football.london understands Sessegnon's surgery was a success and as with the operation on his left hamstring last year, the chances of a reoccurrence will now be very slim. His recovery period this time is expected to be between 10 and 12 weeks.
"Ryan Sessegnon has undergone surgery to his right hamstring following an injury during an under-21s match," read a statement from the club. "The 23-year-old will continue to be closely monitored by our medical team to determine when he can return to training."
Sessegnon took to Instagram to reveal his devastation, writing: "I’ve been down this road before. I’ll pick myself up, stay head strong and begin my recovery in the best way possible.
"Having been through an operation and the recovery on my other hamstring last year, and knowing how strong that hamstring is now, I know this is the best solution to put an end to the reoccurring issues."
He added: "Speaking on behalf of anyone who’s been in this situation, please be careful what you say online. Words hurt and no-one chooses to be in this position."
He was forced off towards the end of the first half of the 1-1 draw against West Ham in the Premier League 2 fixture on February 17. Due to his injury woes, Sessegnon has made just 57 appearances for Spurs since his 2019 move to North London.
