if we were sitting back against City, they would be 4 up by now. Our press is keeping us in the game. They scored from a set piece and a mistake by Davies dropping too deep to track the runner. It's an analogy based on results. You can't start losing 4-5 games in a row in the Premier League no matter what style you are trying to implement and no matter where you are in the league. If your players aren't good enough then your players aren't good enough. Yes our injured players could probably field an 11 that could beat this one. However, it is part of the manager's job to decide we're going to isolate Doku against Ben Davies at right centre back instead of playing 5-4-1 and sitting deep for example. He has to take some responsibility for game management, even if he has a long term vision that gets us pumped in the short term.
Or go unbeaten for our first 10 games. Horses for courses mate.Yeah, okay. Must keep losing 2+ goals per game against West Ham.
Yep... He is a fucking donk...!Emerson Royal hasn't a clue what he's at....
Have you noticed who we are playing and where? There has been some great defending and all you can do is whinge about the ‘mistakes’.3 mistakes, so fucking costly
if that’s supposed to be sarcasm, that’s total bollocks as well. low value, very low value.Yeah, okay. Must keep losing 2+ goals per game against West Ham.
More frustrated than anything. We have been so good so far,Have you noticed who we are playing and where? There has been some great defending and all you can do is whinge about the ‘mistakes’.
Have to agree the substitutes have changed he shape application and we always looked like the team who would score... Bisoumas mistake aside and we're 3-2 up right now.We are fucking outstanding
Mate that performance overall was fucking fantastic...More frustrated than anything. We have been so good so far,
Tim Howard is a studio pundit over here and he was just making pretty much exactly the same point. Every way of playing carries its own risks. Even if Ange was inclined to, this team is not built to sit deep, hoof it long, and concede possession. We had no first team CBs available (or maybe 1/2 of one, Davies has a good bit of experience there in a back three)if we were sitting back against City, they would be 4 up by now. Our press is keeping us in the game. They scored from a set piece and a mistake by Davies dropping too deep to track the runner.
Our general play has been fantastic. We are being brave and playing to our strengths and not our weakness.
That is why it is 2-2
We can blame the makeshift back 4 all we want but we rely too much on individual brilliance to get us out of trouble.
General thoughts:
Johnson's defensive play isn't good enough and would rather have Richarlison on the left.
Losing 4 games in a row from winning positions is more of a mentality issue than a squad ability issue.
Ange has to take some responsibility for becoming more and more like de Boer at Crystal Palace than Pep at Man City.
Must get points from West Ham and stop losing 2+ goals every fucking game.
I was reasonably happy with Gil given our front three were feeding off scraps in the first half. He was also very clever to set us away for the first goal. One thing you want to see in injury crisis is players on the margins forcing their way into the manager's plans. Dos Santos has very much done that IMO. I was really hoping Gil would do the same, but he looks way off the pace.
Fair enough: I forgot about his contribution on Son's goal. I hope you're right, because I love players that are brave on the ball, which he definitely is.I was reasonably happy with Gil given our front three were feeding off scraps in the first half. I’m very confident there is a player there.
