He's favourite to replace Nuno at Nottingham Forest.

Putting aside the Greek heritage they have in common there is no way he’d get on with their lunatic owner
I actually like Marinakos. He doesn't give a flying fuck. Puts players in their place and demands respect....and gets it. Puts his money where his mouth is too.
Obviously he's completely mad but i like lunatics....to a point.
There's too many suits in this business going round being legends in their own mind. This mad cunt has got the confidence and arrogance of a lion thats hung like a shire horse....while eating a messy kebab and telling the likes of twats like Levy to fuck himself.

Go on ya mad thing Marinakos. Fair play to ya.

He is entertaining for sure. I’ll say this: it won’t last long for the reasons I said but they have a very good squad. Could see big Ange doing some damage there

Wish him the best of luck at Forest.

Hope he gets a tremendous welcome back when he returns to Spurs in March.

"It was unusual because it's never happened to me before. It's the first time I've been sacked. It's the first time I've had an off-season off. You wonder about the next opportunity. What I did know was I really keen to go to a club that would give me the platform to continue what I've been doing in my career," he said.

On that exit from Spurs, he added: "It wasn't great, I knew it was coming before the final. It wasn't a surprise. We had the parade but I knew it was done. From my perspective you have a chance to process that. We put the Spurs supporters through some tough times but there isn’t a Spurs fan that I have come across that doesn’t hug me and want to take me out for dinner, so I must have done something right!"

Glad he's back in the division, and I hope he's successful there.

They have a lot of talent, maybe more than he had last season at Spurs, but his tactics couldn't be any more different than Nuno's, so it will be interesting to see how it works out.

It’s slightly surreal to remember him at that parade and what he said about “Season 3” all the while knowing he was about to be sacked.

Sacked by a guy who also didn’t know he was about to be sacked

He's walking into a club that did unexpectedly well under Nuno and finished 7th. I'd think Marinakos is eyeing up the EL and then CL next season...and who better than the current EL winning manager ?Tough task on Ange but wish him well.

Ange Postecoglou says he has been surrounded by ‘negativity’ since arriving in the Premier League...

“I’ve no idea why. I’m likable! There’s been a negativity around my arrival since I came to the Premier League. But it’s a curious study in human nature as to why that’s the case.
“I came from Scotland and I get there’s not a great deal of respect given to the game up there. But my first year at Tottenham, I went to a club that finished eighth.
“They lost their greatest-ever player in Harry Kane (wrong), and I got the fifth playing my style of football. It would’ve got them to the Champions League any other year.
“But unfortunately, that first year I had somehow doesn’t exist. All that shows was that I finished in a poor position last year — and that my football ‘doesn’t work’.”

Saw what you did there…

But Ange has a point for sure. In any case he’s stepped into a very strange situation at Forest. Replacing a successful manager who couldn’t be different in terms of playing style. Very good squad but tough assignment.

I was genuinely thrilled when Ange first arrived at Spurs.
He completely turned the club around after three forgettable predecessors & for the first time in years had us playing with the kind of style & identity that first drew me to the club over 40 years ago. It felt like Spurs rediscovering who they are.

The problem with Ange, though, is his unwavering commitment to a single style of play. His refusal to completely adapt means he needs very specific types of players to make it work.

Now he’s back in the Premier League with a squad that, on paper, simply doesn’t fit his blueprint. It’s the classic case of square pegs in round holes.

To me, by choosing Forest, it feels as though he wanted to return to the Prem at almost any cost, more to prove a point & restore some personal credibility than because the situation was ideal.

So prior to signing on, did he really assess Forest’s squad? Do they even have a semblance of the players required for his system? because it’ll be months before he can bring in “his” players.

His mantra of “I don’t care who we’re playing. They might know what we’ll do, but it’s up to them to stop us” is bold & brash—but also a little naïve. Because once your opponents figure you out, the best managers adapt. And if you don’t, you get found out too.

I fear it will be a rough ride for him if he doesn't adapt.

He'll do well to get 18 months out of the job tbh...Think Ange is a nice guy, bit nieve, bit too arrogant and stubborn for me. But i admire his coaching attitude and the way he see's the game and how it should be played....but, it'll get him the sack again.
If he gets a job at a lower level, with a squad far better than anything else in the league, it'll work.....but not otherwise imo.
Still wish him well though but he needs a win.

Don't forget what always happens in his second season... He was pretty fun (for awhile) I wish him luck, especially against ARSEnal Man Phew ECT,
I'm interested in seeing what Frank's plan is against him.

I predict they will have a season not unlike ours last year. Struggle badly domestically, and make a deep run in Europe. They certainly have the squad to do it.

Marinakos has him in to win the EL. He knows thats the only realistic CL path. Good luck to Ange, but I do fear for him.

He's making a good amount of money to get canned in 6 months. He knew the owner was a crazy man, the squad makeup, schedule, etc before signing. He'll be just fine

Yeah, but he's said in effect that he very much wants to prove himself in the PL, so there is pressure there.

Unless he learns to change his systems to fit his opposition I don't think he will succeed in the prem. He will be Bielsa with Leeds 2.0

We finished 5th due to the first 10 games of that season and then everyone worked out how to play against his system and we became easy to beat.

I love Ange, I like his honesty and I think he did a lot of good for the club.

But he will die on his sword every single time.
