Interesting. Word in the last hour appears to be that Thomas Frank will be confirmed next week and that he’s asked us to sign Bryan Mbeuno.

Two more suckers invited into Levy’s House of Mirrors.

I know the severance payments are great but when will people learn?

Did he not agree terms with Man U ? £250k a week ? Let's face it...Levy would haggle offering him that a month.

As far as the reports go, he has indeed agreed terms and if it's £250k a week then we're not going to touch that.

Have to admit I'm not sold on Thomas Frank. Don't get me wrong he talks well, sets Brentford up to play well etc, but he's in a nice position at the minute. Coming to Spurs is a huge high pressure step with the added intensity of the Champions League. He's a bit of a Nuno for me. If he comes in he has my full support as I do really like the guy, I'm just not quite there yet. If he brought Mbeumo with him would be nice though.

Personally I'd go full in on Emery!

Frank seems a bit like signing Graham Potter…it’s all a bit underwhelming.

Frank may be what we need but at this point, after Ange, I agree that it feels very underwhelming.

There's already a 'hashtag' on Twatter that's "#NoToFrank" which just makes my head ache.

Most likely from the same group of morons who started the '#NoToAnge' one two years ago as well. According to them, apparently, 'we deserve better'. But who ?. Who do they think we 'deserve' ?.

The fact that these hashtags seem to have more traction than #LevyOut says something

Even with the cup win, Its still very hard to get giddy about Spurs right now...

I know, we're at the start of another "transitional phase", and the team and manager will need "time to gel"...

But sacking your most successful manager since the 60's... Yep, I said it... He actually achieved more that Poch (a European cup trumps a fucking league cup)... Is just about the most Spursy thing any team could do...

Every time I discuss or think about Spurs at the minute, I ultimately end up shaking my head, shrugging and saying... "Well, it's Spurs..." And people reply, "yeah, yeah you're right, it's Spurs..."

Nothing will change until Levy and Enic are gone. Levy and Enic won't go unless they receive a mental offer. The only people able to make those type of offers I don't want anywhere near my or any other football club.

The absolute best we can hope for is another absolutely blinding young side and manager to fall into our laps and have the resilience to over achieve year after year after year, despite consistently losing top tier players and habitual underinvestment in the squad...

I saw the Poch era, and very much doubt I'll see another one, so it appears slow steady progress and periods of mediocrity await us all under whoever is brave (read stupid) enough, to take the Spurs manager position.

Apparently Frank is a done deal, just negotiating the "Who's coming over with him" part of it now.

Apparently the USA men’s team have just lost their third game in a row. It would be Sod’s Law that we appoint Frank and Poch gets sacked a week later ..

I wrote the following elsewhere in response to those in the "Ange Out" camp saying that the "Ange In" campers believe there is no justifiable reason to sack Ange because he brought us a trophy. There were certainly concerns with Ange but I can't be bothered to go through rewriting so I'm copying & pasting

The support for Ange isn't about refusing to "see beyond the trophy". It's about this club, or more specifically, this board finally seeing the bigger picture - that meaningful change, built on identity & belief, takes time, continuity, & calculated resources.

Our best periods haven't come under "winners" with trophy-laden resumes. They have come under managers who understood Spurs. For me & others that have been around Spurs for decades, winning at Tottenham hasn't been about just lifting silverware - it's about how you win. It's about more than just results. It's about demanding a style of football that reflects the club's spirit - ambitious, entertaining, & daring. There are others that simply want to win regardless of manner. Each has its merits.

My point is that under this ownership, we tend to chop, change tact, & reset without a clear path forward. Guys like Mourinho & Conte were poor choices because they betrayed the team ethos. Their approaches to the game felt so alien to me & emphasized the disconnect from the team on the pitch. Their hires further highlighted the scattergun approach of the ownership. I shake my head because this ownership simply refuses to see what is best for it. Even when it appears on the right path, it derails itself by not nurturing it.

I just hope that this ownership finally recognizes that building on the foundations that Ange, Poch & Redknapp have laid shows that when Spurs lean into who they are, rather than chase someone else's blueprint for winning, they thrive - not just in results, but in spirit.

This is why Ange, like Poch & Redknapp before him, resonates with so many. He's not trying to change Tottenham into something else. He's trying to remind it of what it already is.

And that's where real success lives.

I'll miss Ange, it felt like "Tottenham" with him as our coach, unlike the previous few coaches, no matter how "special" they claimed to be.

Not sure about Frank, I'll be fully behind him if he's appointed, especially if he convinces "the prick" to sign Mbuemo.. it would be fucking class to beat Spam United yet again this year... COYS

I feel like I am always watching a rerun with this club.

Anybody that even remotely challenges Levy’s authority gets the short back and sides. If Frank is a Levy sycophant then he’ll be ok, but if he does anything at all that outshines the bald goblin then he’s gone.

My take on Thomas Frank: Back when I and pretty much all of us thought Ange's sacking or departure was inevitable and probably justified, Frank was my top choice of the realistic replacements. He's my favorite manager other than Ange in the league.

Very good and flexible tactician, really charismatic, accessible to everybody from the owners to the guys who clean the showers, etc. We'll play good football, and most important, he's good at developing young players, and knows how to work within a budget, which sadly he'll have to do with Levy and co. (Different IMO than being a sycophant.)

None of this means that I agree with the Ange sacking, because I don't but I'm happy that we seem to be going with Frank. Put it this way: I get strong Poch vibes from him.

The US could be looking for a new manager fairly soon.
