Apparently Timo Werner is said to be talking to the New York Red Bulls in MLS who want to sign him before the end of this window.
Hopefully Ange is helping him get his baggage sorted as we speak.

I suspect he'd have the veritable taxi rank waiting for him outside the club with everyone willing to drive him to the airport :)

But then with Solanke out and Sonny on his knees, would we be wise to let him go ?

Which makes me even more convinced we'll get a last minute loan punt on one or two players.

Potentially Frazier Campbell all over again.

Moore is healthy, and Richy can play there too once Solanke is back.

Ah look, I felt sorry for Werner. He gave us some great moments in fairness but he's just not at the level we need. Wherever he lands, genuinely hope he gets some confidence back.

Yeah, it’s not like he doesn’t want to score. In a way he’s kind of the poster child for our bargain bin approach to building a squad, which is not his fault.

If he does wind up over here in MLS it will probably be a good move for him. Quality is decent, and very little pressure from the media

Tottenham Hotspur will spend this week trying to hand under-pressure head coach Ange Postecoglou a transfer boost and the club are attempting to accelerate plans for the summer to avoid another slow-moving window.

Southampton winger Tyler Dibling and Lille midfielder Angel Gomes are two players Spurs have held talks over as they attempt to set up deals for the summer window, and they are also trying to secure at least one new outfield signing this month.

Postecoglou admitted that he would desperately like at least one new player through the door before the transfer window shuts next Monday to help him get through the next 10 days to two weeks, when he hopes a number of key players will start returning from injury.

Tottenham have been looking at defenders and forwards this month, but have found the January market to be extremely challenging. They are yet to make a single outfield signing.

Their interest in a loan deal for Evan Ferguson has underlined the challenge they face as the Brighton and Republic of Ireland international, who is also interesting West Ham, would be reluctant to agree a deal with Spurs in the knowledge that Richarlison is available again and Dominic Solanke will return to fitness in around five weeks.

Spurs would ideally like to sign Dibling in January but if that proves beyond them the club are also discussing trying to get an agreement in place for him to move at the end of the season.

Sporting director Johan Lange sat next to chief football officer Scott Munn behind chairman Daniel Levy during Sunday’s defeat by Leicester that Postecoglou described as being his lowest point of the season.

Goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky is Tottenham’s only January signing so far and the lack of outfield reinforcements has hit Postecoglou hard.

Not only could Postecoglou not name a full substitutes’ bench for the latest home defeat but he admitted that goalscorer Richarlison should have been taken off at half-time and Pape Matar Sarr should not have played at all.

While Postecoglou has been relatively calm about Tottenham’s lack of business so far, it is understood there is frustration from staff behind the scenes that outfield players have not been brought in earlier to try to alleviate some of the Australian’s problems.

Tottenham have been desperate to avoid rushing into a decision on Postecoglou’s future and the focus has been trying to support him, but pressure is growing following successive defeats by Everton and Leicester, and with his team stuck in 15th place, eight points above the relegation zone.

It is understood that Spurs are understanding of the injury crisis Postecoglou has faced and believe that changing the manager again would leave the club in a difficult position as they attempt to build something lasting.

Furthermore, the prospect of having to finish a third season with Ryan Mason in caretaker charge would be hugely embarrassing and provoke more criticism towards Levy.

Midfield is not an area of priority for January, but Gomes – who is out of contract at the end of the season and free to speak to clubs outside France – is a player on Tottenham’s radar.

Securing agreements for both players before the summer, or at least advancing negotiations, would put Tottenham in a strong position but they acknowledge that the next week must be spent trying to hand Postecoglou a much-needed boost.

They're backing him with talk, and we all know how much that's worth. At this point I swear I wouldn't be shocked if Ange just rocked up to a press conference and said, "I quit." Delighted we're being linked with Dibling, especially, but we need players now. Even two players, not stars but solid pros, could make a massive difference at this point.

Apparently the young lad we signed from South Korea and brought over early in December is being touted for a loan to QPR ..

If we brought in Angel Gomes and Tyler Dibling, we’d be doing very well (for a start at least.) The big knock on Gomes is his size/stature, but he’s a very good player.

Dibling looks a can’t miss prospect to me. We’d be lucky to get him.

Isn't Gomes 5'5"? That's Levy levels.

I read that Dibling, if bought, would be loaned back to Southampton. But then others have said that the loan cannot be done.

That lad's a proper talent. Have to buy him if he's up for it.

Gomes, Dorgu, Dibling, Delap, Kolo Muani and now we are linked to Nico Williams.

It’s hilarious, and straight from the Levy playbook. Leak it to the gutter press that we are in for some big or semi-big names, in the full knowledge that we aren’t serious about any of them. Then come out after the window closes and say that we really tried our best but couldn’t land any of them.

Seriously, haven’t we all been around long enough and seen this movie many times before?

per today's presser

I’d be disingenuous if I said anything other than fight now there’s nothing imminent but that doesn’t mean there isn’t opportunity being explored. Traditionally the last few days of any window tend to be pretty frenetic. I expect us to be involved in that. Does that mean anything will get concluded? I can’t commit to that because I’m a bit of a distance from it but the information and dialogue I have is we’re exploring all the opportunities to see if we can bring some help in with the finances.

I suppose we’ve balanced the books .. one in and one out ..

And I bet Mikey Moore still doesn’t start tomorrow.

In the last few hours, indirect contacts between Tottenham and Milan for Noah Okafor. Tottenham are looking for a winger and are targeting Mathys Tel but the competition is very high. Okafor has been proposed as an alternative solution.
