Also, if anybody still fails to see the value that Solanke offers is missing the point. Tel, as much as he is young, offers precisely nothing as a hold up option.
Hard to disagree. Solanke is a workhorse and does his job...Don't know about Terry just yet. Hopefully in time he'll get up to speed..

He reminds me a little of Sonny playing the 9. Looks like he’d be more comfortable coming off the wing.

Why we were not like this from minute one is what Ange needs to sort

They are just begging us to take this game away from them.

Disappointing performance about from a 15 minute spell in the 2nd half.

Expected more considering we have a lot of players back.

What disappointed me was that we actually dropped off after the subs came on.

I didn’t think we were that bad. It was the youngest team Postecoglou has ever put out. We are still missing two blue chip central defenders and a striker as well as fielding guys who are finding their legs after long injury layoffs.

I’m not too disappointed at all.

Despite the recent run of results & the return of many players, I wasn't expecting too much from this match. I simply wanted an inspired performance & if something came of it, it would be a welcome bonus.

I missed the first 20+ mins & aside of the next 5 or so mins, from what I saw of the remaining hour plus, wasn't too bad. We carried most of the play in the 2nd half as City sat back a bit & we created the better chances. We never gave up & kept pushing forward.

Gray, Bergvall & Spence are definitely players & the core of our future.

Should have started Deki, Spence IMO. Would it have made a difference? Unsure, but, I think looking at how we played today, we really prioritized the weekend. We best come with our strongest XI and play a proper game.

Well it’s a bit of a catch 22 for Ange. He has players back who are rusty but need minutes. And he needs to rotate to give guys like Deki a rest.

He’s sort of damned no matter what he does really.

Right so. Deki and Spence for 65 minutes. Destiny, BJ coming against (potentially) tired legs

I take your point mate. And I don’t necessarily disagree.

I suspect he’s saving some boys for the AZ game, which seems a smart thing to do. If we win the EL then we can come 17th in the league for all I care. It’s a better outcome than coming 5th and winning nothing.

The whole game felt a bit low-stakes to be honest. In fairness to City, they were excellent against us in the first half. Couldn’t really get close to them. Weirdly, it felt like bringing the likes of Son and Deki on actually killed some of the momentum the starters had built up.

Of those that came on, only Spence seemed to stand out in my eyes.
