Fair criticism...

There's lots we've sold I wouldn't think twice about... There's lots we've kept I would rather we would have sold... There's the balance between what we have and what we can realistically get in... And then there's those that actively want to go and won't be part of our plans...

I think the way Spence was treated by some managers was utterly disgusting, especially in his very early days at the club... he was a phenomenal talent and we chose to sideline him almost immediately upon joining, even though he was ripping shit apart for Borough and he only started to get a shout when injuries piled high...

To be honest I don't blame him for wanting to fuck off especially after finishing 17th twice, proving he is arguably one of the best attacking RB's in the league and off the back of a stella world cup, with all the previous in mind about how he was treated by the club.

Give Spence a loan to a high end team on the continent. Next year we will need two very good right backs as we will be champions of the prem and therefore champions league

Yeah, you're right, I mean successful clubs move useful players along, not just dead wood. And as Dave points out, he wants to go somewhere else. Put it this way: if the money's put elsewhere in the squad, then fair enough.

I guess it boils down to the fact that I think he's better than Udogie and Robertson. And it's not ideal if Porro is injured, though I guess this means the second-string RB position is Gray's for the time being.

That's who it would be, though. And you're right about the versatility--that's been a problem for a lot of young players over the years. Eric Dier under Poch, for example. One week he was in midfield, the next at CB, then on the right.

I don't think moving on Spence is a good move, however, I do think he felt the need to move... so £35m is decent money IMO if that's all anyone was willing to pay.

Gray is a midfielder, Liverpool are really not our rival, Solanke blows, and we sold Spence for way below his value. There is no pretty way to spin this.

£35m would be decent money for him but we didnt get that. We got €31.5m or £26.9m which is ass
