Not a disaster by a long stretch. Tbf to sunderland they defended like their lives depended on it and we were off the boil, no doubt about that. 4 out of the next 6 are at home so important we continue the unbeaten run. Rodwell should've walked imo

I don't think its was a missed opportunity really. We could have gone 4 points behind the scum, but we are ahead of them in 2nd. We could be in 4th behind the scum and the dippers but we are 2nd. We are the same number of points behind the chavs as were were before the game, but I'm not holding my breath for a title challenge this year.

It was a tough ask to win up in the cruel North East when Lee Mason was being a total cunt, one definite penalty and one possible penalty not given, a definite nailed on red card for Rodwell, dirty spoiling tactics from Sunderland that they got away with, so all in all a point is a good result, OK it's not perfect but it will do.

Spurs manager Mauricio Pochettino: "We only had one shot on target in the first half and that is poor from us. The second half were much better and created chances but not enough to win the game. The clean sheet is important but not change my feelings - we are disappointed."

I haven't seen the game, but we started the evening in 3rd and we will finish tomorrow night in 2nd, that sounds like an improvement to me and has occurred when not at our best, that's another plus and another point away from home against a team desperate to win. It's not perfect but it's a long way from a disaster. Win on Saturday against Boro at home and we will stay in second. Good stuff, keep at it lads long way to go yet.

Need a 9 point swing in the next few weeks. We have the same chance of that happening if it was 6 or 7, just need to match or bette the chavs results

That was an awful game. Sunderland have to be one of the dullest teams in the PL.

Well on Match of the day we looked pretty good and all over them. You have to take a point sometimes and move on.

In hindsight, poor was probably a harsh word to use. Was having a shite day and relying on a good game of football to cheer me up and a win. I got neither. Probably was expecting too much. Never mind, a glass of rose and the result isn't that bad. I guess seeing Arsenal lose (didn't expect that today) and Liverpool draw with Chelsea I saw an opportunity for us to put distance between Arsenal and pull the lead back a little off Chelsea. But we didn't and we start again on Saturday pretty much in the same position as we were last night.

Sunderland were not there to play football. That Rodwell arsehole should have been sent off, no where near the ball and very high on Dembele. Gutted for Danny Rose, hope it's not too bad, but a twisted knee sounds painful.

Quiet games for a few of our front load, and although we dominated in the second half, final product was not happening. The pitch did look very heavy and battered. Would have been tough to get a passing game going on that.

Anyway onto boro now...

One of those days at the office really. We didn't create the chances to get the goal the would ave changed the shape of the game but credit to Sunderland, they had a plan and executed it well. They had little intention to win the game and were happy to just collect a point and set out that way. It worked for them, but we are up to second in the league and haven't lost any ground on Chelsea. It's hard to see them dropping enough points for them to be caught now to be honest but we have to keep pushing on as stranger things have happened.

You got the 11 points you wanted in January.....a month that included 3 away games, Chelsea and Man City. I'd say that looking at the bigger picture that's a pretty good return all things considered. Win a few and get a result against Liverpool, and we're set for the last 10 games...

Disappointed at the way we played & the result.
I was hoping for some killer instinct & finish the game off early.
Seeing the results around us diminished that disappointment somewhat.

Sometimes Danny Rose looks like he's made of glass but I wasn't aware that he came in a glass. Hope it was enjoyable. BTW, when will you be done with him & when should we expect him back?

I'm not going to use the pitch as excuse for why we didn't win, but it was awful...my shag carpet isn't as deep as that Sunderland grass -- it was over the laces! Wouldn't doubt they put away the mower for the week just to slow down our pace and slick passing.

Yeah unusual pitch state, crappy weather, but truth is our front 4 just didnt sparkle, just one goal would have made such a difference.Still we fought&battled,if people cant take the positive from that on an away day, then they are really getting a bit self entitled. Its right to be disappointed, but also happy enough to not have got beaten.

I think I would rather take a point away to Sunderland then lose at home to Watford :D

you know some people are complaining that, that made it worse??really on what fucking planet is us drawing and arsenal losing worse, because we didnt make up 2 pts on chelsea.Their rationale being if chelsea and arsenal won us dropping points wouldnt have mattered so much?really....cant wait til we`ve got another 25,000 of these idiots attending matches.I think football has stopped being an enjoyment to too many people, its just an excuse for trolling or bants.

You've got to stop reading those Match threads on other forums!! I've come to realise (although it's taken me long enough) that the posts are all written by people that don't go to the games. So they have nothing better to do than sit and slag the team and manager off when we don't win 4-1 every week. Their support consists of nothing and their opinions are of no value, in most cases they can't really be described as Spurs fans or suppprters, I can find nothing to base those words on.

I'll give you something to base that on.

You are at home and Spurs are on TV, do you;

A/ watch the game
B/ spend the match typing on a keyboard

I am going to read through the OMT threads after the game and any posts that have been made during the game, not at half time will be attacked with random silly icons, including 'dumb', I nearly did last night, so close, it would have been beautiful, really, I was so close to pressing that button, so close.
