The Managerial Merry-Go-Round

We've dicked him around well and truly, he's right to bat those beautiful eyelashes at anyone who meet his gaze. I reckon Boehly will go for the hotter property in the end - Nagelsmann - but this is indeed disturbing.

This is pretty big news

It's been reported that Poch has supposedly held "multiple rounds of positive talks" with Chelsea. Been reading that Levy is said to have "completely blanked" him as well, even though he's made it known he's keen on the job.

I'd be a bit sick of Chelsea did get him but if it subsequently means we can somehow persuade Nagelsmann to take on the job then I'd learn to live with it.

Somewhat inevitably, there’s plenty of speculation this morning that Nagelsmann is either “focusing on” or “open to” the job.

Coming from some reasonably connected people as well, but obviously it’s just speculation so far.

If we're to believe Scott Munn is going to oversee all footballing matters then I suppose, technically, Levy won't be in charge ..

True.
Yesterday, with this news, my hope returned (to kill me).
My reprieve is that today's performance may turn him off.

But then in a weird sort of way, he might see it as an opportunity to "save" the club ?.

I'm probably hoping against hope but with the state we're in at the moment, he should, in theory, literally be able to write his own contract.

Again, it's the hope but he may believe that this "project" is just too BIG

Word is circulating this afternoon that there’s now “serious doubt” over Stellini’s future with Mason said to have “overwhelming support” amongst the players for the remainder of the season.

Only Tottenham could sack the permanent manager and then sack the interim manager in the same season .. *sigh*

Dont mind if Mason takes over. I guess Nagelsmann is our best hope. But unless we start buying good players, hopefully for lower prices than the money we've wasted recently, will it matter much?
Without CL and tougher FFP coming in, we have to stop throwing money around like a drunken sailor.
ENIC are surely staying for years more so lets go back to their model of finding lower priced bargains. If that means going Moneyball with data experts like Brighton and Brighton spend money on them, not on high priced flops that are draining the club dry.

And to think we could have just kept Conte for the rest of the year and competed for top 4 while somewhat maintaining our integrity and not being a shit show. Was literally no reason to sack Conte unless another manager was lined up. Oh, Conte was mean to the players and ENIC? Well he was fucking right! As was Poch and probably even the cunt Jose! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Poch to Chelsea seems to be a formality as it stands. While I'll be a bit sick seeing him in their dugout, I'm not about to join the group of fans who will inevitably say he's "dead" to them. If Levy is too much of a cunt (which goes without saying..) to pick up the phone then Poch should go somewhere that actually wants him and that will give him the money to spend that we never did/would.

Noooooo, Levy appointed the wrong man and had to climb down off his high horse to appoint the one we all knew should have been given the job.....!!!

Wow, who fucking saw that coming...???

From Levy:
Dear All,

Sunday’s performance against Newcastle was wholly unacceptable. It was devastating to see. We can look at many reasons why it happened and whilst myself, the Board, the coaches and players must all take collective responsibility, ultimately the responsibility is mine.

Cristian will leave his current role along with his coaching staff. Cristian stepped in at a difficult point in our season and I want to thank him for the professional manner in which he and his coaching staff have conducted themselves during such a challenging time. We wish him and his staff well.

Ryan Mason will take over Head Coach duties with immediate effect. Ryan knows the Club and the players well. We shall update further on his coaching staff in due course.

I met with the Player Committee today - the squad is determined to pull together to ensure the strongest possible finish to the season. We are all clear we need to deliver performances which earn your amazing support.

COYS, Daniel

The right decision after the wrong decision giving him the job in the first place.

Are we now the only club ever to sack an interim manager ?

Surely we're not the only ones, but it's still embarrassing.

Like, really, who is actually going to take this job? What quality manager would touch this shit show? I don't blame Poch one bit for going to Chelsea. He'll get a better squad than we have, and unlimited checkbook and full control. They are going to be a force again, which is sickening, as it should have been with us! I want to go the Poch's first game at the Lane so I can sing his name for the whole 90 minutes.

Our Shit Show.

So we've sacked Conte.
We've now sacked the interim.
Mason is hired.
We're in shambles & there are still 6 games to go.
There is a very strong possibility that Mason could be sacked.

Does anyone know who would be next in line?
The kit guy looks like a good bloke.

Boehly is fully in the driver's seat. Poch will certainly get new players, but who is to say he will want them or if Boehly wants them

I believe, & I may be wrong, that Boehly tends to run interference. Gets too involved in the on field running of the team.
Could be a problem for Poch.

We probably are the only ones. And if we're not, we were probably the fastest.
Technically we sacked Sherwood, IIRC, because the club had an option to extend to the following season. But given the way some (really most) clubs are run, I doubt we're the only ones ever. None of this is a defense of Levy/ENIC, but in terms of being a shitshow, the club are hardly an exception. There is nothing about Chelsea at the moment to suggest Poch will be a success there in the short term--and the short term is all that matters. They have been an absolute shambles under Boehly. Looking at English football, Spurs are just one of many clowncars driving drunkenly in circles. Which somehow makes it even more depressing.
