Key words...

I'd be more on the if it goes wrong, then it was Paratici.....and if he's a success, well, I'd say Danny will somehow try and take the credit. Or maybe I'm becoming a cynical paranoid middle aged man ?...Maybe all if the above. Who knows ?!? Ah the mysterious of life. And the madness of a Spurs fan.....
Becoming a cynical paranoid middle aged man is one of the steps you must take to reach the enlightened stage I have ascended to - cynical, paranoid old man. What is 'middle aged'? if you think that the average life expectancy of a geezer in the UK is 79, then middle-aged must start at 40'ish.

When does old age start? I suppose it must be 60 onwards, so I am old, I don't feel old, but my fucking knees do and the eye that works is getting less useful every day, but I passed the medical for my Spanish driving licence so semi-blind folks like me are not discriminated against here, I can drive if I want, luckily for other road users I don't want to. Don't get me started about medication, I take my medication now, I didn't and I ended up in hospital last year needing another stent, I have got more stents than arteries now so I will be a good boy and take all those pills. What were we talking about? Oh, yes, who stole my slippers? I expect it was one of you young middle aged cunts.

This says all you need to know about the risk Levy knows he's taking...League one managers would get a better contract than that.

Yeah, this is like a contract you’d expect at Chelsea

Can't say I disagree with a lot of this, especially the bit in bold ..

Having never stayed at a club for longer than three years, Tottenham’s top brass are expecting miracles from the 48-year-old manager, whose managerial career has seen him make fleeting pitstops in more places than a lorry driver on a long-haul route.

It almost leads one to believe that Daniel Levy and Fabio Paratici are using Fonseca as a stopgap manager, a de facto leader to temporarily — for up to two years — fill the position until they secure a primary, elite target for the long term.

That might be a pessimistic way of looking at the current situation, but it would be remiss not to question the Board’s intentions after the mess they’ve recently created.

And when you dive into Fonseca’s history — in which he has only eclipsed the 100-game mark in charge of two clubs (Roma and Shakhtar Donetsk) — it only exacerbates the unnerving suspicion that Fonseca isn’t expected to be the man in charge of a long-term rebuild.

I suspect Levy was insisting on Mason and the King being kept on with Conte as well which could be one of the reasons why everything fell apart.

But then I remember reading somewhere that we'd end up getting the manager we deserve, not the manager we want, and that's probably really what's happened.

I'm cautiously optimistic about this & Paratici's appointments. May be just what we need at this time rather than a super high profile coming in making huge demands. Needless to say, there have to be some clear player in & outs.

Tottenham had reportedly 'agreed terms' with Sevilla manager Julien Lopetegui before a deal eventually collapsed, causing them to move onto former Roma boss Paulo Fonseca.

Spurs have been without a manager since Jose Mourinho was sacked from the job back in April, with Ryan Mason taking charge on an interim basis in the final weeks of the season.

The North London club had been linked with Italian coach Antonio Conte, as well as their former boss Mauricio Pochettino.

However, they appear to have settled on former Roma manager Paulo Fonseca, a decision a large portion of the Tottenham fanbase appears to be unhappy with.

Furthermore, Sunday Times journalist Duncan Castle has claimed that Spurs were close to appointing Sevilla's Julien Lopetegui before a deal collapsed, forcing them to move on to Fonseca instead.

"They [Tottenham] went a long way down the line with Julien Lopategui the Sevilla coach," Castles said speaking on The Transfer Window Podcast.

"They had agreed terms with Sevilla to release him from his contract for £4million, the release clause in his contract and also agreed terms on a contract.

"Then for personal reasons related to family matters and because of changes brought about on movement of individuals because of Brexit, Lopategui pulled out of that deal and Tottenham then went for Fonseca."

Lopategui has spent two successful seasons as Sevilla boss since his appointment in the summer of 2019.

The Spaniard has fired Los Palanganas to back-to-back fourth-place La Liga finishes, while also clinching the Europa League trophy in 2020 after defeating Inter Milan 3-2 in the final.

If Paratici feels this strongly about Fonseca, I'll back him.

Being the circus that we are in this managerial pursuit, it took some time for the majority of the fans to come around to accept Fonseca. And now this.

Yeah that's a good point actually. Reading around, the feeling was coming round to him based on his approach to how he wants his teams to play and now we've gone and Spursed it right up.

Thing is with Gattuso, he's only recently been appointed by Fiorentina but he's now said to be wanting to leave after just 23 days after disagreements over transfer policy.

Which, I suppose, makes him the ideal fit for us ..

So, Jorge Mendes has lots of clients and Gattuso. Gattuso wanted Fiorintina to sign some of these clients but the club was not sure of there quality. But they are cheap, and Gattuso probably has some money involved.

so now, Levy will get a cheap manager with access to cheap players which may or may not make a profit for the club.

thats What I think

THFC the laughing stock of world football, we are becoming like Bozo's Global Britain, the world is having to buy incontinence pants because they are all pissing themselves laughing.

Gatuso is jacking in Fiorentina after 23 fucking days because they won't spend the money on transfers he wants - and the dozy cunt is going to come to Tottenham under Mr Prudent? If this is the case then he is a fucking moron and we had one of them last season. Is he the only manager left in the world who has not blanked Levy? I would rather Harry came back for a season or he let Ryan Mason carry on. This is fucking bollocks, settling for who ever is available because ALL the top managers wouldn't work for Sensible Danny.
