He delivered us a trophy in a season in which we were horrible in the Prem.
He tanked the League in order to focus on the EL.
In the end, he managed to get that desired result but at the expense of the League.

FWIW, if I was a season ticket holder, paying Levy the highest fees in the Prem, I'd be greatly pissed knowing that each time I attend a home fixture, my expectations would need to be as low as possible AND they would be realized.
That is truly unfair & I sympathize with you that attend.

But it's the immensely positive & enthusiastic response to him by his players that tells a tale.
It's evident that they love playing for him.
Couple that with some very infrequent but fantastic play & results which leaves me conflicted.
It's that glimpse of remarkable football that leaves me lingering for more.

If Levy can deliver the players Ange requires, I'm willing to give him another go.

Has Levy decided yet or is he still hiding from the decision and paralyzing our transfer policy in doing so?

Unless we could replace him with someone who plays a similar system (which is no one I can think of),we can't really bear a complete reset going into a CL campaign. Ange might ultimately get sacked, but I think he has stay at this point. If we are still crap next season, we blow it up once we're out of Europe and start building around a new manager's vision. But with Levy being a cunt and all, we know what will happen.

I completely accept it's not happening due to the supposed $20m+ compensation but I was wondering earlier on what the reaction from the fans would be if this delay was happening because we were negotiating to bring Pochettino back.

Going from the one man who led us to an actual trophy to the one man who had us challenging for the title regularly and playing some amazing football. The ultimate Spursy dilemma in a sense.

At least it happened early...

Good luck Ange I'm sure we will rue this day, and we'll always look back with pride at what we did achieve with you.

Aged like a fart... 😉
The $20m compensation is/was for Pochettino ..

But I'm going to paraphrase something I've just read which sums up the situation pretty well.

Pochettino got sacked for wanting a rebuild. Mourinho got sacked before a cup final. Ange has been sacked after winning a cup final.

Levy's Tottenham. He hates winning.

Now we sit back and watch how many players start agitating for moves.

This is brilliant.
It certainly does sum things up succinctly.

In his first season, Ange transformed the side & was true to playing in the "Spurs way" & narrowly missed out on CL in his first season.
Ange just won a major trophy for the club for the first time in 17 years & gained CL qualification.

I get that he threw away the League in order to do so but I bet he had the blessing of the board to do so otherwise he would have been sacked ages ago.

Jol gets European qualification yet gets sacked at halftime during a game.

Top, top managers like Jose & Conte tried to have Spurs compete under Levy but left angry & frustrated.

Which manager with any self-respect would come here after what has transpired under Levy? Seriously!

I really hope that little shit happens to pull a rabbit out of the hat for our next manager & brings us success but I highly doubt it.

I think this was coming. However, I feel a bit weird. I really don't know what to think.
I'm not surprised!
....you can't ignore league form, including early league form with a full squad.
I'm not happy!
...cos he put a smile back on our faces and gave us the first trophy in 17 fucking years..
I'm not sad!
...cos managers will come and go as will players...and that's a fact....but...I DO know this..

Ange was not the problem. Nor was Conte, Mourinho, Nuno, Poch, or other 10 or so managers. The problem IS and always has been...LEVY.

I'm deffo in the early stages of a bad breakup. I may eventually get to a "fuck that bitch" sentiment, but right now I'm wallowing in "I'll never love again" misery.

Should have given him a few games next season at least

Look, whatever you think about this... Good, bad, happy, angry...

You cannot take away the fact he is etched into our history now...

Primarily for the European cup, but also for the return of marauding, attack at all times football, we got to witness for a dozen or so games...

Good luck and thanks Big A.

I have to wonder if they've already got a replacement in mind, or even one lined up ?

If we're in a situation again of having to approach targets only to be rejected (again) then it completely blows up any summer transfer activity so maybe there's someone already willing to come in ?

Whoever it is is going to have a job getting the dressing room onside as well.

Frank seems to be the front runner but would he'd be mad to give up the Brentford job ? And instead go for a job where every manager's career has gone backwards (with one or two exceptions) after working with Levy.

Who the fuck would be even remotely interested in the Spurs job now, with the way Levy treats people? We are literally at a point of no rerurn.

I am gutted about this. But I really like Thomas Frank. The thing about managers is that their mentality/ego is such that they all think they'll succeed where others havent. Comes with the job I think.

I can honestly say I’ll remember the good (and not just the EL) with Ange, whereas I vaguely recall some good results under Mourinho and Conte, but ultimately I think of their time as fucking dismal. Ultimately just a class act.

Apparently yesterday was literally two years to the day that we appointed Ange.

Levy is a cunt. He better have a manager signed and sealed. If he doesn't, he's a fucking idiot. Thanks Big Ange for the big shiney trophy. You'll be a Spurs legend forever.

And yet, player after player went on record saying they wanted him to stay.
Exactly. It's classic Levy. He's probably offered an exclusive interview down the line if they run with the bullshit.
