If this doesn't kick start us, then nothing will. We played like crap but that has got to feel good. That came from nowhere. Now go on and win this cup! COYS!

Ange said Odobert’s injury was likely “pretty significant.” If true, that’s very bad news.

I saw that. If he's done his cruciates then that's him out until next season.

Something I’ve done very rarely, coz I’m not a big fan but big shoutout to Deki, he was the difference maker when he came on. Making great runs off the ball, taking men on, just looked really lively. Completely changed the dynamics of our performance. Very happy for Johnson but he just offers so little during matches.

Deki has been our best player since the start of pre-season. He really links up play well centrally.

Would like to see him play that roll instead of Maddison tbh. He's strong and always gives 100%. Doesn't have pace but wouldn't matter if he's in that central area as opposed to out wide.

Really good to get the win without a penalty shout out, but by fuck we were shite! Completely outplayed by Coventry flip sake.

We just simply never looked like scoring. One thing I noted in this game though was how Coventry set up. Everyone is doing the same thing now. Allow us to play upto the box but pack it with people so we can't touch it around the area. Swarm corners (obviously) and during general play swamp the final third. We have defense and attack. There is no middle bit. Swamp the final third and we can't pass anywhere.

Deki was great when he came on as mentioned. Spence was ok as well.

Thought this was the game Solanke could ping one in and get that out the way but no joy, he was a so quiet although not much service.

Great to progress but shocking performance. I was really glad the team didn't go over the top at the end, they knew fine rightly that's a snatch and grab.

Does it make sense to say that yes, he's been our best player, and still maintain that he's just not good enough?

Meaning, everyone else has to step up (time yet for Solanke, clock ticking on the veterans) or we need newer toys.

I’d say he’s been our best player and he seems to be improving, adding a new dimension to his game. His ability to play through the middle is not what was advertised when we bought him.

Nice touch by Sonny at the end taking Brennan over to our fans to celebrate 🥳
Definitely. I imagine he's got the whole squad behind him at the moment.

With Odobert likely out long term, he's probably going to feature a lot more than planned so I hope that goal gives him the confidence to just play his game. He got 10 assists and 5 goals last season which was better than a lot of supposedly "better" players so if he can beat that this time round then I'd like to think some sections of the fanbase might finally come around.

Deki is good enough, that’s obvious to see.

I guess what I mean is that he has been performing to his level, whilst not many others are. If everybody is at their ceiling, he'll still be good, but part of a squad rather than a standout.
