Are you referring to that thigh high tackle in the box where the defender never even got near the ball?Really dull. England very lucky not to give up a penalty IMO.
Actually I really didn’t see how bad the foul was on the broadcast. Having watched the reply that is fucking scandalous. Are you referring to that thigh high tackle in the box where the defender never even got near the ball?
When you see calls like that & VAR does nothing, I don't know what a foul is anymore.Actually I really didn’t see how bad the foul was on the broadcast. Having watched the reply that is fucking scandalous.
I don't live near a host city, but Norway have their base nearby, and thousands turned out to watch open training. I know in other places (I was in Atlanta not long before the CPV-Spain game) it can seem like it's barely on the radar until an actual matchday itself. Not sure about the other WC Host Cities, but the enthusiasm in Vancouver has been a bit of a slow burn.
Prior to the first game, it was all luke warm. Like an indifferent feeling. It grew to a feverish pitch with the Qatar match. In anticipation of the Swiss match, this place is now on fire.
Yesterday was quite a day.
Had a Cup Final whose time was pushed earlier b/c of the Canada game kicking off at noon.
Then Canada winning the knockout match at the death followed by the annual Greek Day on W. Broadway in Kitsilano where hundreds of thousands of people wearing blue & white or red gathered for a street festival.
Hehehe nice goalsky.
Japan was a fun team....and we totally need to use that kit for inspirationBrazil will come well unstuck against an organised side... Japan just ran out of steam and couldn't maintain their intensity.
And their pinstriped kit is a banger.
A Dutch team should never play like that... Criminal.Germany whining about their disallowed goal is valid, but weak. Terrible in the final third. They’ve been not good since 2014
The Dutch display of playing to not lose was pathetic and I’m glad they’re out. Morocco came out and played to win and got the result they deserved.
I was a little skeptical of the "Americanization" of the WC by adding 16 more teams that would likely dilute the talent pool but I was wrong. This format & the competition has been quite enjoyable. Lots of quality on display & numerous surprises. Looking forward to the round of 16 & beyond.I hated that Fifa added extra teams.. but the round of 32 the as been fucking fun... Belgium V Senegal is heating up.... not to mention the rest of the games .. too many games.. but it's getting fun
Now this is really the FIFAization of the event. By adding extra teams, especially from Africa, FIFA can bring in more piles of money, but also secure votes from their federations when reelection time comes for Infantino. If there's any institution in the world that needs no instructions from the USA on creating a crass money grab, it's FIFA. The Americanization of the event has been in the stupid water breaks (though I think that's something we're going to have to get used to) not to mention the disgraceful behavior of immigration officials toward some of the parties.I was a little skeptical of the "Americanization" of the WC by adding 16 more teams that would likely dilute the talent pool but I was wrong.
