Fucking stupid rich cunts. Did you see that so-called 'masterpiece'? It was pony. £70m for a picture that 99% of A Level art students would be able to do in a few hours.
I like Hockney and some of his work. I went to see his exhibition at the Tate a few months ago. However I just don’t understand much of what makes these pictures so valuable and tend to agree that this and many other so called ‘masterpieces’ seem pretty simple to replicate.

Remembering Jonathan Waite

11/19/2018

cswy.jpg

When Trust Joint-Chair, Darren Alexander, passed away suddenly in March 2014, it was Jonathan Waite who wrote the Club’s obituary. It was Jonathan Waite who hung the ‘Can’t Smile Without You’ flag at the Benfica match in his memory. And it was Jonathan Waite who let the Trust into White Hart Lane early to lay flowers at his seat. Jonathan’s kindness, empathy and support at that difficult time was a measure of his character. It’s incomprehensible that, four and a half years on, we’re now writing this for Jonathan.

We’ve not quite taken in the devastating news of Jonathan’s passing yet. As co-chairs of the Spurs Trust, we were in touch with Jonathan in his capacity of Head of Supporter Services at the Club on a daily basis for many, many years. As was so often the case with JW, what started out as a purely working relationship developed into a strong and valued friendship.

It was impossible not to like, respect and get on with JW. He dealt with every challenge - and there were many - with patience and good humour. He believed in fan consultation and he also worked hard to make fan reps aware of the way the Club operated. He listened and he advised and guided, and we learned so much from him. Simply put, he just ‘got it’.

It’s hard to think of Jonathan without thinking of laughter. He had a great sense of humour, and an unrivalled knowledge of popular culture. Many a conversation was peppered with references to 80's music and vintage TV sitcoms.

Jonathan made time for and cared about people. He brought them together. He was a modest man but was so proud when his work was recognised by the Football Supporters Federation as Supporter Liaison Officer of the Year in 2016. Almost as proud as we were having nominated him for the award!

What’s become even more apparent over the past few hours is just how valued, liked and well-thought of Jonathan was right across the football community. We’ve been contacted by numerous Trust members and Spurs fans saddened by the news and wanting to pass on their condolences; many of whom Jonathan had helped directly. And by fellow Trusts and fan groups at other Clubs, by the Football Supporters’ Federation and by the Premier League. Jonathan’s impact was far reaching, as was his reputation as an effective, smart, committed and honest operator.

JW was a huge part of Spurs for us. You may say he leaves big shoes to fill. The truth is they may as well make new shoes as no-one will ever come close to that. We were extremely lucky to have had him on loan from his beloved QPR for all these years. And he will be deeply missed.

We’ll carry on working hard to build a legacy worthy of Jonathan and send all of our love, best wishes and thoughts to his family, colleagues and friends at this extremely difficult time.

I am absolutely shocked. I met Jonathan on several occasions and emailed back and forth regularly. He won the Supporter Liaison officer award in 2016 for good reason. A properly top bloke who cared about the fans. My thoughts are with all his friends and family.

I cannot believe that this has any truth to it, the club used to organise street cleanups outside and around the ground during the game, and again after the match. Why would it change? The litter is there because of the event at WHL, the club is responsible and always has been, and has always taken it's local responsibilities very seriously. To me, this is the usual leftie Guardian anti-Spurs agenda bullshit.

https://www.football.london/tottenh...results/spurs-summer-pre-season-tour-15798174

Tottenham Hotspur will be making their way to Asia for their pre-season tour this summer, having spent the last two summers in the USA.

football.london understands that this year's International Champions Cup schedule will take Mauricio Pochettino and his side to Singapore first and then Shanghai in China.

With no competitive European international tournament this season, other than the UEFA Nations League finals in early June, many of Spurs' stars such as Harry Kane, Dele Alli & Co should be present for the tour.

That gives me goosebumps, not because @skiathospurs was making his TV debut there in a noddy hat, but because it’s what a real old school football atmosphere was like under the lights at WHL.

The other two brilliant recent examples are Inter Milan (3-1) home where the noise was the loudest I’ve ever heard at the Lane and the end of the Chelsea (2-0 Dele headers) at home ‘you’re shit’ ha ha.

Can’t wait to get back and have a big night when the Park Lane rocks it again, even though I was a shelf sider back in the day.

The pub with Aylesbury flag outside is the one we were in. It’s in the main square for anyone going this time around. Good inside and out.

Big article today by Jason Burt in the Saturday Telegraph on Moussa Sissoko and the belief and fight in the squad in the race for the title.

Quite a turnaround for the big man.

I read in the Times today (taken from Der Spiegel) that Daniel Levy ‘Hated the idea’ of a £30 cap on away fan ticket prices. I haven’t read either of the articles in full because The Times is a subscription and I haven’t looked up Der Spiegel.

I may be wrong but on the face of this snap shot, you have to say What a cunt.

It was reported at the time that we were against it,we proposed help with travel costs rather than a set ticket price cap.Have to say,I am not in love with the £30 cap on away for all, firstly because it has transformed away ticket applications allowing scalping of fans by fellow fans incases, and there are mass transferring of tickets online in order for the chosen 3k to stay top of the tree. Also why should home fans pay £70 and away fans from other london clubs £30,do these games really need a subsidy?not at all IMO.
The carte blanche cap is not perfect ; i would rather charge geordies travelling 8 hrs £10 and gooners £60 because that is fairer is it not??

Well there are several questions here.....if you’re one of the STH with 350+ points I guess most have earned them over a number of years of loyal support, including a lot of away games. That involves significant cost, travel, food, ticket and sometimes accommodation. Their choice and for many their life but a subsidy for supporting the team I’m all for. Noted there will be some you just harvest points and move tickets on, think that would happen regardless of cost. With regard to the Geordies and Goons I agree to a certain extent, but having had it revealed that fans are no longer ‘important’ financially (which I disagree with anyway) it’s probably up to NUFC to help their own fans, in the same way it would be ours in reverse.

Sure it’s not perfect, but it’s a good start.

Its just I see 100s of away tickets being offered for the not so glamourous fixtures, and I mean 100s,and that is just twitter not facebook, word of mouth, people I know. Its not the £30 i object to,its the point hoarding by many, who apply every game, cherry pick the few they want and move on the others to ensure they can cherry pick next time they want to go to the emirates.I am good friends with a spurs fan who lives in Chesterfield, maybe doesnt miss a single game most seasons home, away, europe,I think he would prefer some sense with kick off times or announcing dates earlier above a cap on ticket prices.
Most of the costs of damages, policing, stewarding are to do with away fans, not sure I totally agree with the home fans then subsidising this on top.

We also charge kids to be mascots, so I can see Levy being against any cost saving
