Reading Twitter, he (allegedly) came out to the press and said he thinks that it is time to do something new...

Things change and move on eh? It’s normal, just replace and upgrade if possible. Poch is the most important cog in the wheel, but even if he left that bloke at Ajax seems to have put a brilliant footballing side together. Who knew that Dusan Tadic was a phenomenal goal scorer?

Eriksen in his own words -

“I feel that I am a place in my career where I might want to try something new,” Eriksen told Ekstra Bladet.
“I have the wildest and deepest respect for everything that has happened at Tottenham – I will not be negative. But I have also said that I would like to try something new.
“I hope there will be a resolution during the summer. That’s the plan.
“In football, you do not know when a resolution will happen. It can happen anytime. Everyone wants the best to it to happen as soon as possible, but in football takes things time.
“It depends on Daniel Levy. And another club has to come (in with a transfer). Or I’ll have to sit down at the table and negotiate a new contract. You can’t set a date yourself.
“There are not many points that Tottenham cannot meet. If I have to go, then hopefully it will be a step up.”

Sooooo that's him gone then.

After Levy saying were not selling, and him now moving the goal posts to say he would be interested in a new challenge. It's just about us hanging it out until we get the right price.

Bigger issue right now is who we get to replace him. It makes our negotiations more difficult as we are now more desperate for that play maker and clubs now know this due to the comments. Prices go up and Levy gets pissed at having to shell out more money.

We’ll get more for Eriksen than pay for his replacement I would imagine. I mean if Lo Celso or Ndombele cost £75m then Eriksen is worth £90m? Levy will be happy with that and gives him £20m more to spend or add to wages budget.

Can’t imagine we will get £90m for him as he has only one year on his contract... happy to be wrong, though

Well it's been reported Chelski have agreed to a 89£ million fee with Madrid for Hazard--can't see Eriksen going for that much. Honestly, hard to read with those comments--basically, it's "if Madrid put in an offer for me, I'd like to go, but if not, I'll stay and get more money.." Fairly reasonable by modern football standards.

Can't see us getting more than 60M for him. We don't have a lot of leverage here given that there is only a year left on his contract.

Great player, no question but am I the only one not especially bothered one way or the other? I accept that he is a vital cog in our set up but I really think it is time to cash in and look at a younger, more mobile option. Jack Grealish would have been ideal but he's not on the table. Lo Celso is a very good player and I think would be a nice alternative for us.

with add ons its closer to 130m if reports are to be believed?who knows.I cant see madrid with what they have spent already taking hazard and eriksen without quite the clear out.PSG,Milan (either) cant see them being his choice of venue?maybe Juve if they came in but they put ramsey on huge wages.Apparently the offer on the table has been more than double his wages to same as dele 150k?I can see that happening and maybe a Real move in another year?unless he has burnt his bridges and the club actively hawk him round europe and sell to whoever to force the issue.Could get messy if it runs on too long,Levy will not want to either have not sold him or tie him down on a new contract. by august..

Think you're right with Ole tbh. they're in a right pickle as a club as have a few players De Gea, Rashford, Mata, and Bailly all coming into the last 12 months of contracts. If they lose De Gea and Rashoford in a year whilst having a merry go round of managers then I can only see a long struggle to get anywhere near the top again. Even with the dosh they have you gotta get a good manger and give money and time, all three of Pep, Poch, and Klopp had a tough first season and took time to get going. There's just so many good teams in the prem now that you can't epect to get a new manger spend 150 mil and see positive effects. Lose Rashford and De Gea and they're gonna struggle, the fans will be pissed right off too.

Rashford really needs a manger that's gonna coach him now too as he's no better now than he was 2-3 seasons ago really. Still quite one footed, poor in the air, and one dimensional. Poch could get more out of him for sure, as would Pep, Klopp, and probably Emery too. Think he'd do well to get away from Pogba and Lingard as they just seem to fuck around all the time.

Rashford signed a five year contract with United today.

I still wish they'd been daft enough to sell him to us

Honestly, I wouldn't wipe my arse with Marca
agreed, just feel if he was going to sign, should have happened by now, this time next year he,jan, toby are free agents,I can accept Jan and an extent toby, but eriksens age makes him a prime asset, thats a big chunk of change we would lose out on.

Yeah, I agree with that. But I don't necessarily see him as going to Real.

Honestly, if he wants to go to Real, fine, but we should hold them over a barrel (and also see if FCB are interested). Isco or Coutinho and some cash from us for Eriksen sounds about right.

I still think he'd suit Barcelona better, mind.

Either of those two would improve our squad...

I'm torn with the Dane... I wouldn't be gutted to see him go in all honesty as long as we replaced him.

I'd go for Coutinho out of the two with my pragmatic head on as he has been in the prem before and kept up with the pace of things. I love Isco though and if he could cope with the physicality he'd be a fucking revelation.

I fear that Isco is a bit of a baby. That will not work well in this league. I don't love Coutinho but I wouldn't mind him plus cash for Eriksen. I honestly think he may have screwed the pooch on this one. Doesn't seem like he is a priority for Real or Barcelona, so they likely won't offer a reasonable fee for him. If he plays this wrong he could end up in China. Hope he keeps things in perspective.

Fuck him. Like I said, I'm totally unbothered at the minute. Maybe this is where we get Ali fulfilling his potential?

To be honest, I think if we're going to stay at/improve on the level we're at right now I think we need to keep him.
