Yeah, but no. Is there any evidence that he has matured and got over his superiority complex? Only HM The King, Ledley got to skip training, for a very good reason. The boy had a serious attitude problem, maybe the man doesn't, who knows? Buying him because it would save a quid is of course the Levy way, but if he was disruptive to the squad and not prepared to toe the line then that could be a costly mistake.

With all the extra money coming in from stadium events etc, there's no excuse (they're never was) this time for Levy.
This penny pinching shite has to stop now. If we want to get top players, we have to go and get them and be aggressive in the market and pay the money.
Things have changed and the competition for signatures is huge. City, Arsenal, Liverpool, Man Utd, Chelsea, Newcastle and Villa all have plenty of money behind them and are ambitious. We HAVE to at least match them if we want to progress, not only to strengthen the squad with quality but to keep the likes of Romero, VDV, and Maddison at the club...and of course, Ange.

Look I've said for a long while I like this kid and that he'd be an exciting addition, even before Ange arrived, but him being young, English and looking for a step up alongside what appears to be a willingness to personally improve screams to me that we'll contrive to fuck this up and he'll sit on Citech's bench collecting splitters for the next half a decade.

Wouldn't want this personally. He's showing some good potential and he's said in many interviews that it's his dream to break in to the first team with us so you've got that desire as well.
Some people are saying he should be loaned out to a higher calibre club than Excelsior next season and if he performs to the same level then we can assess but I'd like to see Ange at least have a proper look at him in pre-season.
