I like this signing for two reasons:

Robertson will be desperate to get playing time ahead of the World Cup.

It's kind of counterintuitive, but investing in players like him also suggests we're committed to hanging onto, and working to develop young players. Experienced pros are important in that process and also might help stabilize things. I get that it's not a particularly inspiring signing but I think it's a good one.

Need a ball playing center midfielder or it’s all for nothing.

Maybe robertson can pull a Philip Lahm and magically become that?

I think it would free Spence, who is right-sided, to rotate with Porro. Udogie is a natural left-sided player, though I think he came up as a wing back rather than a fullback.
Of course you're right and I clearly don't know my right from my left .. I've been on this damned computer too long today 😆

That and the fact that almost all of these players have played out of position in the last couple of years...

Cuti is our most prolific Striker... And Micky is our most dangerous player, attacking opponents and dribbling into space ..our players are all over the place so no wonder Fandango gets a little mixed up... and watching this team has to destroy braincells

Robertson is here for his leadership, professionalism and experience. Things our clubs needs at the moment.

I don’t mind this transfer
He's here to literally end his career with our medical staff.

Robertson. This is some sort of joke, right?

Fuck some of you are easily pleased.

I hope I am wrong but this fucking reeks of mediocrity.

At my age, yes...

But seriously, I think it is logical. Experienced player, Scotland captain, still quite good and will be desperate for playing time ahead of the World Cup. Not a long term solution--but we have a good young player in Udogie in the position, and maybe this new Brazilian kid. It allows Spence to rotate with Porro on the right. I'm not inspired, but I also never thought the club would totally revamp the squad in January, because even free-spending clubs almost never do.

Robertson is a bit uninspired but he's a good defender, and a leader.

It's not the defensive end of the team I'd be looking at though. We need someone who can actually score a goal!!!

I'd go to Brentford and offer them a swap with Solanke for Thiago and however much more money they want.

Then head over to Fulham and grab Harry Wilson, and give them a choice of any one of our attackers.

We're literally going to get relegated. Board either needs to step up or watch Spurs go down!

The Robertson deal seems to have fallen through.

I understand it’s an obligation to buy.

Which makes no fucking sense given our first choice keeper is Krusty the fucking Clown.
Exactly. And I think Kinsky had a lot of potential as well.

And it comes so soon after Frank apparently declared that no one else would be leaving during this window.

Clearly shows how everyone is on the same page.

This just gets back to a point I've been thinking for a long time now--basically what Romero said not long ago. There is no reason for these managers to get trotted out to press conferences to answer for things they have no control over, like transfers.

Interesting take on Kinsky's impending move.

Someone speculating that it could potentially signal a change in transfer activity and no longer signing "prospects" in favour of signing "ready to go" talent that can make an immediate impact.

Obviously falls apart slightly after we signed the brazilian kid but it'll be interesting to see who the next face through the door might be (which, at the moment, will probably be the caretaker since we're not likely to sign anyone else ..).

Unless Kinsky is assured he'll be number one at West Ham (or unless he's been told that Austin is second choice at Spurs) there would be no reason to move.

Nottingham Forest are in talks to sign Wolves goalkeeper Jose Sa.

Matz Sels and John Victor have shared goalkeeping duties at the City Ground this season but Forest are exploring a move for Sa, who has emerged as Wolves head coach Rob Edwards' first choice.

Whether Forest can successfully negotiate a deal for Sa, 33, is set to have an impact on the Portuguese's Wolves colleague Sam Johnstone, who has attracted loan interest from Tottenham Hotspur.

Johnstone has made 12 Premier League starts for Wolves this season but has lost his place in goal to Sa.

Any move for Johnstone before Monday's transfer deadline is likely to depend on whether Sa leaves for Forest.

Sa has been at Wolves since joining them from Olympiacos in 2021.

Tottenham's Antonin Kinsky is a target for West Ham this month, but the north London club are unlikely to let the 22-year-old Czech goalkeeper leave without a replacement.

Reading that Raheem Sterling is expected to leave Chelsea in some capacity before Monday's deadline, either as a mutual termination or permanent deal.

One reply did make me laugh .. "Tottenham don't you dare!" 😂

Apparently we've sent Dane Scarlett out on loan for the remainder of the season.

If that doesn't really underline that we've really closed the door on a pathway to the first team then nothing will.
