Word doing the rounds that we’ve allegedly agreed personal terms with Ivan Toney but Brentford are holding out for £65 million and have rejected our bid of £40m

“This year I started working with Pierre and it was a great satisfaction for me to be able to convince a top player for the project I had for him. Pierre has already experienced a lot in his career, he has had great seasons at Tottenham with top coaches like Mourinho and then Conte last year. In the national team he is a big leader as well”, says Luca Puccinelli from Unique Sports Group Italy.

What’s the plan for the future? He could leave Tottenham in the summer transfer window? “A player like him will surely be part of a club with great ambition or project because he is not just a strong player, but with a character made to fight for important things every year. Pierre feel comfortable in the pressure to win and I am working in this sense”. Is there a direction for the future club he wants to join? “He is telling me that every year he dream of trophies in the end of the season and don’t like to play for nothing. This is his mindset, this is the mission”.

There are already proposals for Højbjerg? “I am working on the many requests that we have already received, yes; but we will analyse all the possibilities after the Euros, during the holidays when we will spend some time together and then look forward to the next chapter”.

The plan is to make decision on his future club around July/August so, right? “The national team is giving him back his lost serenity now. I’m 100% sure that whoever signs Højbjerg will do a bargain”.

I still think his attitude stinks but if Ange thinks it will work then I'll get on board.

Well Brentford stood by him after his ban and welcomed him back into the team when it was over. Literally the first interview he gave after it was over he's talking up how much he wants to move to a "big club" because he wants to be fighting for trophies.

He said that if a chance was to come along to move then he'd be silly not to look in to it. He's apparently a boyhood Liverpool fan but subsequently named Woolwich as his preferred destination should a move happen.

Don't get me wrong, I've got no problem with ambitious players who want to move up and improve themselves but I'd have thought that he should have shown a little more gratitude to Brentford for all they did for him and left the transfer talk to another time.

I'd love him. And if we can get Eze too I'd be very happy. A top class midfielder and we'll be laughing. For me, that's the biggest urgency.
Could be Gallagher or Wharton ?...but imo we need a proper general. Someone like a Modric to sit and pull the strings. Would love Barella but that's not going to happen. I'd be happy enough if Gallagher signed though.

I agree with @ClemFandango about his character & that interview.
Plus, we'd be one bet away from squandering that transfer fee.

The Argentine is one of Tottenham’s most important players. He had a brilliant 2023/24 season and is a fan favourite at the club.

However, Real Madrid are said to be interested in signing Romero this summer.

Fabrizio Romano has now had his say on the transfer links.

The journalist has revealed that many clubs are interested in signing Romero, but Tottenham have absolutely zero interest in selling him.

Romano has even claimed that Spurs will not entertain any talks to sell their vice-captain this summer.

He said on Playback: “Cuti Romero to Real Madrid – guys, many clubs appreciate Cuti Romero, but Cuti Romero is Tottenham. Tottenham have no intention at all to let Cuti Romero leave.

“Cuti Romero is a key player for Tottenham. If we want to talk about interest in Cuti Romero, we could spend three days. But I can guarantee to you that Cuti Romero is absolutely a crucial player for Tottenham and Tottenham have no intention to entertain any discussion.”

Michael Kayode impressed in his debut season in the Fiorentina first team, attracting the attention of Tottenham ahead of the summer transfer window.

The 19-year-old Italian full back joined the Viola from Gozzano in July 2021 and spent two years in the Primavera squad, where he showed enough to earn a spot in Vincenzo Italiano’s squad for the 2023-24 campaign.

Kayode featured heavily for Fiorentina in his first year with the senior squad, seeing 2906 minutes of action across 37 matches. During that time, he scored once and provided four assists, enamouring himself the fans in Florence.

Tottenham look to Kayode

Corriere Fiorentino via TMW details how Tottenham are interested in Kayode, joining a long list of clubs who have their sights set on the Fiorentina talent ahead of the upcoming summer transfer window.

The Viola value the teenage talent at around €40m. Whilst no offers have arrived yet, that’s expected to change in the coming weeks.

Yes please. I’d take David over Toney every day of the week.

You fucking bet I would.
I'm not sold on David & that's coming from a Canadian who's only watched him in NT matches.
But I'm willing to give both a chance if they pass Ange's character test.
From the outside looking in, I can't see how Toney would.

Hehehe, was worried Peru would kick him all over the pitch and we'd end up with a busted flush.

I don't think he's as good as Toney (proud of him as I am),but I think he'd be dynamite in Ange's system.
