Farkkkkkk! I just looked at that shirt from here in the EU paradise of Spain and it's €140, for a fucking T Shirt. OK it's got all that sports tech like 'VaporKnit technology that combines lightweight breathable fabric with reduced cling and precision fit that wicks sweat away and dries fast enabling you to deliver an excellent performance' - most people who buy them will be fat fuckers who would have a fucking heart attack getting up off the fucking sofa.

Yeah but it wicks the sweat away while your dying...

What in the actual fuck is that away kit supposed to be ?

Did someone spill their paint pots on to their iPad and hit "Send" by mistake ?

Right.... my gucci router started to be a cunt... netgear Nighthawk super duper looked like an upside down spider thingy... it was the very bollocks the dog to start with but then when I asked for some support with the range extender Netgear were absolute twats. They wanted money to help, then Amazon said their support couldn't help and I should talk to Netgear... long story short Netgear support was shite, Amazon couldn't help and agreed to give me my money back.

So I sent it back to Jeff, got a full refund and went with the ISP router for a wee while...

Now, I'm going all in, full kit wanker and hardwiring my upstairs inclusive of adding AP's to each individual bedroom (now tell me you little shits that the WiFi signal good enough).

Just brought 100m of Shielded Cat6a, all the face plates, crimping tools, power outlets, cable clips and a gazillion other bits to get it routed from downstairs externally into the loft and then drop into each bedroom.

I've decided to stick a TP Link M9 Deco in each bedroom. Going to use a TP-Link managed 8 port Gigabit switch to farm out the signal.

I plan to replace the ISP router with a proper full kit wanker TP-Link Archer AX11000 Tri Band WiFi 6 router.

This is even more gucci than the last one... and hopefully more reliable than Netgears option and the support has got rave reviews... which is important for me and my very lacking IT skills...

Now should I give the adding additional sockets to the ring main a bash or just give a sparks a few notes to bang them together for me...?

What's mad, is that currently I can only get 80 Meg Maximum speed.... but the fiber infrastructure has been installed and I'm waiting for my ISP to install pull its finger out and runa piece of fiber from the cabinet to my gaff...

After seeing your post @Yid I got interested in the same so went downtown & started asking about the 'full kit wanker' but ended up with something completely different.

Can you let me have the password, because I could probably get a signal from that setup here in Spain. Only 80mb? Blimey mate, that's like living in a jungle in Bothngobongoland. Sorry, that was a weak attempt at sarcasm.

Speed isn't the most important thing, that beast you have got will dosh out the juicy internet goodness to all the devices in your house much faster and will be able to feed many more doodahs - if they are WiFi 6 enabled, so that might cost a quid or two! Unless you are trying to watch 5 4k UHD movies at the same time I doubt you'd have any problems, unless your ISP wasn't providing a solid signal or your streaming service wasn't willing or able to give you that sort of speed or a lot of people all over the world were all 'netting at the same time or a shark bit through one of the transatlantic cables, it don't not never ever matter if you have a million gb setup at your end if the bloke squirting the bits out can only manage a pathetic dribble or he is pissing out a mighty stream to a lot of hungry, hungry hippos.

It's scary how reliant we are on the Internet these days. Our router packed up a couple of months ago and suddenly our 3 tellies, 4 security cameras, 3 computers, half our lights, my nice gramophone and my radio were all just useless and all we had was our 4fuckingG phones, stone age times! We're unlikely to ever get 5G here because that needs (I think) a transmitter every 300 metres to spread Covid and fry your brains, it's fast but puny as fuck. Luckily I had ignored the advice of an expat 'expert' and gone for the top ISP which he said was too expensive and they came and fixed the router the next day. €50 a month for 300mb fibre, 2 mobile lines, 1 unlimited and the other with much more than we need and a fixed landline, plus the standard Spanish telly - expensive? Nah mate.

What was I waffling on about? Oh yeah, WiFi 6. When I get my robots, upstairs and downstairs Hoovers, my cyborg pool cleaner, all the 18 outside lights and the fuck knows how many inside lights, Aircon, fans, more cameras, car charging and all that good stuff then 6 shall be the number of my WiFi beast, but only when the existing stuff breaks or I win the lottery cos all the stuff I've got now won't reap the benefits and bask in the glory of the mighty 6. Blimey, I just had a musing, the Internet is like God innit? It knows everything, sees everything, controls everything and gives not a single fuck about us pathetic human beans.

Cat 6 is sooo last week…hollow fibre is the future.
This...... I've been asking about this for ages and was told Cat6a could handle gigabit speeds (10,000 mbps i was quoted) and could do it at over 600 mhz (think that's something to do with speed)....

My thinking was that if I get FTTP installed and a ridiculous connection why not just put fiber around the gaff meaning that I'm set up for years to come....

Only issue is that the AP's don't take fiber and I'm not sure if many routers have fiber in and out connection's either....

I enquired about Cat7 and again was told its overkill in a commercial setting and we're unlikely to ever max out the infrastructure if we upgrade to Cat6a....

Either way what I've planned will set us up sweet for ever.

Going to install an AP on the ceiling so that means a power socket and an RJ45 next to it....

Then one of these tidy looking fuckers will finish it off....

I can't buy nuffink now - we just ordered a new bed and it cost .... two fucking thousand euroquids! It's a good'un OK, but if I'm tired enough I can sleep on the floor and it's not even for our master bedroom it's for guests (and me when I have had a tipple or two and according to Mrs D snoring). The old bed is only 22 years old so it's got plenty of years left but now it's going to be taken away and recycled (that's what the bed company said but I reckon they'll just dump it). €2,000 would almost pay for the new camera I need, it would be a down payment on a motorbike or it would get me the PRS guitar which is also a complete necessity for my life to be worth living, none of those is on the approved list of stuff I am allowed to buy. €2,000 would keep me in Lidls Extra Malta beer (really, really nice, 6.8% and only 38c a can) for the rest of my life.

If I get Cat7 will I be able to stream 4K movies on my 1.5MB/s DSL line?

Only internally on your network, cat 7 would be on your local area network or LAN. The DSL is wide area network or WAN or your incoming service from the provider.

Just a general grumble that I might as well have pieces of string here when I can only get 1.5MB/s to the house. One of the benefits of living in the country.

companies are looking at using water pipes to feed fibre to hard to reach areas. Do you have mains water supply or a well ?

Sorry bro, I thought you were on a wind up...

OK... no, it won't help. If you only have a trickle of water coming into you're gaff, having fuck off huge pipes won't do anything to speed up that trickle.

The higher cat cables help when you have a mega shitboat load of water like when you have fiber optics directly from the cabinet to your gaff... they're like a high pressure fire hose and can force up to 10,000mbps of juice into your home... thats when you need fuck off huge pipes (higher cat cabling) to distribute the flow to where its needed.

At the moment you've got some old man pissing into your pipes so the insitu copper infrastructure in your home can 100% deal with it. Its good for 500mbps... maybe more.

MBps or Mbps? The first one would probably get you HD, not 4k, not no way not never Pedro. If it's bits not bytes then you'd have to download whatever you wanted to watch while you were on holiday for two weeks. It amazes me how behind the UK is on broadband, we live in a small town and get 300 Mbps, and in Spain we are way behind Portugal, I think Romania is one of the most advanced places (for Broadband),I could be wr.... less correct.

Therefore the pornography rankings must be: Romania, Spain, Portugal, England....

We’re on a well (some advantages to that actually, like no monthly bill),but that sounds like a really good idea for some communities.

@Dorset, my mistake, it is 1.5 mbps so totally useless really - we got rid of it a few years as the telco has no plans to improve the infrastructure. Currently we use cellphone data at 4G speeds, but have contention issues when we try to stream. But 5G cell data should be here soon and hopefully be a drastic improvement. And I’ve been vaccinated, so I won’t even need a modem!

5g will probably be your best bet if they're not doing anything with the legacy infra.

That'll see you OK for maybe one or 2 heavy use devices... Probably one 4k movie at a time.

I know people who use their 5g over their broadband because its faster and they're on unlimited data tariffs...

I don't think it's cheap, but it's also not prohibitive either. I suppose if it's part of your mobile package it is essentially is just another contract, like the broadband would be anyway.
