I had a barney with a stupid woman once, she was travelling to Peru with her young children, volunteering for six months and giving her kids the trip of a lifetime. But, she was one of them nutters and said she was giving her children homeopathic vaccinations. I said she was a child abuser and mentioned how 'popular' Polio (kills and cripples children) was when I was a kid and how vaccinations had pretty much sorted that - and smallpox (kills and cripples children) and measles (kills children). I also mentioned how things like Yellow fever, hepatitis, tetanus, typhoid and many other bastard disease killed children in Peru and how homeopathy was a hippy pile of drivel. Fucking homeopathy! The total bollocks that water has a memory of all the diluted hundreds of times shit that has been in that water will cause 'like to cure like' is the biggest pile of poo ever. Every molecule of water on the planet has at some stage in its billions of year life been in contact with every molecule that has ever existed, so drinking a glass of water should homoeopathically cure every disease.
There is no evidence that vaccinations cause Autism, there is an enormous amount evidence that vaccinations stop kiddies dying.

I'm an academic historian by training (hopefully soon by trade),so I tend to think about these things in terms of underlying causes and precedents. I read an opinion piece today that had a line which is all too true in my opinion: "Democracy is never pronounced dead at the scene." We were already in deep shit before this thing hit, and I have no idea where we're headed. But it doesn't look good, even if, as our Dear Leader prophesied in a press conference back in March, this thing miraculously disappears by May.

Its many countries,the division is incredible in 2 party majority politics.I have little time for either side TBH,I distrust 98% of politicians,very few are truly in it for the people and thats either end of the spectrum.If I expressed my views I would sound like a utopian,tree hugging CND,vegan,greenpeace nutter.When really I just want to express my disbelief that for centuries we spend more on weapons and waging war than helping/treating our citizens,which seems even more pertinent in this time of health crisis.I am not advocating total disarming,and i am not in anyway one to take a backward step when threatend,but its all about taking something,keeping something for economic advantage,and has been since the romans,queen victoria and now trump.I see so little care for the people in politics,just care for the economy.
I will be truly pissed off if we under go 2 or more months of lockdown here,and the government decides to take the tourist money for a 8 week short tourist season from july and play russian roulette with lives.It will hurt me financially hugely,but i dont want to die because someone comes from other countries and brings death on a plane with them to make some money,holidays are hardly essential services.And yet I guess thats exactly what will happen (hopefully not the dying part!).Do people really think higher GDP means more happiness?As for USA,4 more years of this nutter you may well have your own Putin for life president..

Its greek orthodox church easter this weekend,its the biggest day of the year their xmas day and boy are they cracking down in advance.All churches to be locked and no services (live streamed),they have cancelled the bringing of the holy light from jerusalem to churches (big deal if youre not a pagan like me),its still a hugely religious country,havent seen any protests or mwaaaaa its not fair,a few priests already been caught and fined for holding snidey services this week,and in a few hours ALL traffic is banned until monday morning to stop people visiting families/friends especially tomorrow which is a huge feast day,normally a whole spit roasted lamb and other meats and huge gatherings,everyone has been told this is a big no no,but still i saw people buying whole lamb and the huge bbqs have sold out.If people especially in town are too blatant I can see us under curfew from monday as punishment,this government is not fucking around,so close getting it gone,only just over 100 deaths in the country.From what I have seen elsewhere in some places,police advisement just doesnt cut it.If you are caught driving,its £300 fine, and they take your number plates,meaning for a period they have taken your car away.

You can't buy barbecues here mate, the big Carrefour supermarket is open but all the non-food aisles are cordoned off and you can only buy essentials like food, ciggies, alcohol and stuff in the pharmacies. We don't think Mrs D will be allowed to go there anyway next week because it isn't our closest Supermarket and she might get busted by Plod, I haven't left the house for over a month now as I am a venerable person ( yeah I meant that, not vulnerable, that's old sick people..... ) am in self-isolation. That actually suits me very nicely because I am a right anti-social cunt and why would I bother wanting to be somewhere else when it's very nice here?
We've got another 4 weeks of lockdown before they might try start to ease it slightly. Yeah I saw The spaniels are taking a hard line with the lockdown,honest if it had happened months later we would be fucked here,but greece as a whole has no off peak winter tourism unlike spain so they escaped with very few bringing it in to begin with.So far today I havent seen or heard a single car,a couple of scooters,probably delivering essentials like takeaway coffee and pastries FFS !

I'm neither Orthodox nor in Greece, but having seen this, I'm gonna have to cook lamb over coals this weekend.
As a measure of how crazy things have gotten, the farmer who I'll get the flesh from can't even do the same. He's not allowed fires in his idyllic rural setting because the emergency folk need to be ready to deal with other sorts of dipshittery.

The same thing happens here about now because of the risk of fires,bbqs are ok in some areas,others well you wouldnt if you built in a pine forest.When I clear some of the stuff in the winter it has to be perfect before I burn any bits of tree,soaked ground after rain,no wind,I try and take off any cones to prevent them shooting embers,all aorund its a carpet of pine needles and them things go up like a gun powder fuse!!
But the lamb was nice (considering it was greek farmed,normally pretty skinny),its about the only time of year we have it or can afford it,prices outside of easter I`d rather buy beef than a pile of bones from summer lamb,not a lot of nice green pastures in this neck of the woods!!
