I know Redmond is at Southampton by the way.Just realised my last post sounded like they're both at Palace.

Both Redmond and Zaha at Palace have been decent this season but to be honest I'm not bothered about signing someone in January unless they are really gonna make a big impact.
Yeh kind of agree. Wouldn't surprise me if we do little or no business in January tbh. Looking forward to Lamela getting back, think we've missed him and he could be the difference. People always bang on about a striker but I think Pochettino will persevere with Janssen.

West Brom's head coach Tony Pulis has confirmed the club has tabled a bid for Manchester United's French international midfielder Morgan Schneiderlin.

The offer is around £13m, which is close to West Brom's record fee paid out on Nacer Chadli in the last transfer window.

We were after him for years at a much higher price than that. He must have gone backwards....either that or good business by WBA.

hasnt started since nov 3rd when he was dragged of at HT in europa league, jose mustnt fancy him.Everton are also interested, man u say must be a deal not a loan alledgedly.Dont think we have a need for him unless he is viewed on an upgrade to present personnel?happy to let him go elsewhere tbh.

Also worlds gone mad, oscar to china for £60m and £400k a week, wasnt even a starter for the chavs this year, its madness, but will definatly sort the mercenary types out,I reckon mostly south american and oap african" legends" will end up there, personally Id take the MLS for 25% of the wages over china get rich quick.

Manchester City former forward Carlos Tevez is reportedly on the verge of becoming the world's highest-paid footballer by moving from Boca Juniors to Shanghai Shenhua, where he will earn £615,000 a week.

Happy xmas and what a start to the new year!!
http://www.football-italia.net/96127/roma-activate-fazio-clause
Federico Fazio is now a Roma player, as it’s reported he made enough appearances to activate the €3.2m transfer from Tottenham Hotspur.

The defender arrived over the summer on loan for €1.2m with an option to buy pending certain “sporting situations.”

According to La Repubblica newspaper, there was a clause automatically activating the permanent transfer if he reached certain targets and Fazio has now made the right number of appearances.

Roma now have to pay Spurs a further €3.2m and can keep Fazio next season as well.

The 29-year-old Argentine has made 22 competitive appearances for Roma, 17 of them in Serie A, scoring one Europa League goal.

Express Sport understands Everton will allow Barkley to leave for £30m when the transfer window opens next month with Ronald Koeman keen to recruit Manchester United duo Memphis Depay and Morgan Schneiderlin.

And it seems the Toffees won’t be short of offers for the England international.

According to The Telegraph, Arsenal and Chelsea are monitoring Barkley with both teams keen to bolster their midfields.

But Tottenham look to be most serious about pulling off a deal with the report suggesting they could make an offer for the 23-year-old.

Just what we require another midfield/number 10 prospect !!He is a useful player, and big potential, but a striker or CB cover is maybe more what is needed?however my whole life we have collected flashy midfielders like imelda marcos collected shoes so.....Personally if we are going to splash +£25m I`d rather have barkley than zaha. But neither wouldnt upset me.

Who's place would be under threat though? Mousa, Eriksen, Dele? I think Barkley's alright and assume that Zaha is as well, but we've got a lot of midfielders already battling for a place, neither of these two are going to set the place alight are they?

BBC`s take on who we need to sign

Tottenham Hotspur - 5th
upload_2016-12-30_9-58-48.gif

Stat attack: Tottenham have had the most shots (335) and their accuracy (49.1%) is second only to Liverpool - but their conversion rate is only the 12th best (13.98%).

Window shopping: Their summer buys have not done much for them so far, but I don't think they need to do a lot in January - other than find an alternative goal threat to Harry Kane.

Dele Alli has started to score more but Christian Eriksen can go for long spells without finding the net, especially from open play.

It is a difficult one to solve because Kane likes to play on his own up front. Basically they need someone who can play behind him who is a good finisher to offer goals as well as creativity. Someone like Swansea's Gylfi Sigurdsson would fit the bill, although Spurs have already had him once.

Linked with (Player, age, position and club): Ross Barkley, 23, CM (Everton),Javier Hernandez, 28, CF (Bayer Leverkusen),Julian Brandt, 20, LM, (Bayer Leverkusen),Jordan Pickford, 22, GK, (Sunderland),Max Meyer, 21, FW, (Schalke),Marc Cucurella, 18, LB, (Barcelona),Memphis Depay, 22, FW, (Manchester United),James Rodriguez, 25, CM, (Real Madrid),Marcelo Brozovic, 24, CM, (Inter Milan),Moussa Dembele, 20, CF (Celtic),Sandro Ramirez, 21, CF, (Malaga),Wilfried Zaha, 24, FW, (Crystal Palace).

I am surprised that Hernandez is only 28, blimey, he seems to have been around for ever! I'd welcome him for sure, maybe, possibly. I don't see where Barkley would fit, we already have some seriously pucker midfielders, who would make way for him? I disagree with the author that all our summer buys have not done much, Wanyama is one of the 7 bollocks on our dog, he has fitted in very nicely. Sissoko has shown signs of how good he could be and we don't really know about Vincent yet, he could become the 8th bollock!

I said Yonks ago that I would be chuffed to get Dembele II, I haven't changed that opinion, I think he would fit in really nicely and now he has been toughened up a bit by the sweaties I'd prefer him to Chicharito who has turned into a bit of a petulant cheater and isn't as hungry as min-Dembele. I don't think James would fit in our pay structure, I could be wrong but I would imagine he is on mega-wonga?

Zaha? Nah, something about him I don't like. Irrational maybe but that's the kind of chap I am.

Deepay is good, but the wages could be a problem I reckon and he might be a star already in his own mind, he's another one that just feels wrong to me for our squad. I don't not know narffing about the others, having said that I know fuck all about football so my 'picks' could be total bollocks (not in a good dog with 7 bollocks way).

Get another Moussa I reckon. 3 Mooses would be pucker! Mooses but the way is the correct term for a herd of blokes called Moussa. But it won't be the end of the World if we don't do any business this January. Another poster said it's time to Let Tom Carroll go so he can develop his career I agree, the Poch obviously likes him and has given him many chances but I don't think he's quite right for us.

I know i am going to sound like a broken record but spend a few million and get defoe back! He would be a far better option than what we have of the bench! Its funny the muppet rednkapp junior said exactly what i feel about our team and that was if all our players are fit our best 11 is as good as any in the league! We need players to come on with 30 to go and be able to perform, defoe is good at that

I can't see Sunderland selling him, he is their only chance of staying up and the 5 or 6 million they might get for shifting him in January would nowhere near cover what they would lose if they were relegated. I think he has a clause that he can toddle off on a free if they are relegated, so he might be available in the summer.

If we are going to spend, it should be on a significant upgrade. Someone who could be a game changer. As Don says, Barkley & Zaha are OK but are either of these 2 going to make much of a difference considering who we already have? We need to go up a couple more rungs in the ladder for it to be worthwhile.

Happy New Year everyone & I look forward to this transfer window even if we don't do any business as some other clubs will make it interesting & possibly force our hand & delve into the market.

I am not sure we need to buy this window to be honest. The only thing would be upgrade but then, who needs upgrading?

You could argue the case of Dembele as in, who takes his place but, the emergence of young Winks would be hindered with the introduction of another body in the middle.

Carter-Vickers' path would also be blocked buying another right sided center back.

The young lad in attack Onomah and what's his face, Edwards, are also both pushing on to the fringes of the first team.

I think Jansen can contribute so yeah, where's the additional player going to fit in?

Of course, never say never but still...

I thought I felt a draft! Close that fucking window, there's old folks here who are getting hypothermia.

Yes, I made it, I survived that shit fucking year 2016, definitely without doubt the worst year ever. Sadly Farage, Trump, Duncan Smith, Johnson and all the other facist cunts also survived the year of the Retard, lets hope 2017 is the year of the Rifle.

Happy New Year to 48%, the other 52% can fuck off, I hope their new year and the rest of their lives are total and complete shite.

Meanwhile, back on topic: Right Levy, why haven't you bought that player everyone wants yet? The one who when you don't buy him everyone will say 'oh you silly cunt, if you had bought him we would have won the league, why did you buy that bloke when you could have bought the other bloke even if he wanted to go somewhere else you slap head old cunt?'

What if Dele played further forward?
What if Barclay played the creator and Dele played off Kane?

What if I shut the fuck up and stopped spouting shite.

Goodnight.

If he keeps Sunderland in the Premier league he's worth about £50m....I haven't looked at the latest TV deal, 'parachute' payments etc etc so it's a guesstimate and to be honest he's the only chance they've got.

They will refuse all offers and bung him £1m if he keeps them up I would imagine. Something like that anyway. Good luck to the little man.
Lol. Accidentally rated that post a dumb..... Apparently West Ham have asked Sunderland to name their price, I'd say 150 mil now fuck off you gypo's.

West Ham fans have hated him ever since he left them for us anyway so there's a good chance he might not wanna go there, but he has stated on a few occasions that he misses home and would love to be back down south but he know's he's a star up there and will most likely wanna play and score as many as possible to try and get as high up in the all time scorer ranking as possible. He's not really won trophies so that will be his long term legacy as from a personal point of view.
