The whole 90 mins...!!! I watched Silo (decent series) for the first hour and then tuned into see them get a second...
Yeah I kept an eye on the score on my phone but I wasn’t going to watch.

At least we can concentrate on the league now .. 🙄

I'm sorry lads and I know you shouldn't but I think I'm at the point where I'm openly going to choose to not watch, I'll just assume we're shit and going to loose from now on. That way I'm not invested enough to get overly emotional about the terrible performance as well...

If I just know we've lost and not been utterly dog shit as well I may cope a bit better...

It's utterly depressing... Like ruins my fucking weekend depressing...

I’m glad you said it first. There have been many times over the years I've felt detached from this team but it's never been worse than it is now. I could honestly just see an occasional glance at the results over the coming weeks at best.

Even if Ange does go, the best we can hope for is a sticking plaster until the end of the season, although I suppose sod's law would mean that whoever is interim manager then leads us to winning the Europa League.

Don't kid ya self... The cheapest option is Ryan Mason... That's what we'll get.

I don't know what the answer to our problems is but despite the poor performance, these guys fought 'til the end. I can't detect them giving up on Ange.

My biggest concern is what came to light yesterday from @ClemFandango about VDV & Romero refusing to play for Ange (allegedly).

I know what you mean but I was way more detached under Mourinho and Conte. @Style And Glory As for VdV and Romero, they’ve both been in the stands cheering on their teammates every home game. It seems very unlikely to me that they’d be downing tools.

A bit of perspective, nice to hear someone talking with passion about our club.

I wholeheartedly agree with him... It comes back to the squad depth and blah blah blah smell noise not being heard...

Is it me as a 40 year fan if ang spent 2/3 on the phone to tell tel to sign. Why does this player after 10 min on the pitch against Liverpool tell the team to move up but not ang I don’t understand this. Why was he not up front from the start today

Ange & we here have been banging on about so many (starting) players out injured (10+) & lacking quality depth, but seems to be falling on deaf ears.
We lost to Liverpool the other day. I always felt they had better depth than us. Today they made 10 changes & lost to a team stapled to the bottom of the Championship.
Let's see if this gives the media & our own "Ange out fans" some perspective about what we are going through.

It has been agenda driven. How dare a Greek immigrant from Australia try and play the best football in the league

This is a point that a lot have been making about Liverpool today. 10 changes and rotated out their first choice keeper and starting centre backs amongst others and came unstuck because of it.

The point was that that has been what we've had to cope with as 'normal' for the past 4 months.

He said exactly what needed to be said. We’ve had some managers who don’t need to be named that would’ve put this on the players.

I get the injury crisis. I get that the Chairman is an oxygen thief. I get that we played 3 days ago and Villa had an 8 day break.

And I love Ange and think he should stay.

But fuck me if we aren’t easy to play against, especially through the middle. Ange is, and this is the one criticism I have, he is responsible for that. When your back is against the wall you have to get your hands dirty on the park and make things difficult for the other mob, even if it means making some structural changes.

We don’t do that. And I don’t know why.

The bit that pisses me off with this is it makes Ange look a cunt... And I don't for a second think he is... It paints him as inflexible, one dimensional, stubborn, arrogant and maybe even not good enough to have a second option...

That, wether you like it or not shows our club in the same light...

He needs to grow too, he needs to be better than what he has shown...

I’m quite confused by the whole situation to be honest.

Clearly injuries are a problem, not being able to put out anywhere close to your best eleven for months, will affect any team. Then you have the issue with tiredness, with the same group of 12/13 players playing twice a week for the last 3 or so months. Although lots of teams over the years have had a core group of guys that have played 50+ games a season and not got injured, we can barely get thru 2/3 months before injuries start to mount up, it’s actually mental!

Is this gung ho style that Ange so covets constantly going to lead to injuries, coz in the most part, the players aren’t either technically good enough to play the system, or just aren’t smart enough to play it? The midfield needs work, also Porro and Udogie constantly leave acres of space in behind, those 2 definitely need to be more disciplined. Think we head the stat sheets in terms of sprints, and because of the nature of their poor positioning, they’re not just short sprints, they’re having to sprint from one end of the pitch to the other, can’t be good for muscle tears etc.

I like Ange, I love his footballing philosophy but since Chelsea at home last season and barring the odd decent performance here and there, we’ve lacked any real consistency.

Not really sure where we are anymore. Part of me thinks Ange is a little out of his depth but how can he be properly judged until he gets the players he needs back, and the players he wants recruited? Same old story.

Anyway, this season’s pretty much done, it’s not particularly exciting watching us atm, doubt we’ll get past the quarters of the Europa, and the league’s a dud.

Big Summer ahead, lot of clearing out to do.

Anyway, sorry for my musings fellas!

Agree with what's being said. One thing that's in the back of my mind is that if we do sack Ange, I don't trust Levy not to bring in somebody whose approach and philosophy is completely different. That puts us back at square one, or as Yid says, rinse and repeat, especially with all the young players we have now.

Rinse and repeat old boy, rinse and fucking repeat...
indeed old boy!

Looking at, in an ideal world…
Forster
Bissouma
Bentancur - such a disappointment, another player that’s regressed, maybe injuries have screwed his head.
Sonny - legend but think his time’s up.
Werner - didn’t Ange say in no uncertain terms that his loan won’t be made permanent, or maybe I made that up?
Johnson - won’t happen but he just does very little for me.

Was gonna say Davies but he does tend to put in solid performances when called on, so kind of happy to keep him on maybe a 1 year rolling contract. Also not a big Sarr fan but still young, and has shown glimpses, certainly last season anyway, not sure he’s a starter though.
