At least four of those players are running on fumes and probably at high risk of injury because of that.

Still no real noise around the club ownership...

The consequences of being turned into a fucking tourist trap...
This is what I don't understand. If I was Levy I'd be out there spinning this like mad.

But he (and most chairmen to be fair) are content to trot the manager out to address the same unanswerable questions about transfers, injuries, etc week after week. It's just bizarre from a PR standpoint.

If he speaks he would potentially assume some responsibility... Won't happen and that's why he puts managers and others in the way of him being directly responsible...

FTG.

Per today's press conference

Micky is good, he's good to go. We'll try to get him some match minutes. He's had a good week, 10 days with the team. Madders has a calf strain, 2-3 weeks, Pape is ok, still a bit of a niggle, but he's ok and available and so is Biss.
Djed will be fine for the weekend. Him and Reggy can't be involved tomorrow but he'll be fine.
Cuti's still a bit of a slow burner. We're mindful his injury was a bit different and he's still got to tick a few boxes so, yeah, not for the horizon at the moment in terms of this weekend. We'll see how he goes after.

Dragusin has done his ACL. Done for the season and probably the start of next as well. I feel for the lad. He's not the greatest CB in the World but he had a decent World Cup and stepped up when we needed him.

I guess it remains to be seen if he's sold in the summer as well.

No way he's sold with that injury. Very sad, pretty clear he's not the best fit in the system, but it's no exaggeration to say we may well be in the relegation places without his efforts.

Can't argue with that...

Didn't realise he is still only 22...

He looks about 42...!!!

This will blow your mind but he's actually younger than Brennan Johnson by a few months.

With all the talk about our teenagers, worth remembering that a lot of our established players (Udogie, Dragusin, Johnson, Kulusevski, Van de Ven) are quite young as well.

"No Mickey won't be available this weekend, Micky probably is going to be a bit of a slow burner," he said. "The ones who are definitely close are guys like Vicario, Destiny, Wilson, Madders, Brennan at a stretch. They should all be back by midweek next week in terms of training or the week after. Over the next two weeks, they should all be available."

Postecoglou was asked about that moment and if fans had stopped listening to the injuries narrative.

"I don't know how it's a narrative when you are just stating facts," he said. "If people don't see a situation where you are missing something significant there is nothing I can say to that. If they say 'well, that shouldn't really make a difference' I don't know how to answer that.

"I get that people's senses get dulled or people get bored - everyone wants a bit of drama, but that's not drama, that's just stating facts. We have been missing some really key players for a long time and have had to deal with that. Whether people see that as significant or not...If people think I'm trying to create a story out of nothing I don't know what to say about that. And as for other managers, mate, he's had his five minutes so lets move on."

Wellens, who has benefited hugely from Spurs loan stars Jamie Donley and Josh Keeley this season, put out a statement apologising for his joke and attempted to get an apology to Postecoglou through the north London club. The Australian was asked whether he had received it.

"He's had his five minutes, that's good enough for me," he would only respond.

There are some interesting/amusing theories floating around about Mickey and Romero, notably that they're basically refusing to play for him and this 'slow burner' narrative is a way of covering for that.

Wow.
If true, we've got some big problems.

Not a chance that wouldn't have leaked... And why did VDV play a half in Europe...?

There are also amusing online theories that you can boost your fertility by tanning your balls, that the world is flat, and that hurricanes are caused by space lasers.

VDV expected to miss the United game as the rumours still swirl that he's going to miss the rest of the season.

I'm going to start a new rumor: Having suffered setbacks after returning too early more than once this season, Van de Ven, the medical staff and the manager are exercising an abundance of caution this time.

Can somebody explain to me, like I am a fucking two year old, why VdV played half a game in the EL yet hasn’t been seen since? It makes zero fucking sense to me. The player said he pulled up well, the manager said he was fine…and now he’s the goddamn Phantom.

This is bullshit.

Honestly, in my experience, it's the nature of the injury. Same with a groin/hip flexor. They just linger, and recovery is almost always fits and starts. It's concerning but I don't buy the conspiracy theory that he's sitting out.

I don’t believe he is sitting out but if this is where we are at then we’d be better off selling the guy.

He looks a good player but frankly he just hasn’t played enough football for me to form an attachment. He’s literally a liability if we can’t put any faith in his regular availability.

Busted flush for mine. I feel for him but this is beyond a joke now. As is the club’s complete lack of transparency on the situation.
