I'm paraphrasing a tweet I saw last night but it said "Jose Mourinho has managed in the Europa League four times. He's reached the final in three of those. Have a guess which club he failed with ?".

*sigh*

I get it but he & the other 2 high profile manager's playing styles didn't align with the club's. At least for me it didn't. It's not a win at all cost scenario for me. I want to enjoy the games & feel some pride in our play. I had regained that during the Poch years.

Arne Slot seems to be creeping ahead as the next potential manager based on what I've read.

His assistant at Feyenoord has already pre-empted any decision though by declaring that if Slot does leave, he won't be following.

That's John de Wolf. He's Feyenoord through & through.

This is him in his playing days.

This is him now.

Can you imagine our little fawns in his presence? He would scare the bejesus out of them.

Think Slot has a contract till 2026 so Levy will have to pay out if he wants him now. Don't know if I can see that happening. Hope I'm wrong cos i think he could be a good fit for us.

I believe his contract has a release clause but it doesn't come into effect until next year.

We can hire Nuno until then.

But looking at that glorious mane above, maybe we should be trying to lure the wolf instead of Arne.

There was a fee of around £6m being spoken about to get him which shouldn't be too much of a problem.

From what I’ve seen of Feyenoord, Slot would be a very good manager for a rebuild. I like their football, and beating Ajax/PSV to the Dutch league title is no small feat. Honestly, I really don’t feel all that strongly about anybody we’ve been linked with since Tony was sacked. Other than Poch, I mean.

I just hope we get it sorted soon—whoever takes the job has a massive job ahead of him.

I had to laugh about this last night. Apparently Nagelsmann is now back in contention for the job but still wants assurances about certain things, including the DoF.

So someone has clearly told Levy that the PR 'strategy' of denying that anyone was a front runner and that the club hadn't spoken to anyone yet was a complete failure.

Interestingly though, I noticed another claim that our summer recruitment would be "very different" to the past because we'd apparently be adopting the same 'moneyball' strategy employed by Brentford and Brighton where it's all statistically based.

Would be delighted if we went the moneyball route.
Absolutely sick of the expensive flops we keep buying
A tougher version of FFP is supposedly closing in. If we want to stay in line, with CL disappearing for maybe a few years, we need a new approach.

Indeed. Moneyball or whatever you want to call it, we need a strategy.

Apparently Slot's £6m release clause is only valid next season. If we appoint him this summer it'll supposedly be around £10m.

But then if it's really true that Nagelsmann is still an option then I certainly think it's worth at least trying to get him.

If only we didn't fire Conte, and/or had appointed Poch or Nagglesman asap. Instead we get to dream about Frank or Slot coming to the rescue. Holy hell, Levy really is a moron.

Seems now that the reports of Nagelsmann still being an option were somewhat premature.

I've got a funny feeling that no appointments will be made until Scott Munn takes over - in July.

There are claims that he's told his agents to "force through" a move to Tottenham. Also that he's got a meeting scheduled with them on Wednesday but also that we have "completed the first round of interviews" and still have no top target.

I'll be delighted if we do get him, but it's getting to a point now where I'll only believe it when I see someone holding up the shirt while the Dark Lord stands beside him grinning like a lunatic.

Yeah, apparently he was accused of mailing it in so to speak after he had his head turned by Feyenoord.

But the PL is a big step up from the Eredivisie, if he's got the chops I'm willing to endure the links with so-called bigger clubs--we certainly went through that with Poch, who after all, turned his back on Southampton.

Different dynamic altogether than Conte and Mourinho, who always acted as if the job was beneath them. My gut tells me Nagelsmann would be the same, but who knows.

If Arne Slot gets the job, the puns will be endless.

But I do like "Yid Arne"

Shows we are being successful. I'd rather have a Harry Kane as our main striker attracting attention, than some of the flops we've had over the years that noone wants to pay serious money for

Well it’s being reported that the Slot Machine has now formally asked to leave Feyenoord but that we’re €5m apart from what they want in compensation against what we’re willing to pay.

So nothing changes :)

Sell Rodon, release Tanganga, and the wages and fee should add up to enough to buy and feed the Feyenoord Phenom.

I'd personally be reluctant to sell Rodon as I've always felt he could have some serious potential. But then we could always potentially send them Fatty as payment ..

I read earlier on that we're even supposedly willing to give him control over transfers and the choice of his own staff.

Seems unlikely, unless the club has consulted directly with Scott Munn, but I'd love it if it turned out to be true.
