supporting the De Zerbi project.

However, he is seriously well respected within the game, and his style of football when backed and implemented, could be pretty devastating. Van Hecke, Senesi, Tonali and Fernandes are players that in theory should Excell in a De Zerbi team, probably why we paid over the odds for Tonali, but has the potential to be a key player for this system.

I am feeling quietly confident (subject to who we bring in up front).

I said when he was appointed that I thought DeZerbi would be gone by Xmas, I still think that.

It's still too early to tell if that will be the case but this club may not have hit rock bottom yet...

I think he'll walk
Ok, based on 1 game, where he's been backed to the tune of nearly £350/400m...? Doesn't look good on him if that's the case does it...

Look, managers come and go and they'll be judged on their results... RDZ will be no different and if he walks away as you suggest he might do, that'll tell you about him.

No, I didn't say he walk after one game - I think he will be gone by Xmas though.

He has form for a huge ego and getting his knickers in a twist.

I would love to be wrong obviously.

On one hand, as a player and coach he has represented about 22 clubs and doesn't tend to stay longer then 2 years

On the other hand, we are still integrating players, still need more up front and the club has basically given him pretty much every player he wants.

I think probably need to give it a few games before judging.

I'm not buying his horse shit post match interview...

Players not in the right condition... Who's fault...?

Players not performing... Who's fault...?

It's only the first game... Same for Brentford...

Singled out Mikey More a few times for being shit...

Already blaming others for his lack of preparation and for getting this side competitive...

Saying we didn't we fight in the right way... That's your job to make them do that...

This interview is a fucking car crash and telling...

Every 1 of you make the same point. If Moore is not ready and it certainly seems that way today, why expose him in such a terrible non existent game plan.? He had to make Brentford work to defend, never once did they break sweat.

Simply passed Richarlison onto whoever was nearest to him. Moore is a young lad, dont, crucify him now because of his terrible decision to play 1 up front.. I honestly believe , he will be gone within 6/8 weeks, if we are in the bottom 4/6; in the table. Everyone i the newsapers coming out about Spurs unbeatable in pre season. Thats bloodybpre season. We were flat footed, beaten for pace, desire and organisation. Charlton game in midweek isvlooking Dodgy..

Wtf??

De Zerbi: "I think it was important for Lucas Bergvall to start. I knew before the game Lucas might suffer in a game like this more than Rodrigo Bentancur who is older but it is important for the future of the club and the direction in which we're working."
