The player agreed everything with us. His club wants a certain figure. Last I heard it was as good as there. This one is on the club if they fek this up

I'd be surprised if this doesn't happen, I'm also surprised that it hasn't already.

Ange wants to see more, and also some in game situations before decisions are finalized. That's why so many are going on the tour. Some I expected to be automatic outs have been impressing which is why he feels he needs to see more.

VdV everything has been agreed between the clubs for a couple of days, no idea why we haven't finalized. I was told on Thursday we were looking to push it through, then it just went silent.

Lots of interest in quite a few players. Once Ange has made his mind up I can see a few leaving quickly.

Outs have gone quiet as Ange wanted a bit more time to assess.

The VdV deal isn't officially off, but we've managed to upset a few people at the last minute once again.

Get everything agreed, and then not be happy with the way the deal is shaped. Its once again trying to get that extra last minute win on a deal we have already got the win on. We've been here numerous times before and we know from past experience we are not worried to walk away for things like this and worse someone else swoops in or the player just has enough of the pissing about.

I'm now fully aware things haven't changed

Bring in a new chief of football, new sporting director, new manager, new scouts. It doesn’t make a difference. Nothing will change when one man is making the decision in giving the green light to finalising a deal.

Pointless. Waste of time.

Having Levy running our club is like asking Ronald Mcdonald to look after your cows.

As far as I know (which may well be much less accurate than info from other ITKs),the situation hasn’t changed. Tapsoba’s price is closer to, but not yet at, our ceiling. The van de Ven deal is ready to be finalized. Possible, but not probable to do both until an outgoing or two.

Subject: Phillips and wider recruitment of young players

Given that 'enquired about' is often a euphemism for a phone conversation that starts "Are you willing to sell the player and if so at what price?", we have enquired about Phillips (and another young Blackburn player whose name I can't recall),as well as players like Scott at Bristol City, Cresswell at Millwall, and a couple of players from each of Watford, Sheffield United and Sunderland. These sorts of conversations go on all the time. Unfortunately, over the last few years the best young EFL players have too often been vacuumed up by Chelsea, Man City, etc. I know we'd absolutely love to get in more young HG talent, and are actively trying to do so (it's a 'point of emphasis' for the new regime),but it won't be easy.

I haven't heard that Phillips is a done deal but if it is that's good news.

We are still interested in bringing both in. In an ideal world, that's been the plan from the beginning!

Whether we can make it happen is a completely different matter. But we are certainly trying to do both deals. We should know this week whether that's actually possible.

From my POV everything was agreed via intermediaries and agents and then Levy wanted to change the deal to spread the payments(same fee) out over a longer period than we had initially agreed to.

I have since heard(via another source) that this has been done intentionally to delay the deal as we explore other avenues, whilst keeping this one alive, and we will do the original deal if we have to. The second source isn't as close as the first one so not sure if it's true or not.

Lenglet isn't likely to be one no, he's a long way down the list. Most likely scenario is one of VdV or Tapsoba with the likes of Tosin. I've been told again not to completely rule out Tapsoba & VdV although I do appreciate that's probably very unlikely. There are never any certainties with Tottenham, but I would be absolutely gobsmacked if we didn't get one of VdV or Tapsoba. Ange has been incredibly vocal with the need for defensive reinforcements and I honestly feel he will finally be the manager to get them. It was a pre season friendly today but you could see the potential going forward and it could be quite frightening when it all clicks. So one hopes that certain big wigs can see that we're potentially just a few strong additions away from being a very decent outfit this year. I said it a few weeks back but Ange is really impressing behind the scenes, the club has got a buzz around it, one we haven't seen since early Poch days. I just pray that Levy finally understands the importance of truly backing a manager. I have my doubts, but I'm trying to remain positive.

Despite playing on the tour, respecting Ange, appreciating our fans, working hard in training, etc, following a candid conversation with DL the expectation within the Kane camp is that he will not be a Spurs player by the time the window closes.

My opinion over the last few days was that Kane would be leaving. My opinion hasn't changed and I've still heard absolutely nothing on the situation. What I have now been told (and it's not groundbreaking),is that if/when Kane leaves, we are extremely interested in Muani.

the club know 100% if/when Kane leaves they need to do something serious to appease the fans so I would highly expect the likes of Muani/Vlahovic to come in very quickly following his departure. I know we have spoken to Frankfurt & Juventus about both players.

it's all very confusing right now.

I've just had a conversation with an agent(close to the club) who 100% believes this is already agreed in principle between Spurs and Bayern, and it's about lining up ducks now before it happens.

On the other hand another guy I trust believes Bayern still aren't close, but we are already lining up possible replacements just in case, according to him we have been for a while just in case. He also said Ange is OK with it, as long as we get one of the three we've sounded out(names are all out there). He believes it's 50/50.

My personal opinion is I want him to stay and build around him, but at the same time if he definitely isn't going to sign a new deal as far as a full rebuild is concerned, he has to go now.

Bit of Rock Solid. Was going to be one of the two CHs we've been linked with and a cheaper one as well. Now waiting for Harry to go and maybe buy both CHs and a younger reserve striker. Like it or not, Rich appears to be our new No. 9.

Yeah meeting obviously happening today where I think it's likely they will strike a deal for Kane. As has been mentioned before, they like to finalise the deal in person so speaks volumes they're both flying across for the meeting today.

Richarlison has impressed Ange in pre season and he feels he can bag plenty of goals for him so I would say the likelihood is we bring both VdV & Tapsoba in followed by an exciting young talent who can play across the front three.
