Man speaks sense eh!!
Mitsotakis thanked the overwhelming majority of people who understood the threat posed by the virus and stayed home.
“I will not, however, allow some frivolous, flippant people undermine the security of the many. Because those few can harm thousands,” the Greek prime minister said.

basically its what will come to the UK,people not paying attention to suggested ways to act will fuck it up for everyone.Honestly fair play to the bubbles, they are way behind other countries infection rates, and the shit state of their health service they know they have to keep it that way.
Its amazing people still blaming it on "china",or its just the flu,or not even believing its happening, its not quite end of days but if these muppets cant grasp the severity of what is coming and actually here in some places, then there is little hope.Trump and senators blaming china for hiding it for awhile, that would be fine if the 1st case wasnt reported in the US early january,so regardless of china the govt knew of it in their country 10 ? weeks ago and took 8 weeks to even offer advice let alone take measures. As for its just the flu its faster spreading, more contagious, leads to pnemonia type symptoms,if it reaches levels of normal flu transmissions i doubt these people will be around to tweet such bollocks.I saw a health professor say if he gets it,transmits it to the avg 3 people, withing a month that leads to 59k infections at that rate.

And as for people saying its not happening, yeah and the moon landings were filmed in hollywood, bush organised the planes in 9/11,and elvis was an alien.

Gallows humour is all we have left .
feel so sorry for my daughters age group ,they’ve been psyching themselves up for their GCSE’s in June , their school prom ( so important to them esp for girls , all that dressing up and parties , and then Reading festival , in Aug, the first two definitely cancelled ,and Reading will probably go as well .
i know Boris and Trump aren’t the most popular of people , but I think they’ve handled the situation very well , not jumping on the shut down straight away , there’s a video down on utube , done by a friends Son in-law, showing why the Govt HAD to let it come in Slowly and “ controllable” , the NHS couldn't have coped , if it all happened overnight .
to all the anti Trump people , objecting to him called it the Chinese Flu .....we’ll tough , the Spanish were the country responsible for the last major pandemic

Trump DENIED there was an issue for 6 weeks (he very likely spent that time shorting the market).

The USA, under Mike Pence's direction decided to use their own faulty test kits INSTEAD of the approved and accurate WHO ones and now have literally thousands of people who tested false negative now infecting society. Trump put Pence in charge of the Coronavirus taskforce or whatever the fuck he calls it.

Trump crushed Obamacare and now wants to reinstate it because you know, his privatised heath system is a disgrace and is trying to profiteer from a global disaster.

Just think about that and justify your position that he is doing a good job. Trump alone will be responsible for tens of thousands of deaths.

Literally the only way Trump could've handled this worse is if he'd dumped barrels of fucking COVID-19 in our drinking water. And it's getting worse every day--he insists on being at daily press conferences with the task force and every single time he goes off on some tangent about how he's losing money or abuses a reporter. He and his enablers are guilty of willful negligence that, as CK says, will kill thousands. Yet his cult (and that's what his voting base is) are as rabid as ever. If 30,000 people die, he'll go on TV bragging that if not for him, it'd have been 300,000. And his followers will believe it. Just 30 minutes ago with NYC hospitals already filling past capacity, he tweets this. Proper Churchillian/Rooseveltian shit:

One of the things I'm starting to understand all too well now is how important football has been to my mental health since that cretin got elected in 2016.

Saw something a few nights ago that said this is twice as infectious as the normal covids were used to getting...

So normal "flu" transition rates are 1-1, so after 5 infections there are 5 people infected... 1+1+1+1×1+1

This fucker left to it's own devices will transition 1-2 so that after 5 infections you are at 65,536 people infected...(1x2)(x4)(x8)x(16)x(256)

Each time those infected infect 2 people each...

It's obvious from that that this along with the prognosis for those with underlying health conditions, thats its a bit serious.

It's hard for people with more than one brain cell to understand. How can this wanker be seen as a good president or even an almost acceptable human being? How could that fucking ridiculous Brexit thing have ever happened? How could the twat we have as so-called Prime Minister have been elected? Money. Big money poured into social media and the ridiculously titled 'news' media, all designed to brainwash the low-IQ sheep-people. Job done.

Populism (facism) is the biggest con ever played, the rich will become much richer, they already self-isolate from normal peasants and they can afford the best health care if they do get infected. The sheep-people who still support the inactions of Trump , Johnson and the other right-wing wannabe dictators are beyond help, they won't self isolate to protect their fellow citizens but they want to self-isolate their entire fucking countries to keep the foreigners out, fucking unbelievable.

Even with this awful virus affecting the entire planet, the facists are more interested in blame than how to stop the spread of the disease. Trump is making sure everyone knows that China are to blame, yeah the fucking flag wavers love that, it ticks all their boxes, well, their only box - 'Blame Foreigners'.

Flu is most infectious when people have symptoms - so they are usually tucked up in bed, so they spread it less. This fucker apparently (nobody knows for sure yet so all reports like this have to be ignored) is infectious in asymptomatic folks. Also, the majority of Covid 19 infections are mild so people carry on with their normal lives, spreading lurgy all over the place.

The 5 factor you have quoted seems to have been doubled from the 'real' rate of 2 to 2,5 and the flu rate lowered from 1.3, fucking media! That's what they do to make everything seem more dramatic. Using numbers like the 65,536 infections is more than a bit iffy because by now the entire world would have Covid 19 - if you applied that sort of maths. If you go the next step you get 4.2 billionn, just one more takes you to some big fuck off number that is 3 billion times the population of the plant!

Just like the headlines screaming about the increased infection rates are bollocks - without being able to compare the number of tests, the type of tests carried out and the health of the people tested, the number of infected is meaningless.

Bruv, if you are relying on Spurs to keep you mentally stable..... might be worth talking to someone as this club is Schizophrenic.....

I obviously say this initially taking the piss, but also seriously if you do need a chat, talk to someone.

Thanks man, I'm good--mainly because I'm busy, and that doesn't look like changing. TBH I miss my kids playing (and me coaching) more than Tottenham. Still, some football wouldn't go amiss right now, even Mou's turgid shit.

Haha, no way, if you think this would help you're stark raving bonkers already bruv...!!!

Just vent on here mate or start some mini exercise programme... I cant say enough how great I feel after a workout both physically and mentally... I have learned that being physically active is 100% the most important aspect to my overall wellbeing...

Simple stuff like Joe Wickes on Youtube are superb and keeping you active for just 20 mins a day...

After about 10 days the aches and pains will ease as tour body adapts.... fuck, I've now got until Sept off with the kids so these poor little shits are going to be the fittest kids of their age.... I will have mini Olympians by Christmas...!!!

Forgot all of that for a second. How is everybody on here doing? Me and my boys are well. Holed up 20 stories in the air with lost of food and clorox. Luckily we are all healthy and i have masks and food reserves, as my emergency management director and I have been planning for this since late January. How the rest of the government missed the memo is fucking beyond me. Be safe, brothers and sisters.

The head of the World Health Organization (WHO) says the coronavirus pandemic is "accelerating".

Speaking at a press briefing in Geneva, WHO Director General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus said: “It took 67 days from the first reported case to reach 100,000 cases, 11 days for the second 100,000 cases, and just four days for the third 100,000 cases.”

Isn't that how all viruses work? Your kids get it at school and don't even notice then they pass it on to you and you pass it on to the folks at work who don't have kids who then pass it on to their mates at the trendy clubs that you couldn't go to because you had terrible man flu, had kids and were skint and knackered.... etc.

It seems to me that the only way to stop the acceleration is to do what the feds in Spain, Italy, France and now Belgium are doing now, China and Taiwan did earlier and the whole fucking world will need to do as soon as possible and shut the fuck down. Yes it's inconvenient being stuck at home and only being allowed out for essential stuff but surely that is better than killing someone or yourself because you are too fucking selfish to self-isolate - AND if that person happens to be me, in the vulnerable group, then I am going to come back and haunt the fuck out of you.

There is going to be a worldwide recession, 2020 is a write of. It will be a total cunt financially for a decade, probably ,. Adding the economical carnage of Covid 19 to the intentional self-harm of Brexit will maybe take several decades for the UK to recover from, but being 'banged up' at home for a few months is surely better than risking death for any member of your family and most importantly - me! There are flag waving cunts who would probably chose death over restricted freedom, but the gene pool probably needs those wankers toddling off so evolution can restart so ....

My advice to tweedle dum Trump and tweedle dee Johnson is shut the fuck down, now!

I just cant fathom why trump, johnson have taken so much time to reach the inevitable because it was inevitable. The time lost will have cost lives and allowed more damage to society, results elsewhere have shown this. That herd immunity idea, was about as fanciful as leeches in the 16th century..Like here (greece) when they shut everything except non essential there will be a panic (more mentally than physically),but panic has already occurred with the hoarding, people have seen it coming. When they further announce mandatory stay at home, people will accept the new tempoary norm because police will enforce it.Not sure how that will play out in the states with so many guns in play and "patriots" defending their rights.I am sure the guys there can answer that better?

Hey Skiathos, I'd reply but I'm too busy shooting at shit form my balcony. 🔫 Hoping it doesn't come to that but there is some fear of unrest developing if things go a certain way. I remain hopeful.

On a serious note, we are essentially locked down here in New York. Well, aside from the hipsters who are sill having alley parties and getting together in large groups. Otherwise it's just grocer stores, pharmacies and liquor stores that are open. The real, honest problem is that there's just too many people here. Even with so few out you still have to single file down the sidewalk so some schlump doesn't invade your 6-foot protective barrier.

Honestly I believe they will review quickly and then permits, curfews and closing some spaces will be mandatory. These idiots cant be trusted and further enforcement for me is obvious.I give it a week at most.It wont effect you (maybe mentally needing a permit to walk the dog or go shopping) but will give the police more evidential reasons to fine or detain the morons.

Thanks, BY.

All is surprisingly good here. We live next door to a baker, know lots of farmers, and my mate who works at a brewery drops off cans as necessary. I have a life-long habit of hoarding food like a neonazi, so the larder's still full. I work in the financial industry, so I'm busier than I'd like to be, but I still have money coming in. All my relations are healthy. The kids are feeling it a bit, but they're okay.

Cued up Tottenham-Chelsea Jan 4/17 yesterday, crushed a few cans, and me and my boy got to watch Delle pop those two headers past Courtois. Went online with a buddy afterwards and we played a few songs together.

But...most of my friends are struggling: builders, farmers, musicians, bartenders. They're maintaining game face, and Canada is relatively unscathed thus far, but that means it's going to get a lot worse.

Stay strong, friends. Talk to someone if you need to. Or if they need it.

I'm in NC, where there's a lot more of that element. But in the cities (and I commute to work in a decent-sized one) there really isn't that much of that, and that's really the only place a lockdown is all that meaningful. The countryside, like not too far out of the cities, is full of the kinds of good ol' boys you're talking about, and they're fucking unhinged and well-armed--I should know, a few are my relatives. But that was true before all this.

At the same time, just a couple hours ago we had the President saying (directly contradicting his own medical experts) that we may be getting back to normal again, and republican politicians saying, pretty much explicitly, that we may have to sacrifice some lives to keep the economy going. Speechless.
