"We’d be happy if we could sign him tomorrow without paying the release clause."

Hahaaaaaaaaaaahahahaaaaa

They could have Donald Trump negotiating this fucker and they wouldn't get a penny off.. #Levied

I don't think they understand how this works.

He can go for 25m, but otherwise we'll keep him and run his contract.

If you want him for £24,999,999.99 Levy will tell you to fuck off.

Ze price, as they say, is not negotiable.

They probably still owe us money on the deal.....

Imagine getting Madrid to pay half his wages just to get shot of him...!!! That's mad.

So if he comes where does that leave Kane as our striker?
Is Bale a 200k a week back up option?
Would Levy sanction 200k a week, let alone 200k a week for a back up player who may spend serious time on the treatment table?
How does the dressing room react when Bale swans in on 200k?
Does Poch drop him if he is shit?
Who is our top earner now?

When contracts are renegotiated for other players the knock on effect could be crazy.

He will sell shirts by the bucket load, sponsorship will go up, merch with his boat on will go through the roof and when he isnt injured he is a fucking good player.

If you look at the dozen games he might play in and the half a dozen where he might play well and then the 3 games he might drag us through with some world class ridiculousness to win..... is it worth it? Does it pay off against signing a cheaper, younger, hungrier, up and coming player who Poch can mould into the perfect fit?

Both carry risks.

And will it be the same?

Is this just a drunken bang with an ex that's been reemed out by all the lads?

I don't see the point of selling Tripps for only 20 mil. It will cost us double that, at least, to replace him. Very confusing IMO.

Probably like with Dier 3 years ago,Foyth switching positions to RB perhaps??we still have aurier and KWP.I do feel fans have thrown trippier under the bus,he was nowhere near as poor last year as made out.I guess priority to Poch is midfield and we are going balls deep to cover eriksens loss and replace dembele??tripps frees up funds.Good profit on a player bought for £4m

Also Dier was also signed as a RB so even more cover if desperate.

Um, homegrown player rule anyone? We are gonna be screwed if all these moves go through. And do we have a third-string English keeper yet? If we don't then we don't know what the hell we're doing.

I seriously doubt any more than 1-2 of the moves that are being reported will go through. As an aside, isn't Foyth homegrown?

Hmmm? We got him at 19 I think. Wouldn't he need to have been 17? I honestly don't even know anymore. Dier is an Englishman who is an English national yet he counts as a foreigner because he trained in Portugal. Sometimes they really over think shit.

Yeah, I remember Gylfi was homegrown, for example. I guess it's being at the club three seasons before you turn 21, so you're right, he can't be homegrown. Looks like Tripps is indeed out the door:
