Which then begs the question... Why would they sell.... And to us...?

He'll be crazy money, especially in Jan and we need centre fucking backs...
Fair point.

Reading around the suggestion is that if it happens it would be entirely because of a need to comply with FFP.

And they’re only talking of a fee of around £40m as well which is insane.

I’ll believe it when, and if, I see it.

Not to mention the fact that he cut off those golden flowing locks. Can't have him without the hair.

They need money in to balance their books? That's the only reason I can see

Sounds like we're being aggressive in the window, good to see. I know nothing about Dragusin, but sounds like he fits the bill on paper. And has Paratici connections.

Tottenham Hotspur have spoken to Al Ittihad winger Jota amid claims that they are now confident of securing a January deal.

We are now just mere hours away from the January transfer window opening and Tottenham Hotspur are moving quickly.

Fabrizio Romano reports that Tottenham are now moving towards a £26million deal for Genoa defender Radu Dragusin.

Dragusin would be competition for both Cristian Romero and Micky van de Ven, adding depth at centre back.

Tottenham still need other signing elsewhere though and Ange Postecoglou could now sign one of his former players…

Another winger may be on Postecoglou’s radar and there have been links to Al Ittihad ace Jota for months now.

Jota played under Postecoglou at Celtic and smashed 28 goals and 26 assists in 83 games.

Al Ittihad pounced with a £25million deal in the summer but Jota hasn’t settled in the Middle East and could leave on loan.

The Daily Mail now claim that Tottenham have spoken to Jota to discuss a January move to North London.

90min also report that Tottenham are now ‘confident’ of signing Jota on loan with an option to buy at the end of the season.

Tottenham aren’t expected to spend massively in January, so spending on Dragusin means a loan deal for Jota makes sense.

The Portuguese winger already knows Postecoglou’s methods and he would surely love to work under the Australian again in order to get his carer back on track.

Hailed as a ‘genius’ by Ally McCoist, Jota can provide a bit of magic in the final third and a loan deal at least allows Tottenham and Postecoglou to see whether he can handle the Premier League.

Shining in Scotland and then failing to get going in Saudi Arabia means there are question marks over whether Jota can make an impact in the Premier League.

Postecoglou will have confidence that he can get the best out of Jota though, with this deal now looking likely ahead of the January window.

Hopefully, Levy just pays the fee for Dragusin and doesn't try to squeeze 2 mil. Would be helpful to have him in asap. But I know Levy doesn't care about such things like team needs. Honestly think we only need a CB. Gallagher would be great but unrealistic. And another winger is a luxury. The CB is the main need so don't dick around.

Agree on all points, but Jota seems a pretty low risk acquisition especially on loan. So I think we'll probably get him too. I don't see Gallagher happening, and I'd be stunned if we got a CF as some are saying elsewhere. Just seeing that Man U terminated Reguilon's loan deal. Wonder if he could find a place on the bench?

The midfielder is still very much admired at Chelsea, who would only strike a deal with their London rivals if an offer was made above the £60million threshold. Spurs are simply not able to spend this amount of money during the winter window owing to Financial Fair Play (FFP) constraints, meaning their pursuit of Gallagher is very likely to stall until the summer at least.

We should pay the 60 mil and then sell PEH, Reguillion, Tapanga, and we'd close to break even while adding a homegrown player who's perfect for our system. Yeah, i know.

Radu Dragusin's agent says the defender is not thinking about leaving Genoa during the January transfer window, amid interest from Tottenham.

Sky Sports News revealed this week Spurs are continuing talks over signing the centre-back, which is a top priority position for Ange Postecoglou this month.

Florin Manea, the player's representative, says the £26m-rated defender is receiving interest from the Premier League.

“He does not think about money, but about prospects for growth and the team he can play for," he told Play TV.

"We were contacted by Saudi Pro League clubs, but he did not even want to listen to their proposals.

“Personally, I have not been contacted by Napoli, Roma or AC Milan.

"In any case, Radu is not thinking about leaving Genoa mid-season, it would be like leaving some unfinished business for him.

“I have had contact with clubs in the Premier League, including Tottenham and others, but at this moment he does not want to leave.”
