How poor is Raheem Sterling when he is asked to do anything but be an auxiliary player that thrives on as little focus being on him as possible? Shows how easy it is to look good in that Man City side.

Kane was well marshaled in this game yet he was still able to get two goals and honestly should have had two penalties based on how the tournament has gone thus far. This is the difference between a player like him and players like Lingaard, Sterling, etc. He’s the one who will come up when you need it most and not fluff his lines when he’s directly in front of goal. Yes it has happened before but at a much less frequent rate than almost any other player.

In other news Loftus-Cheek looked bright late on.

England need a better plan of attack. They honestly looked a lot like us this past season where we just grind out results but really don’t create too many clear cut chances for our best players. This sounds funny after he’s scored two but England need to find a way to get Harry more involved. His poaching instincts are just a small aspect of his complete game.

I actually thought that was a good performance from England against a side who where hard to break down. Two goals for captain marvel, Alli was great for the first twenty minutes or so the he got a tough tackle and was quiet for the rest of the game. Hope he's OK as the way him and Lingaard broke forward early in the game looked exciting to me but also gotta Loftus-cheek credit for the way he played when he came on. Sterling was the only player that I felt a but meh about today but Rashford was lively when he came on.

Moving on to Spurs for a second I'd love to Rashford and Loftus-cheek at the club. I know it's not gonna happen but they'd be superb in our team.

Big shout out for Tripps as well who I thought was immense. How the fuck Henderson gets in over Dier I don't know, absolute crock and the BBC Liverfool love in continues with them saying he was brilliant!

I thought England were good, even in the 2nd half when Tunisia sat deep I was never scared or anxious, it had that familiar feel of a winner coming along - Christ how times have changed! I haven't enjoyed an England game lie that in a long time.

I know that was only Tunisia and we only won 2-1 but it was arguably our best world cup performance since 98.... Says a a lot for how bad we've been for a couple of decades now but most players did their jobs well today.

Couldn’t agree more regarding Sterling and Lingard was invisible in the second half. Unfortunately almost all the first half chances fell to the wrong people and Walker did a Walker.

That about sums it up if you add the two pens Kane could have got too.

I remeber teams like Italy making a slow start in years gone by and going on to win. Bit early to make any concrete judgements, Messi missed a pen ffs.

Mate, even Stevie Wonder can see that Argentina are awful. They barely even qualified.

They will be lucky to make the quarter-finals.

Tony Adams on England's World Cup chances: "I'm really worried about these Tottenham players. I don't think they know how to win. They're very good players, but at certain points in seasons and tournaments, you have to step up. There's a psyche players must have."

What a cunt.

That Spurs loser Harry Kane was the difference, along with his loser mate Tripper...they were the two best players on the park. Meanwhile the guys that allegedly know how to "win" butchered chance after chance. Lingard and Sterling were pathetic. Sterling couldn't hit the side of a barn form six yards ffs. He has no business being in Russia unless he is with a supporter group.

A good performance by England, could easily have been four or five to nil. It makes a huge difference when you have players that can finish, as Germany found out against Mexico. England's structure actually looked like they had a cohesive idea of what they were trying to do and a lot more control of the game than some of the more fancied teams that have already played.

Yeah it's not the highest standard of football in Africa. I remember when I was pretending to be a student (I never studied but all my pals did) watching AFCON with one of my pals and seeing a team lose 4-3 when they were 3-0 up in the 80th minute.... you just wouldn't see that shit in the Euros. Think it may have been Gabon but could be wrong.

Senegal looked OK I thought, bossed Poland in the first half in particular.
